"The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, established in 1800, is one of four remaining shipyards in the Navy. Its first warship was the 74-gun USS Washington in 1815. The first barracks were built in 1820 and Marines barracks were added in 1827. A hospital was established in 1834." not even close. the swedish marine turned 500 years and that's old. spains in older. but 900 years? you're dreaming lol

You Brits taught us how to land F-4U Corsairs on straight deck carriers. Then you invented the angled flight deck. The inventiveness of your industrialists and oversized balls of your pilots are a major contribution to the subject of this video.

What a great day for a twelve year old as I was then. You probably could have fit the Invincible into one of the Ford's hangers,lol!....but it was the biggest moving object I'd seen in my life at the time.At least all the boys and girls on her were lucky enough to make it home to us safe and sound! 😁👍👍👍👍

Many of our British cousins have made harsh comments lately about malfunctions aboard your new brace of flat tops. Remember that this Ford behemoth took 21 years to design and launch. It's my understanding that on her shake down cruises a plethora of issues manifested themselves. The UK versions are smaller but you built TWO of them! The Queen Elizabeth I and the Prince of Wales are magnificent and extraordinarily complicated vessels that, besides the American cousins, no other navy in the world has ever come close to.

I heard stories from Desert Storm when they sent in the battleships. I believe Missouri was the one they were talking about.
If the US sent a destroyer or a frigate or basically anything else into the area, there would be insurgents on shore shooting at them.
When the battleship rolled in, nobody fired a shot. You can tell what that is just by looking, even if you never heard of a battleship before.

And not a maintenance ship in sight. Putin's carriers need a support convoy just to keep them running.
