Em have a little watch of Steve young as his approach to groundwork. She’s just a wee bit controlling currently and you need to let her know that it’s you that calls the shots not her. But have to say she’s a stunner. And you ride her so well. Elegant rider.
These are things i wish steve would watchfor audio help!!.love his training, absolutely the best, but the audio is tough.
I so loved this vlog- so much to learn from watching. Thank you for sharing so much of your journey and the work you put in.
You both look epic together and are just getting better and better.
I would listen to cam teach all day. Such a fantastic coach- love all of his teaching.
Awesome lesson Em! I love the pole work, we worry about the big stuff and forget about the little stuff. I love Cameron's lessons, he's down to earth and easy to understand, and always wants the best you can give. So much too learn out of this lesson. Thank you 😊
Looks so lovely to ride a trained horse 😂✨️🌾Backing horses drains a lot 🙈. Love your videos ❤🤗
Thank you so much for showing the mounting woes as well as all the brilliant progress. It is encouraging to know I’m not alone with young horse mounting issues x
Cameron is such a gem 💎.
I know this is the hard work.
But your horse can already jump 120 out of control. But this will put him in to control. This is the hard work and I'm glad to see that you're doing it. It's awesome. I believe in this horse. I believe in you. Doing the Pole work will make it look easy when you're eventing. Keep it up we're looking to see more of this awesome
Thank you for this! I have a pony that has similar tendencies so this was really helpful!
I absolutely love cameron’s teaching style, everything just makes sense to me
Well done! My instructor puts the circle exercise up often. We call it the "circle of death" 😁
Oh my gosh Emily you remind me so much of myself. I find myself wanting to give advice but I realize unsolicited advice never helps me, it just creates confusion and doubt in my head even if I know it's bad advice. You're doing a great job with Addie. Part of why I want to offer advice is because you seem so dedicated to learning. That makes your vlogs so interesting every time.
Hi Em, if you are interested in some groundwork that will slow Addie down, I think maze work would be really good for her 😊
I am so impressed by this lesson. Her basic rideability is so much better.
The ground work training at trailer mounting… like a game of “Mother May I”. Addie and Emily worked in that training session 👏👏 well done. Great exercise for you both. Enjoyed watching… oh boy the muscles you’ll will get training like this. 💪
Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m going to try this with my mare who can be a bit hot and I need the exercises to keep me focused! Thank you for being so open and honest in your vlogs x
Fabulous work guys such a big future ahead for you both , Cam you are amazing & worth bottling - pure gold
Awesome job ‘em
It looked hard but really enjoyable look forward to vlog mass xxx
Great lesson Emily you rode Addie very well it’s hard work but it’ll pay off. Cameron is a great trainer. Enjoy it all. Tfs😎🏇😎
Hi Emily,
I have watched you for years right back when you had Lola, you have changed so much and now are so competitive and some what wanting to be a perfectionist, and the best at everything. There is nothing wrong with that but try to not put yourself under so much pressure try just to enjoy Addie relax and be happy with what you have, your a very strong rider and very confident but you don’t have to be so I can do anything. Go back to basics and see what happens.
The sunlight in the trees looks beautiful. What a lovely day for a ride. Good workout for Addie. You could see her listening to Cameron in the mounting exercise trying to figure out the sounds.
Hi all SO good to see you out training, AND all the best for next year. That looked like such a good exercise ,for ALL rider .Take care and see you next time .And I have been whoching swip up and kick on season 3 .👍👍👍
You guys are onto something with the ground work!
Love Cameron
He is so good , always has impact , positive firm but fair
Addie looks so good
❤
I did this in my lesson with Cam last week and it really is the circle of death!! You guys smashed it. Looking awesome x
Steve Young is brilliant he tutts to get them to walk back and klicks to get them to walk forward. Hi Cam lovely to see you faboulous lesson and beautifully ridden Emily special girls she is ❤
that was great! Thanks for sharing :-)
I thought you rode superbly Em, and what a great exercise by Cam. Fantastic vlog!
This was fascinating. My pony has the same tendency to move away quick, so I’m definitely going to give the exercises at the box a place in our plans
Such a useful video to watch, thank you!
Oooh, Addie has so much talent! Love these training sessions and can't wait to see what you get up to next year. Bet Meg would love this exercise for Jam too given that she gets strong/excited in the jumping too.
What a wonderful exercise, and a brilliant lesson from Cam! I LOVE the wheel of death, it is so beneficial to improve the control and connection in the canter. The perfect winter training exercise for Addie ❤
Love it 👍
I loved this video!! I am so excited to see your vlogmas videos!! xxx
Great training session 👏👏💜
Wow, you and Addie worked really hard 👏 You both looked amazing, and although Cameron was working you hard, you both were looking amazzzzzzzzing ❤
What a great session. So much to take in, practice and learn from. I have to agree with previous comments re Steve Young. He has brilliant training techniques just slightly different from Cameron, but very similar. I notice Addie reaching back to nip at your feet. That is just bad manners. She is a superb horse but don't let her get on top of you. Love watching.
Lovely to see you both back xx
That was so good Emily. Very well done to you and Addie!
What a great lesson!! Love to learn from your lessons! Thks for sharing
Awesome lesson !!! Well done em and Addie. Cam is brilliant 🤩
I'd love to see a collab on ground work with Em and @steveyounghorsemanship
Absolutely LOVED this! Would love to see more of your lessons and can't wait to see the progress of your journey! Great lesson!
Well done both of you. Tough lesson but fab exercise and Cameron fab as usual 🇮🇪🍀💚
What a cracking exercise! Looks hard but so effective, well done 😃
That exercise looks so simple but is actually so tricky! Definitely one I'm going to give a go. Love the training videos. Xx
Great lesson! Circle of death explained well 👍
Great video Em. That was a great exercise. CAN'T WAIT FOR VLOGMAS! Yay!
Super helpful, thank you for sharing lessons! Gives me great ideas for exercises at home and helps train my eye to the distances :)
These exercises reminded me of the Howden Way BE training you went to a few months ago. You look so strong and fit Emily - definitely something I’m aspiring to ….but failing miserably, so well done!
❤❤❤
Great work Em! She's looking fab in the riding! Definitely agree that she needs a lot of groundwork done though, she's a busy mare which may stem from too little leadership and correction on the ground. I really recommend taking a look at Steve Young Horsemanship's channel, he's based in the UK and does some great work with horses. I think a calmer horse on the ground will absolutely translate to a calmer horse when riding too.
Hey fan bloody fantastic misses redit to you both and of course Cameron who works woth both you and addie and not just a horse
I don’t know a whole lot about horses but doesn’t seem like she likes that bit but I could be wrong
Hey em! Love the vids, can I get a hayyy! ❤
That was an amazing lesson. Now, I’m going to be like “one, two, three, four” in my head for the next several hours! 😂 ❤❤
Can anyone explain how to set this up with the jumps included?? 😊
