About 12 years ago, I heard the Choir for the first time ever on Public Television. I had never heard any other choir as magnificent. I have been collecting the
Ensemble's music on disk ever since. A few selections were found on the internet and were able to be downloaded from a free Russian website at the time ( which disappeared about 2003 or 2004), which were sung by the Choir a couple of years after it was first formed in the late 1930's--these songs were recorded in the very early 1940's! That was also my first introduction to the "crooning" tenor, Georgy Vinogradov, who was the Choir's soloist for several years. I found some of his music as well. To me, the Choir's music is the best there is. .
Do you still have these downloads ?
Вечная память нашим военным погибшим во всех горячих точках

My pleasure! And thank YOU for your explanations of the performances!
@Antarath
My pleasure! The intro song's name is "Несокрушимая и Легендарная". It's a Russian March about the Red Army.
Lik a typical American, I cringe at the sight of men in military uniforms.However, once I could get over this feelings,I was able to immensely enjoy a spectacular show;featuring wonderful dance performances & magnificent renditions of classic Russian Songs.There was so much energy & vitality. Truly uplifting:It put a smile on my face.It has been a long time since I have seen anything half as good.I think if this was on TV everyday instead of the garbage we see, the world would be so much better
thank you rita you were a big help
Felicitarile mele Hari !

Gavva sings this song very different from what Haritonov and Sergeev used to do.
Different tones sometimes. Bit still sounds good

my favorite part is at 3:06
R.I.P 永恆的經典
А где этот дирижер?.
Его почему-то
не показывает, ищу ищу нет никак не могу Найтти..
А почему его скрывает?..
what are the names of all these songs please give me the name of them all in this video please
What is the name of the song at the very beginning?
@preemptivestrike20
A bunch of old men marching in their worm-out uniforms in a Veteran's Day is one thing, but a parade featuring tanks and airplanes, Americans would be running for shelter. When they stationed National Guardsmen in the NY & NJ train stations, ridership went down so drastically, they had to stop. So if "Americans" do not cringe at the sight of military uniforms as you say, why did ridership go down?
what is the name of the song at 1:42
"Соловьи" ("Nightingales")
/watch?v=cgZBEJ9UXEc
@0darksome0
hehe ok hvem er du?
@0darksome0
ну и солист "соловьев", сколько он может мучить песню
@preemptivestrike20
1st of all, neither you nor I can possibly speak for 320 million Americans & I wasn't attempting to do so either. When we say America is a Christian country, no one insinuates that this comment means there are no Jews, Moslems, or Hindus in this country. Only that the country is predominantly Christian. It
@preemptivestrike20
a generality & my comment was meant to be a generality, too. 2nd of all, my comment stands: Americans think little of their army this is proven by the fact there are nearly 1 million homeless vets, mostly from the latest wars abroad. If Americans thought highly of soldiers, this would not be true. I may not agree with the imperialist wars the US is currently launching abroad which enriches war manufacturers & banks and impoverishes the nation both economically & morally;
Fair army? ;-(
@Antarath
Matss for faen :P
@preemptivestrike20
Oh, and another thing. I don't appreciate being called an idiot. Not only was your comment personally offensive to me, but to my whole country, the US. What type of gentlemen calls another man and more so a women an idiot for voicing an opinion? This is what people of other countries will be thinking. They'll be thinking what kind of education were you deprived of, because I certainly do think this myself.
Songs: Nightingales (Ananiev), Smuglyanka (Ivanov and Bogachev), Oh, you wide steppe (chorus with basso profundo), Along the Peterskaya (Gavva's dignified drunk and the choir's tiddly one), Festive march (immaculate ballet and fastest goosestep ever).
Ananiev's and Gavva's solos were set up to be vocally very difficult and exposed indeed, and they did brilliantly. Bravo.
Thank you for this!
