Thanks for watching, everybody! One thing I neglected to mention that I really should have is the fact that the P-24G would make a pretty awesome jazz bass, especially for earlier big band music. Anyway, hope you enjoy(ed) the video!!
my main instrument is euph but I originally wanted to be a trombone player. ended up teaching myself trom for school shows when I was younger and the first one I played was the P-24G. I never knew that the second trigger tuning was non-standard until relatively recently, and would always find it confusing when I saw the tuning of bass trombones listed as Bb/F/Gb/D! I don't have much of an issue with 1st-position slotting with either of the triggers alone, but combined they are a tad funky! lovely instrument all-round though
I think you might be onto something. Marching band and jazz band music definitely benefit from the small flare. However, I still don’t think the ergonomics of this instrument are good enough to march with…
@@SamuelPlaysBrass I believe so, the marketplace seller doesn’t have that much information but it looks like it could be a really nice single trigger Yamaha or possibly bach

Hey, I’ve got a P-24G from 1973 in my closet. Nice horn, brought me many great gigs! Thanks for the video and the memories!
Glad yours has served you well! Thanks for watching!

So many interesting bass trombones out there!
Great video Samuel!🤗👍👍
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I’m pretty sure this model was intended for marching bands due to light weight and a smaller bell flair for direct sound on the beat.

Speaking of bass trombones, I’m getting one on Monday! Also really nice video Sam!
Lucky you! I still don’t own one and probably won’t until I’ve spent a few years in engineering and have my bearings in order financially.
@@SamuelPlaysBrass wow, the one I found is a $300 Yamaha on Facebook marketplace
@@RaichuEnjoy Is it a single-valve YBL-321?
