The best advice for a new road biker is to get your advice from lots of different sources, weigh them against each other, and do what most of them say that makes sense to you, your aspirations, and your budget. If it were me, I'd go with an alloy frame in the right size, alloy wheels, rim brakes, a 2x9 or 2x10 drive train, a decent pair of cycling shorts or bibs, and flat pedals. Get your saddle height right and maybe fiddle with its fore and aft position to get as comfortable as you can. Experiment with hand positions, and change them frequently as you ride. Use the drops and the hoods. Finding yourself physically and psychologically comfortable on your bike is the key to enjoying the ride. If after riding for a few months you're still having fun on your bike, and you're able to go for a couple of hours, covering 30 miles or more without a stop, then start thinking about upgrades, first your tires, then your apparel. Caveat: going to clip-in pedals is a big, scary step for a lot of people. Some people ride for decades on flats. Don't let anyone pressure you into going there if you don't want to.

I would say the strattos s5 is kinda' like their top tier entry level, strattos s7,s8 & helios a7 as mid tier and helios a8 above as top tier... I owned a 2020 strattos s7 rim brake... Ouuuhhhh and i can tell you it's a great bike for the price point

I ride a strattos S7 2022 for a year. Have done 2000 km on it and the only thibg I can say is that this is the best price/quality you can have on the market.
It is reliable, responsive, fun, and no kiding, it is a nice bike to see. There is one thing to change if you wanna race with it: the wheels are just too heavy. Except that, it is full ok for beginners and mid tier riders.
And for riders like me who loves racing but have no budget, it is a super bike.
Plus beating guys with some specialized, bianchi, cervelo etc etc with an unknow brand and see all of them looking my gear on the lune is just too satisfying.
    Kiss from France mates.

There is also a 105 rim version of the strattos s5 which I think is the best bang for buck entry level bike if you don't ride in the rain.

I got a Strattos S4 last years as my first serious road bike and I love it so far. Previously I used to ride retro road bikes, with the shifter on the downtube, so the Tiagra shifters feel amazing to me. The rim brakes don't bother me especially because, as with the shifter, I never used disk brakes in my life so I can't judge the difference. Only minus to my model is the very small gap in the fork and rear triangle which make it close to impossible to mount larger tires. Other than that, so far the bike held on tight to some pretty serious potholes which I felt more than the bike did for sure.

I use Stratos-8D for many century rides (100 miles). Still training to reach Double Century though. I find Stratos-8D able to reach more than 44 Km/hr and very comfortable for endurance rides. If you want to lighten the bike perhaps you might need to upgrade to Fulcrum wheelset, carbon seatpost and carbon drop bar. Although I find the original set is already more than adequate for endurance rides.

How strong carbon of polygon strattos did you know. Quality n durability....

The quality of the carbon is great :) We haven't had any issues. The Strattos is still very responsive but is nice an comfortable too. The Helios is a little more stiffer but that comes with being an aero bike too :) Hope this helps!
