I'll miss him too but think about it like this way. The reason he lasted as long as he did is not because he's the strongest but because he's the smartest he's the most clever he's the most prepared as he says in that season 9 episode that you just quoted "you're good but I'm crowley" meaning he will always find a way to be on top and the only reason he's gone is because he wished it as opposed to someone just simply finally beating him. Because you and I both know no one beats Crowley

We've seen him in Linda Tran, he had regular red eyes. It's only in this vessel that he has this much power, or these bloody red eyes. Very imteresting.
I think it's more to do with the fx getting better than anything else ❤
AngelDove well, it's also a really interesting change. These eyes show more character, and if they wanted continuity they could have kept the original ones. When he is in Linda Tran and trying to escape with the tablet, he just runs, instead of disappearing as he normally does. And when he is in the one random orgy lady, he shows a similar lack of powers. Maybe the first meatsuit you ever get is the strongest? And I'm pretty sure we see crossroads demon eyes that are regular red after this, but I'd have to double check. Good point, though.
But they then would be behind in the FX. Angel eyes also changed over time.. And Lucifer gained red eyes.
I think in the end the eyes would have looked the same with Mrs Tran if they had the FX back then.
And as for disappearing Vs running.
I think that's just the writing plot for the episode.. After all if he had disappeared then... Then the episode pretty much would have been done and Mrs Tran and Kevin wouldn't have ran off ❤
And there might have been wards preventing teleporting in the main areas. I don't know but I don't think it has anything to do with first vessel being stronger.. We don't even know if that was his first vessel either. As nice is it is to speculate and think sometimes about more depth with characters.. we need to credit writers and FX for their episode plots and special effects. Also we don't become disappointed when we find out that there wasn't as much depth to the scenes etc.
