But just as importantly, when you come to England it is Aston Villa & Villa Park you should learn about & discover, they are the true football pioneer's in England, no-one, no-one, can compare to Aston Villa in history, tradition a being football pioneers. After you've checked out Queens Park, which I hope you do, check out & research Aston Villa, & tell me all I've told you isn't true ! Seriously ! Up the Gers, Up The Villa. Wow. I knew Ibrox was very well preserved regarding it's history, but I had no idea just how dramatic it is. The beautiful staircase reminded me of the Grand staircase on the Titanic. Of all the football grounds in the UK I doubt that there's anywhere quite like that. My only surprise is you can understand the Glasgow accent. Superb video, good health sir.
I felt the same way. The place was built and original to 1899 so you can see similarities in the old grand architecture of the time. So far in my journeys I haven’t seen anything like it. As for the accent…it depends. There were pockets of Glasgow where I stood no chance in understanding 🤣 but overall I got used to it. When I first arrived it was tough to grasp every word. It’s similar in the US in certain areas…crazy how accents and dialectics can change so rapidly…even within a city. From London - Manchester - Glasgow - Liverpool on this trip…there were four very distinct accents

Great of you to share your hobby and highlight this fantastic team ,Rangers Football Club. Rangers have had a number of players from the States. Demarcus Beasley , Maurice Edu,Carlos Bocanegra,Emerson Hyndman , Alejandro Bedoya Edison Zelalem...,all played for Rangers and Malik Tillman along with James Sands. We even have some American in the Ladies side. Orange County have an agreement with Rangers which benefits both clubs and are proud to do so. So go USA ,and the red,white,and blue.

The security guard invited us in. We done the same as yourself. Sat in the dugout, and my friend was over the moon like yourself. I'm showing my age here, because it wasn't the acrilic dug outs. Hey Andrew, thanks for the kind words! I’d love to attend a match at Ibrox in the future. I don’t think you can really compare Ibrox and Celtic Park…they have completely different feels. I think maybe it would be best to attend a match at both and see haha. But I’ll say that Ibrox’s architecture in the historic stand was just classic. I wasn’t expecting it to feel like a living football museum, I sincerely enjoyed every minute of my visit there
That was really nice of Rangers FC to let you inside Ibrox Stadium and have someone show you around. Your guide got a couple of things wrong. The Europa League replaced the UEFA Cup not the Cup Winners Cup which is a now defunct tournament and Richard Gough picked up a losers medal in the 1987 FA Cup final. WE ARE THE PEOPLE 🏴 🇬🇧

I have done the Tour myself twice. Once in the late 80's when I was a teenager and last year again now im in my 40s. Fantastic stadium inside. I have also sneaked in once with my 84 year old Grandma one Afternoon after going for a meal at the Club Restaurant. We walked past the Big Blue gates and it was slightly open so we took the chance like you and walked in. We managed to walk round the pitch side, up and down the Touchline to the Dug outs and Tunnel, took lots of photographs and I stood on the pitch for a great photo. : )
Amazing experience! I was blown away by the hospitality. Funny how in the states none of the teams in any sport would offer to just show you around. Great experience, and it sounds like an amazing memory with your grandma!

The UEFA Cup and Cup Winner's Cup were basically merged to become the same competition. Historically speaking, the Cup Winner's Cup was the more prestigious tournament than the UEFA cup, and was well liked by fans. It's only since they started letting multiple teams into the Champions League/European Cup did the prestige fall.
I'm happy for you that you were able to make the tour. Even as a Celtic fan, I don't think I could have turned it down. However, to be fair, the Rangers FC that won all those trophies and titles died in 2012, when it was liquidated. The assets were sold, and a new club - still being called Rangers - was formed and entered the Third Division. BTW, did you get a chance to tour some of the distilleries while you were there? Some video of that would be great to watch. (Not as good as drinking a bottle of Glengoyne, but you take what you can get. 😁)
You can’t turn down a chance to see Ibrox, especially with its history. Beautiful stadium and cathedral of the game. I didn’t get a chance to check out an distillery’s unfortunately. Didn’t get to spend enough time in Glasgow /:

Interestingly when you walked into the home dressing room and I saw the tops on the wall I thought "Those tops were there when I did the tour with Rangers legend Richard Gough". Later in the video the gentleman taking you round mentioned they have a special tour with him later that day. Must have been the exact same day. The UEFA Cup and Cup Winner's Cup were basically merged to become the same competition. Historically speaking, the Cup Winner's Cup was the more prestigious tournament than the UEFA cup, and was well liked by fans. It's only since they started letting multiple teams into the Champions League/European Cup did the prestige fall.

I'm happy for you that you were able to make the tour. Even as a Celtic fan, I don't think I could have turned it down.
However, to be fair, the Rangers FC that won all those trophies and titles died in 2012, when it was liquidated. The assets were sold, and a new club - still being called Rangers - was formed and entered the Third Division.
BTW, did you get a chance to tour some of the distilleries while you were there? Some video of that would be great to watch. (Not as good as drinking a bottle of Glengoyne, but you take what you can get. 😁)

Really nice video btw. Always good to see people's first reaction to first walking through the door and taking in all that history and tradition. Interestingly when you walked into the home dressing room and I saw the tops on the wall I thought "Those tops were there when I did the tour with Rangers legend Richard Gough". Later in the video the gentleman taking you round mentioned they have a special tour with him later that day. Must have been the exact same day.
