Hopefully you didn't get... WHAT? I got like 2 to 4 hours of intro to Storyboarding in film school covering the basics that you just covered with million times more detail, enthusiasm and great examples within... 8 minutes!?! Please keep up this insanely well done educating content, we love you guys.
Would you believe I was actually assigned this video as homework in college? It's great! And I've seen all of those videos, so I get to nerd out about knowing what's actually happening in the scene. This is the best homework assignment ever.
What’s sad is we pay to learn in college and instead they assign us content that was already freely available to us and more accessible. I’d hope our colleges can provide us more than just TH-cam videos if they are going to charge us thousands.
This is _exactly_ what I've been searching for. I was surprised this channel hadn't done a storyboarding episode yet, and now I see that it was well worth the wait. Thank you very much!
I'm a software developer (not the kind of software used in filmmaking). I don't know how I got to these videos, but now I can't seem to be able to leave-not that I'm complaining.
I love all these videos they are helpful and really interesting. I will probably never make a movie/short that needs all this, but for some small shorts I'm planing on making one day it's really helpful and it's really makes you understand what goes on behind the scenes of all the movies we see
I'll remember that as I want to go fully into animation, as a solo artist me and my brother make short animations and I've realized that just sitting down and animating can be a torture some times...
I had a wonderful English teacher in high school ( yes regular ass high school) who had us really attempt to understand film with the focus being Christopher Reeve's version of Rear Window. We had to story board about 10 minutes worth per group. It was not easy and definitely made me appreciate the entire process much more. I really loved that lady and I hope she is still with us and doing well.
in 10 minutes I have a meeting with a client about a storyboarding gig, which I knew nothing about. You have no Idea how you saved my ass. Thanks my guy
Possibly the absolute BEST explanation of storyboarding I have ever seen. Unbelievably clear, concise and informative. A terrific example of the best of what can be seen on TH-cam. Excellent in so many ways.
As an up-and-coming film composer this was really helpful. I have had to compose music based on animated storyboards before and its no easy task. The more detailed the storyboard is, the easier my job becomes.
As a professional storyboard artist, I can say, awesome work man. You've put a lot of crucials in just 8 minutes. Btw, I saw a comment asking for a software? Well, personaly, I'm using a CSP 5, but the best software is the one that serves a purpose. So, it's quite individual.
I did a fair amount of detailed story boarding, many years ago for two shorts. They were quite a bit more than stick-figures that some channels advocate (I spent hours daily for weeks, detailing perhaps a 10 min short, shot by shot, some 200 shots in all & used myself in the mirror as a model!) and want to say that the time and effort you put into presenting this to us, was greatly appreciated, and also inspiring. (I actually used my storyboards to convince some actors to come on board - because they couldn't believe that anyone would actually spend the time to storyboard a "Short"!. Your storyboards though, makes me want to "up" my game to make storyboards a part of marketing tool for my most recent script. Wish there were more sites like yours on TH-cam, that went into storyboarding deeply, with comparisons of "drawn shot"-for-"filmed shot". Thanks again. DJ, NY. .
The unexpected horror aspects are one reason. The information is presented really well but it could be done equally well without the shock value from all those jump scares. Those are cheap tricks in filmmaking.
So, I'm an artist who working on becoming an animator, and I thought storyboarding would be easy, but...yeah. Anyway, I found this and now I feel a lot more informed on how to actually do it. THANK YOU!
Amazing, I decided to start story boarding to script my youtube videos. This really gave me the understanding that a storyboard is what ever you want it to be.
I literally was confused about storyboarding and had been searching for 20 mins💀. And I finally saw this video AND?!?!? ITS JUST THAT EASY THANK YOU SO MUCH
It's almost one o'clock in the morning. I'm debating whether I should go to sleep now and wake up ready for work tomorrow, or not sleep at all and keep watching all of your amazing videos. THANK YOU FOR THE LEARNING!!!!
Absolutely terrific! Terrific! Basically, storyboarding is a way of visualizing through cartoons one's movie before the movie is shot as writers do with their writing. Absolutely fantastic! I'm not into studying filmmaking, but I'm fascinated by it, I've always loved cinema art, but I'm more into writing and it is through the edX course on 'Storytelling for Social Change' that I've got to this video. It also reminded me how much I love cartoons and how much fun it is to draw. Thank you! Keep up the great work! :-)
I love this,a awesome explanation of storyboarding. While learning about storyboarding I felt as if I was watching a documentary. A good combination to keep viewers focused. Keep up the awesome work.
This was FANTASTIC for me. I'm planning a sort of movie trailer for an advertisement and I'm not sure yet, but you know all the info goes into the subconscious and now I'll "ruminate" on it some more.
just came back to watch this video after 2 years working in the marketing department and needed a refresher on story boarding to build create and finalize our ideas! glad to see that I'm still on the same path I was 2 years ago! #consistency and #persistant.
I'm literally just starting in my endeavors to get into film making, and I can't believe how much I already learned in such a short video. Y'all's videos are amazing!!!!
I used to draw storyboard when i was a child, i don't know what its called and i think that i was the only one who "Invent it", i just say hey i got an idea for a shot, how i about i draw it so i don't forget, what can i say ? great mind thinks alike.
Wow, so much detail went into this. Thank you for putting this together. I've been used to just still camera shoots for what I've been creating, and this is opening up my mind to what is possible for the future of my channel. Thanks! New subscriber here.
I'm going to study filmmaking a couple years later but I'll be watching these videos a couple days a week because they're super entertaining and very helpful. Good job!
Thanks RocketJump, you've gained a sub. This was a very informative and excellently constructed video. To many videos out there suffer from information overload but the stuff here is easy to implement! Keep up the good work!
This video is all that's needed for a sub! Well done guys. Great video! Really helped me a lot. I am an e-learning specialist and also make use of storyboards when designing my content. This just gave me that extra bit of knowledge to link everything together.
This video was a golden well of knowledge. fantastic content and fluid information. Really appreciate easy to understand lessons like this. Can't wait to show my students.
And this is why so many comics get turned into films
@Music Account Assume your being sarcastic :-)
That's funny, I see storyboards like a comic book
Adapting a well received comic into film is a really safe choice, cause it already has an active audience which is like guaranteed money and success
@@arsenic.01 Yes, this is true, also
And manga

the "Hopefully you didn't get bored" was actually a pun as the word bored and board are homophones, board as in storyboard
2 to 4 hours...pft i had 6 hours😎\😭
Would you believe I was actually assigned this video as homework in college? It's great! And I've seen all of those videos, so I get to nerd out about knowing what's actually happening in the scene. This is the best homework assignment ever.
What's awesome is your videos, and the work you do behind the scenes on Rocket Jump. Keep it up!
same with me but i got assigned to watch it in grade 7
i got assigned to do it in grade 9 litteraly right now.
grade 9
What’s sad is we pay to learn in college and instead they assign us content that was already freely available to us and more accessible. I’d hope our colleges can provide us more than just TH-cam videos if they are going to charge us thousands.
"I hope you didn't get board"
I got that pun!
I feel special now... Unless it was not a pun to start with
+Film News Report That's exactly how I spelled it in the script. Puns are seldom an accident.
+Kevin Senzaki I now feel special
This is _exactly_ what I've been searching for. I was surprised this channel hadn't done a storyboarding episode yet, and now I see that it was well worth the wait. Thank you very much!
Your channel is indispensable for aspiring filmmakers such as myself. Thanks for all the fantastic work you do!
Oh, so that's why the space battles look so stinking awesome
I'm not in film-making in any way. Studying to be an engineer actually. I still love these vids and find them rly interesting.
ExopMan I'm studying Medicine and i find these Interesting too

I've no idea why someone would downvote this awesome edutainment video

downvote? is this reddit?
