I believe this car was featured in Hot Rod magazine as well. I loved it then, and I still love it today !!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Excellent craftsmanship!!!!
LOVE IT but then I've always had a warm spot in my heart for the freaks and it doesn't get a whole lot freakier than a blown Packard flatty : ) 2 thumbs up, 3 if I had 'em.
@Justin magill Not yet. Been busy with a few projects. I have a ticket to get it done but just need to make time. Needs a tune up is all and is ready to flog!
As before, love it! Looks like you've swapped out your earlier videos, I guess because of more modifications you've made. But besides the overall cool factor it looks like it handles nicely, so here's a question I didn't ask earlier. With something like what you've built, how do you set the front end? Are there calculations based on wheelbase (which, btw, what is it?), weight, weight distribution, etc, or is it just a matter of successive approximations?
You bet. It’s 8-1 compression with Ross pistons and 8” connecting rods. It’s 333 cubic inches and runs a custom Iskendarian cam that the man himself made for the car. The head is stock and has been cleaned up to remove any hot spots. It’s got 4 Stromberg 97 carburetors modified for boost. All carbs open at the same time. Supercharger makes 4~5 psi of boost depending on how the belt is that day. It’s got some issues that I’ll correct one day but till then, Brian
Yes I do still have the "Packard" as we call it. Shoot me and email Thomasspeedworks@GMAIL.com I would entertain the right offer possibly. The car has a different engine in it now. I believe I have a video posted of the engine now. Well it's the engine that was in the car at the time of the Hot Rod magazine feature.
Richard Lee Cabrera Jr. At the time of this video, the fronts were 32 ford 18” And the tears are custom made 40 spoke from rally America in California. It’s now got 33 Chevrolet standard coupe 44 spoke 18” rims.
Hi, Mr. Thomas i have the hot rod feb 2010 issue and let me tell you that your car has inspired me. I have a ford 50 f100 cab and a slant 6 engine and plan on building a little roadster. Just wanted to know... How long is yours? Thanks. I just pressed the like button!

That thing sounds amazing. Love that packard straight 8. Very cool.
I have a '48 Packard with the original straight 8 in it that I have a similar design for. Your roadster is awesome. Definitely an inspiring build.
i luv bombers...this is the sweetest one ever
If you do a search for supercharged Packard or just Packard, there videos of the car running a hill climb event and the sound is amazing
This is THE sexiest thing I've ever heard.
Unique supercharger setup, dang
I bet it's a torque monster
For a 75 year old engine platform, it does very well and does not disappoint 👌🏻
NASTY!! Love this car!
I would like that engine installed at the end of my bed .
would definitely sleep better
That is a bitchin car. I wish I lived close to see it in person. I have never ever heard a straight 8 that sounds like this one.
Really super, just about perfect.
Mad max dude

Bad ride 😎👍

I am dying to know, where is the gas tank? Did you use the cowl tank? Thanks

What starter did you end up using?
Any details on the engine?

Did you get rid of it ?
Still have it. 👍🏻
Has this ever been on a dyno?
Made plans to do so but never got it done. Needs to be run for sure. I am very curious what it will do.
What rims and tires are those?
