If you are completely new to WoW and want to try hardcore for the first time, dont go too hard on guides and routes. Just try to learn the basics and take risks till level 10 even if it kills you. This is the best way to learn the fundamentals. But here are some of my findings especially for the launch of official with less strict rules 1)If you want to survive.. careful going into new areas. The deeper you go, especially close to another new zones or the outer edges, the higher the levels will be. Exploring can be fun but tread lightly. 2)If you go into caves try to partner up. The fast respawns of creatures can be absolutely deadly and they will chain pull (meaning, aggro multiple mops in range of close sight) and run away once their health runs low. Try to slow them, stun or finish them off with a cooldown before they get to run. 3)Always have some level appropriate food on you at all times. Respawns are deadly and you want to be full health quickly before the next patrol finds you. 4) the most important strategy was to use LOS (Line of sight) to your advantage. Meaning, if you try to aggro a creature and you dont want it to cast or shoot at you, you need to run behind a blocked surface they cant shoot you (like walls, big stones or solid buildings) they will stop their cast and run into melee range. Giving you controle over the battlefield. 5) Always watch your back. Yes, it is fun to play with a close cam to your character but sometimes you also want to see what is happening behind you. Trust me. It aint fun leveling to level 11 in westfall, killing level 10 creatures only to be suprised by a lvl 18 dust devil casting a 5 second stun on you, ending your journey right there. Keep your eyes open! 6) Be careful on higher grounds and elevators. This might sound like a given but graphics can be janky in classic. It might look like you can walk on the edge but one missed pixel and you fall to your death. Same with the elevator. You aren't sure the elevator just came up or is about to go down again? Just wait. Nothing feels worse getting to level 30 and being featured in some wow hardcore death compilations and you crying your soul at as if you just lost your child to a car accident just because you couldn't wait 10 more seconds. Stay safe!
Rexp are scammers and kills the game, totally destroying the inmersion, also its a shit stain for content creators mindlessly pushing it with fake praising, each to their own i guess.
Biggest tip I can think of is to have friends you trust enough to run dungeons or group quests with. Too bad all my wow friends quit playing 10+ years ago and "have lives" now. I don't even know how people make friends in wow anymore, the guilds I've tried joining feel like 80% bots supporting some streamer I've never heard of lol.
One thing Ive found on the ptr is be careful when in groups. You might think your doing great cause you got someone to help but if they play badly or you know run away in a cave pulling everything else killing you both, then that decision to group could be what gets you killed.
Yeah it’s very important to make sure you don’t have to go AFK to often. And logging out without being in a city can be dangerous. So It will be smart to plan what to do before just pressing logout
Here's what i did about 1 month ago. Lvl 55 hunt, just finished all the jinthalor quests. Proud af was bragging in my guild about my achievement while chilling on the beach next to raventusk village. Got owned by the elite turtle. Dont be like me
i am 100% sure that some ppl on lvl 60 will equip random lvl 55 gear and whisper random ppl "hey i just reached lvl 60 without dying and i achived my goal,do you want to makgora with me because i am about to delete this char anyway and i want to transfer it to classic era" and when ppl accept makgora duel,they will simply equip bis pvp gear and crush them

One advice that I learned the hard way. Take care of business before playing. You don’t want a nature emergency call in the middle of a play session😂

It's better to switch your pet to defensive in case of disconnect. By doing this you'll have more time to reconnect.
I would probably do that in the open world in case of a DC, but in dungeons it should be on passive :)
I personally dont like restedxp that much i prefer checking wowhead for quests with good rewards instead the fastes route.
That might also not be to bad when playing hardcore. Especially if you can make your own route for blue weapons
