We are so lucky to live in an age where at the touch of a few buttons the history of cinema is ours to behold. I, for one, am very grateful. I visit IMDb to feed my curiosity about the cast and trivia on almost every film I watch.
Fantastic short with Billy Gilbert was a totally underrated comedian. This gag with the clothes ripping and then sewing behind the curtain at three stooges reused in one of their shorts 😂
@@jamesmentzer I erred somewhat. The Hal Roach films were primarily scored by Leroy Shield, as well as by Marvin Hartley. The _Beau Hunks_ have reprised the scores since 1992.
Mrs. Von Astorhorse- very clever pun! Seeing her peruse the dresses and lingerie well, it reminds me of the saying, " Fifty pounds of mud in a five pound bag." And Mr. Von Shmaltz, if my Yiddish is correct, translates as Mr. Aristocratic Chicken Fat...
I grew up watching these movies in the 70s. Saturday morning usually meant The Three Stooges but my favorites were Thelma & ZaSu. Enjoyed how they played themselves like the best comedians did. I saw several movies starring ZaSu where they gave her a character name & it just fealt wrong.

I do the same.
Always a treat to watch! I can never get too much of those two. :^) Great humor!
I think ZaSu was made for the role in Niagara Falls.

As Soon as you hear that Music You Know You're in for a Treat!,, Just LOVE These GALS .. Thanks!
This is supreme!
Todd and Pitts at their best.
The (Thomas) Marvin Hatley music scores of Hal Roach comedies of the period are wonderful.
Love that music grew up with it my whole life

I never encountered these ladies before, but boy are they good !!!
@@flyingtigerline Thelma Todd ..Marx brothers zazu Pitts w.c. fields and the Gail storm show
Thelma Todd’s greatest claim to fame was starring along side the irrepressible Laurel & Hardy.
Zasu is my favourite.

Thelma Todd was talented and gorgeous. In the words of Neil Diamond, "Done Too Soon."
Mixed with the wrong people.
@@63mckenzieleft us to soon Groucho was in love with her
@@jamesmentzer Easy to see why.
Whacked by the Outfit. They wanted to turn the roadhouse which she owned into a gambling "clip joint."
She was just that kind.

Zasu is my favourite. She died in 1963, three weeks before my first birthday. I'm 62 now.
I’ve never seen this before, it’s funny. Thanks for posting, sad about her passing so young.
Thank you so much for posting these, can't wait to see Red Noses!
Coming up!
🥰Thank you 👍Funny and nice to watch .😃
Glad you enjoyed it
The rodent was hilarious. 😅
Notice that the music is the same from The Little Rascals! Good comedy short!!
Love it
With the Great Depression raging and the whisper of war, these comedies must have been loved.
The dog 😀It’s laughing gravy
That first scene...wow !
Interesting that the stage for the fashion show had a moving walkway, but that wedding dress looked like a nun's habit.

Wish the sound was slightly clearer.
The film is 91 years old. You're lucky it has sound at all!
🩷Zasu especially.
