A tip that helped me level up my M1s and get to leaderboard is holding M1 instead of clicking. Especially with swords the M1s would just be way too inconsistent and people would walk out because spam clicking wouldn’t lock in the input at the right timings. Clicking for M1s with fist characters are better if u have really low ping but it’s a lot easier to learn the timings and not have to worry about dropping M1 combos if you just hold M1.
yeah i hold click too cuz for some moves that are hard to extend with it keeps selling when i click

Air catching is very important and I use it a lot, its basically 3 m1s on the ground an uptilt into the air with either kicking back or downslamming. I use it when people are scared to fight and this is especially good with lucci's geppo its basically a free combo off of people who use spacing a lil too much.
Yeah, I agree with most of this but to add on:
Punishing failed combos with uptilts feels more consistent than blocking or mashing at times for example a counter (if you have a low start up move you can)
Uptilts actually have a little endlag on fail (you can test on uptilt dummy)
There are 2 types of air m1 mixups - raw ladders and m1 delays (despite what you might think raw ladders are pretty consistent and if they block it you can always delay m1s)
Clicking m1s makes timing uptilts and downtilts very hard in neutral and in general (except if you’re a demon like malakai, bro clicks so damn loud)
You cannot immediately put up block after an m1 finisher, so it’s very easy to punish with m1s (be careful for m1 stacks with moves if you’re doing this)
Downslams are the shortest ranged m1s in the game so be very careful when you tilt an enemy in neutral because a down slows may have a chance of whiffing
Holding your space and m1ing in the air in neutral is also a way to get free m1s because of the elevation difference (I call it “dry laddering”, coined by me nobody take that)
Grounded downslams don’t give downslam immunity (Just something to think about, it’s hardly ever used outside of trying to guardbreak or fish a free combo off a move that is blockable or does not combo extend without a downslam)
Upflinging on a wall makes enemies fling lower into the air than a regular upfling (pro players abuse this all the time, just watch Homura)
And to finish my long m1 essay, every m1 has a gap which can be punished on whiff simply with a normal m1 (the timing can be tested by walking to a dummies combo blocked and then letting go of block to punish with raw m1s, sounds complicated but it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it)

honestly you hit every point one thing you probably could have included is movestacking m1s in different scenarios like with stacking fifth m1 with a tp move or just m1 movestacking in general
Bonus tip: Adapt, I’ve seen so many players fall for the same thing over and over when all they need to do is step back and play around the other player’s patterns. They will usually get caught off guard once the thing they do stops working
Remember to mix up ur m1 combos to get more guardbreaks for more dmg

Bonus tip: If a person is M1'ing you while you are blocking after they do a M1 there is a slight gap where u can M1 and one shot them

Lee doesn’t even really have to M1 because of his low cooldowns on his combo starters and extenders. I’d say Shirou relies on M1s way more.
