Wow! The shower looks fantastic Erik! The corner seat is such a nice addition, from my perspective. I have a steam Generator and sit every morning. You probably Don’t get to sit down much being a farmer… but it’s nice anyway. The kitchen cabinets look really nice, too, and the hardwood floors are awesome. I imagine that having your wife and children there at the farm will make your life as husband (first) and father (second to your marriage) so much more meaningful. Just something to think about: I'm 75, and a year ago I moved into the first two story house I've ever lived in. The stairs are carpeted, and I do not like that at all. The LEADING EDGE starts getting dark from foot traffic rather quickly. We have even started not wearing shoes for up stairs, but it still gets dirty. Some people put plastic runners on their stairs, but from my perspective that just defeats the reason for carpeting in the first place. I plan to remove the carpeting on the stairs, and put nice hardwood on the them instead. They will be a bit more slippery, but there are a number of ways to address that. By the way, the shower is stunning.

Family were dairy farmers in 1940-50's. Seen the end of hand milking, onto machines. Cousin was waiting for me to start hand milking with him, machines saved me.

Why are you not using that big stump, upside down, as a base for an outdoor table? Level the top as best you can (add a block where needed), get the dirt out, seal/dip it professionally, and put a big round wood table top over it. Great place for everyone to gather ‘round for supper and what not.
I bet there is some wood working guy out there going 'that stump would make a great coffee table😁" or "bet I could put that on my lathe and make a beautiful bowl!" You are soooo lucky with your beautiful new home for your young family. Enjoy!
I know its been said before but in an attempt to help the TH-cam overlords I will say it again. Love the kitchen colors! I'm surprised with the size of the shower, however, that your wife did not want a shower with multiple jets and options. I would love to have that. Keep up the great work.
My father was a home builder, retired of course. However the infamous schedule of completion was always “ 2 weeks” 😂 … the very last thing in any new home is carpeting. Looks beautiful by the way. 👍
House looking good !! Lil advice I'm in construction, do NOT put carpet on those stairs, within 6 months your carpet will look cruddy and worn out, not to mention dirty, ho with hard wood floor steps
Make sure you have a water conditioner / softener before you start using that shower. it will really help with keeping deposits from forming on the glass. Looks great!
You should put rubber down in the feed alley where the cows walk through, it makes it ten times easier to clean. Just spray it a bit then use a squeegee to push the manure into the pits
That new tail trimmer is a slick tool. It's just the thing to make that job easier and less time consuming..which is always a plus. I know how excited you and your family must be about getting close to moving into the new house. Good luck with the move and hope everything goes smoothly.
I've said this before, but I must have been a dairy farmer in another life or something. I find the different aspects of dairy farming fascinating, and I appreciate your generosity in sharing your life with subscribers. I am particularly fond of the hoof trimming and subscribe to a number of those videos (Nate and the Hoof GP, as well as the horse hoof trimmers). I am a technology consultant for a legal publisher and have nothing in common with farming or livestock, yet I enjoy the work ethic you and your dad demonstrate in every video and the care and attention you provide these animals. I also drink about a half gallon of milk a week, so it's kinda nice to see how the sausage is made. I realize now that my cup of milk in the morning wouldn't be possible without hours of scraping manure into a giant manure pit, that manure making its way into a forage crop field, which is fed to the cows, that generate my milk, and then the cycle begins again. Always interesting.
Always nice to see that there's improvements being made to the farm in some way or another. The new barn is working out great and the house is looking very homey and ready to live in. Keep up the hard work. Kinda want to see that tree stump/root ball burn. I bet it would sounds awesome.
Trouble with shower doors opening outwards is that they drip onto the floor when you get out. Have to quickly close it again!!! Everything looks super. Tail trimmer is a very handy bit of kit.
We drove from Maryland to New England yesterday, by way of York & Allentown, to avoid the I-95 traffic, and went through dairy country. Some of those farms looked just like yours! Beautiful region; I would totally love to live around there. You are in a great part of the country.

Verdict out on those robotic manure scrappers. LOL. I have the same size shower, with a triangle seat. Women love shaving their legs using the seat. You will never go back to a small shower. Taking a shower goes from getting clean to a spa treatment, which is very relaxing.

holsteins are really chill but there some really angry the "nellore" cattle is an example of it. really angry at everything.
