I’m so happy your finger wasn’t broken Kimmie and your daughter is so sweet . I’m so proud of her for helping you and could hear she was looking out for her mama, as well as Mr. Tootles. Praise God for family .🙏♥️
This video reminds me of the style of when I started watching you years and years ago(you were the first TH-cam channel that I subscribed to). I love this style of videos. 😊
Most of my adult life I never made my bed, but years ago when I started following you I remember you saying if there’s nothing else you do all day making your bed is simple. You feel some accomplishment. There’s just something about walking into your bedroom with the bed made. I’m loving your OG style vlogs. Day in the life, cooking and cleaning vlogs.
I remember you were the original visual asmr. Watching you fold and stack towels especially when the kiddos were all young and it was summer. Towel mountains. I used to get a coffee and just watch you fold it was sooooo calming
Great that you aren’t broken. My Dear, you look very tired. Please rest. You’ve done a wonderful job getting things up and running in a new house. Wonderful video and take care of yourself. Love 💕 and Hugs. 💙💙💙
Woo hoo, your finger isn't broken! I didn't think it was, but I know it hurt bad! Try to tell a woman not to do anything and things get done 😂 My second child was born 4 days before Christmas, and I had a cesarean, but I cooked the whole Christmas dinner. To this day, I don't know how I did it. I need to make meatloaf in muffin tins next time. It looks so cute. Have an awesome weekend, and I hope your finger heals soon. 😊
Ohhh my goodness. I am so sorry you are dealing with so much pain while moving, working, and being a hero mom. My mom deals with severe carpal tunnel too. Its really ruff to work with. Hope you get feeling better soon and so glad your finger isn't broken.
An onion chopper will chop not only onion, but just about any vegie you need to chop. I use mine for peppers, carrots, garlic, potatoes and so on. I have days I cannot stand long to cook; and when my supply of chopped veggies is not enough I use my chopper. It can be a little hard to push down on some vegies, but it is worth it.
Put a thermometer in your oven to confirm the temperature. Don’t rely on the gauge/dial. It seems your oven may run cooler than what you’re setting it at. A thermometer inside your oven will let you know if you need to up the temp. Glad your finger isn’t broken. 🎉 Sending healing prayers🙏
Ever since October I've been making my own bread, hamburger buns, hoagie buns and flour tortillas. I save the wrappers from the sticks of butter and put them in a freezer bag and any time I need to grease something, I just take one of them out and it works great! I really need to do meatloaf this way next time.
The ones I make is from the woman on TH-cam, The Pioneer Home -Jenilee Hardman. She has a video on making hamburger buns and they are easy and really good.@@gohawks3571
It does take longer for a gas oven to preheat when baking, most times. I have found that if you have a convection gas oven that it heats up more quickly and circulates the air more evenly keeping the temp better for baking. Just not that if you use your convection baking button, its often a good idea to set it for 25 degrees cooler than the recipe calls for unless your oven runs cold.
I did the same thing to my middle finger playing Volleyball in high school Umpteen years ago lol. And now every time the weather gets colder or I bent the finger for too long it clicks. And its a bit painful. Watch out for that in the future after your finger is healed. Heres to a speedy recovery. ❤
I'm glad your finger is not broken! If your oven is Samsung, I have that oven. I have had the regulator go out twice. If you hear the gas going on and off while it's preheating it's probably that. I will also turn the oven off when it says it's up to temp and double check. If the regulator is off it will not be up at temp when I start the oven again right away. I will use the convection setting if it's not working until my husband can fix it. The convection will make the oven a bit hotter and circulate the air around the whole interior. The best thing about the Samsun oven is the proof setting for bread. Your bread will proof so much quicker. love that.
Glad it's not broken maybe look into a wrist brace? I have chronic pain/illnesses and we learn to adapt. Your right I like to make the bed it's a good start to the day. Be gentle with yourself you've just moved in!
Back in 2020 I broke that same finger in the same place at my work. It took a couple of weeks for the break to finally show on X-rays because of the swelling. After about 8 weeks it finally healed. I still can’t bend it fully like I could before. Hope you don’t have any lingering problems with your finger Kimmie.
If you haven’t tried a wrist brace meant for sleeping in, I highly recommend it. It helped my carpal tunnel more than anything. It keeps you from bending it for all those hours you are sleeping and it is cushiony and comfortable. I use Ace Night Wrist Sleep Support. Hope it helps.
Re gas ovens. When I tested my gas oven with a thermometer, I found that it held the right temperature, but it took far longer to preheat than the ding led me to believe. So, everything took longer than it should have to bake. Once I started preheating long enough (usually about 20 minutes instead of 10), all my baked goods came out great according to the recipe timing.
I'm glad your finger isn't broken. It was so nice to see your family helping get dinner ready and everybody looking forward to it. Sometimes, I form meatloaf into patties and cook them on the George Forman grill. Meatloaf in 10 minutes or less! This is usually in the summer, because I don't use the oven when it's really hot outside. I think I'll try the muffin cups while it's cold.
Kimmie, I don't make homemade bread. I don't love it that much to spend time making it. l always keep an extra loaf or 2 in the freezer to insure we don't run out. A simple, abundant life :) xoxo
My young grandkids and I called lunches with a bunch of random stuff, “Crazy lunch” They are now older and only visit in the summer but the first thing they ask is if we have food for Crazy Lunch.❤
For my family I bake homemade bread, buns, English muffins, and bagels. So much better for you. I am so glad you did not break your finger big hugs to you . 😃🤗
So glad your finger is not broken Kimmy, accidents can be so painful. hopefully, the bruising will not last too long. good on your daughter helping you out and hubby. i've had severe bruising to my left hand not sure what i have done to it though. The house is coming along things take time. take care love to all xxx
I had carpal tunnel in both wrists years ago and had surgery in Canada. I was told by my doctor to take 300mg of B-6 to cut the swelling down. I know all about the horrible pain you are going through. I used a brace with a steel plate in it and it helped so much. Hope you feel better soon!
I have a gas stove too and had to adjust the oven temperature. The manual should tell you how to adjust it, I had to make mine 10 degrees hotter. Put a thermometer in the stove and let it heat up for about 15 minutes before you read the temp (after it preheats) then adjust if needed. Before we figured out how to adjust the temperature, we set the stove ten degrees higher.
Yay! I’m glad your finger isn’t broken! You should get a hanging thermometer for the inside of your oven so you can see what the real temperature is and then you can adjust the temp of your oven up higher.
Thanks for this type of video. I ended up with carpal tunnel surgery. It was easy and the results really improved my life. So please don’t worry if that’s the direction your doctor wants.
I needed something to watch while I prepared dinner, Kimmy to the rescue! My favorite bread recipe is Sue Becker’s from The Essential Home-Ground Flour Book, it’s fab! I don’t grease my USA pans, except for the Pullman top, and they never stick. Congrats on the new home! ❣️
You have been such a homemaking motivator to me since I found you all those years ago! Me a new mama and SAHM at that, and always enjoyed your videos, tips and sense of humor! Love these type of videos! Take care and enjoy your new home!🏠 ❤

How do you feel when you smell/taste it. What other ways do you like it. What does it bring to their mind when they eat it? How does it taste to them? What do they like about the food? Does it taste like they thought it would? What’s different? Or just sit with them and share the plate and say nothing. Both is developing, nourishing and bonding. ❤
I have the same model of Bosch! I’ve had it since 1999 and I just can’t kill it! No matter the type of bread, the dough comes out so smooth and perfect. Love your videos!
Feel your pain , I’ve had surgery on one wrist because carpal tunnel’s so bad , and got have other one done but ware wrist support honestly helps so much x

Hey, have you considered surgery for the carpal tunnel? It is outpatient surgery, and recovery isn't too bad. A bidet really helps if it's on your dominant hand, if you catch my drift.
With gas oven the heat/flames is usually right at the bottom or even at the sides. Very rate at the top. Because none is directly below i usually end up with bread that is white at the top and perfectly brown on the bottom or sides. If i use medium settings and put my bread higher instead of the middle rack it would get some color. Hope this helps. Sometimes i just flip the bread upside down in the pan😂
Hi, I hope you talked to the hand Dr about your carpal tunnel too. You need that addressed also. I've had both mine sorted and I'm so grateful I have. Take care. I realize you've just moved, but please try and rest during the day, as well as getting sleep at night. ❤
I started learning how to make bread in childhood. My mom made bread and I loved to help in the kitchen. As an adult I've become gluten intolerant and I make my own gluten free dairy free bread. I'm also allergic to the protein in animal milk, cow, goat, whatever it makes me sick. I love Loopy Whisks bread from her cookbook Baked To Perfection. Following her guidelines I make my own gluten free flour blend.
Edit: I came back to put my bread recipe below. It's really easy☺️ You made me realize I might have carpal tunnel! My finger is killing me right now. After this last move, for a year I was dropping stuff. I had pain before, but the first time it happened the urgent care said I had an infection. So I always thought it was some kinda immune system thing. Thanks for sharing (and I'm so sorry it hurts 😔)! I will come back and leave my super simple bread recipe I found in a comment section. No kneading! But it's a standard size loaf, not like those big pans. It fits a normal pan😋🍞
Simple Sandwich Bread 3C all purpose flour 3T vital wheat gluten 1/2T Salt (T=Tablespoons, C=Cups) 1/2T sugar 1/2T Instant yeast 1.5-2 C warm water Olive oil Butter (for the pan) Mix four, gluten, and salt. Make a well. Add sugar and yeast, then fill in well with 1.5 C warm water. Let sit 2 minutes. Butter 6" loaf pan generously. Stir dough. Drizzle water if it's too dry. Remove dough, oil bowl, then replace dough. Cover & let rise 1 hr in warm spot. Cover dough with oil. Stir it in (don't worry about trying to be perfect; it will seem like you aren't doing anything. Do it anyway 😁). Place dough in pan. Cover & rise 25 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F Bake 45 minutes (mine actually takes 35 minutes, but I'm at altitude). Rest 20+ minutes. Enjoy!
😂 I slipped on ice in 2022. I crawled to the car. Finished pumping my gas, drove home and then finally went to the ER to find out I broke my back. Was in a turtle shell for 2 weeks. Women never stop working when sick or injured.
Hope the finger heals quickly! Is the kitchen working out so far? Are you liking the locations you picked for the things? Dont be afraid to change anything if the flow doesn't feel right. 🎉
Hope your finger and wrist heal soon. We love meatloaf and mash potatoes too.I keep a thermometer in my electric oven. It's fickle, sometimes it's low and other times the temp is right on.
O WOW! I just saw the drawers in your freezer- did those come with the freezer? Did that freezer come with the house or did you buy those awesome drawers somewhere. SO many questions about that freezer with those lovely drawers.
Yay! So glad it's not actually broken. Praying you'll heal soon. What style of apron are you wearing at the beginning of this video? If love to find a pattern.

A great way to mix meatloaf is in your kitchen aid, very quick way to mix
100% I have 4 men in my house and I make 4 pounds of meatloaf for one meal…the kitchen aide is my savior!

As Mom’s we are strong when it comes to our family.

Sorry about your finger and wrist. I have a rupture tendon in my thumb so I feel your pain love your videos feel better
Kids eating off your plate is actually the best way to develop their pallet. I you ask them if they want nutritious food they will most always say no.
But fix a plate more than you can eat and sit by them and let them eat your food and you can talk to them about it too…why you love the taste/crunch/texture. Does it hold a memory for you? How do you feel when you smell/taste it. What other ways do you like it. What does it bring to their mind when they eat it? How does it taste to them? What do they like about the food? Does it taste like they thought it would? What’s different?
Or just sit with them and share the plate and say nothing.
Both is developing, nourishing and bonding.

Mix four, gluten, and salt.
Preheat oven to 375°F
Bake 45 minutes (mine actually takes 35 minutes, but I'm at altitude).
Family team work x my sons nickname is toodles too 😂 how funny x
Omg! I just have to say you look fabulous! What eating plan do you do?

I love making homemade bread. I use a white bread recipe that was my grandma's. So good
Yay! So glad it's not actually broken. Praying you'll heal soon. What style of apron are you wearing at the beginning of this video? If love to find a pattern.
