If possible, please convey to fellow Israeli's, Druze, etc., that I am just one little soul here hanging out with like minded friends flying the 🇮🇱 flag in support (prayers for a true peace)...While the others across the street are flying the other flag, wanting the d*struction of Israel. It was about jewish settlers in the West Bank, Daniella Weiss, Itamar Ben-Gvir and what I think is called the Hilltop kids, or the Hilltop movement. What I saw was young jewish men, terrorising and assaulting palestinian men, children and families in order to make them leave their homes, it also covered a story about a group of boys from this community setting fire to a family, they burned the palestinian parents alive along with their 18 month old son. Only one of the boys were sentenced. I was absolutely enraged at the mentality of these people as being above others and therefor entitled to act as they please. There was a strong presence of the law & hardly any crime. Our schools were mixed with all races & religions. Personally, I will always remember the time when I visited Druze friends of a friend in Israel in the eighties, and the unforgettable hospitality and warm energy (and great food!) of the village and the Druze families.

I lived on Kibbutz Kfar Giladi for 15 years. I can still name the five Druse of Majdal Shams who worked there in the 70's -90's. We were often guests in one of their homes and followed the growth of Z.'s family closely. We were always warmly welcomed. It's true that very few of it's inhabitants are to this day Israeli citizens and thus do not pay taxes. However, I can see that changing after the tragedy of the 12 innocent children being murdered by a Hezbollah bomb. Majdal Shams is a very vibrant city in the Golan. I wish them only peace.
I have one problem with Majdal Shams. These free people are building their homes and businesses the way they see fit and often in very poor taste, and this makes the place an eyesore. Majdal Shams derives a great part of its income from tourism and could look a lot better! I think their municipality should enact stylistic guidelines such as are in vigor in i.e., Jerusalem. I am, however, very much against the State ordering them to do so. Just saying.
All residents are required to pay taxes. The difference between citizens and residents is that citizens have a right to vote in parliamentary elections and travel documents.

As an American Jew the narrative that I grew up with was that many of the Arabs fled so they could return with the victorious Arab armies to receive the property left by the Jews. Because the Arab armies were not victorious and they were not allowed to return, their misery began. It is quite interesting that this Druze collaborates the story as told him by his grandfather.

It requires the acceptance of every citizen with different background, religion and affiliation to coexist in an ever lasting peace. And also by giving up the mentality and notion of living in a constant state of war .The choice of all parties involved must only lead to peaceful resolution at this critical time. The Druze and every other minority deserves to live and coexist in peace now. Israel offers protection and acceptance to the Druze community , which is a much needed transformation of peace in the region.

As an American Jew the narrative that I grew up with was that many of the Arabs fled so they could return with the victorious Arab armies to receive the property left by the Jews. Because the Arab armies were not victorious and they were not allowed to return, their misery began. It is quite interesting that this Druze collaborates the story as told him by his grandfather.

So true. The islamic world senses power from China and Russia and weakness from the west including Israel. People with common sense in the west get that, but sadly, it seems to be lost on the decision makers and the so-called elite especially in europe. The State of Israel , has been trying to live in peace with all of its neighbors in this very volatile region for a very long time. It requires the acceptance of every citizen with different background, religion and affiliation to coexist in an ever lasting peace. And also by giving up the mentality and notion of living in a constant state of war .The choice of all parties involved must only lead to peaceful resolution at this critical time. The Druze and every other minority deserves to live and coexist in peace now. Israel offers protection and acceptance to the Druze community , which is a much needed transformation of peace in the region.
I appreciate Mr. Ashkar saying clearly what the language in the Middle East is. I knew it, but the west is oblivious to that fact . Suicidal
