I’m starting Nursing school this fall, and you don’t scare me off from the profession. You just make me realize there is so many layers to the career field. I will stay watching your channel whether you do nursing topics are not. I think you are so honest and it’s refreshing watching your channel.
Everyone has their own desires and choices in their nursing field. I think your honesty is fabulous. People need to hear the good and the bad to become more knowledgeable regarding the profession. Not everything is peachy. I got burnt-out working in the hospital setting and changed to Occupational Health Nursing and absolutely love it! Keep up the great work Liz!!
One of the best professor’s I ever had; had a MSN and PhD in education. I plan on using my DNP in the political arena. Improving nursing education and our nation’s healthcare is critical. I started writing Bill testimonies to get my feet wet. Good luck to you. Find what you’re looking for and go for it. Life is too short to be unhappy, that’s why I decided to get my DNP at 51.

You’re very intelligent. That can be a curse at times. I feel it’s a lot harder to live in a happy little bubble doing the same thing for many years. I hope you find your peace and the space that makes you feel like you found home.
I absolutely adore you Liz, I love these rambles. I love that you're honest about the nursing profession. You can't please everyone, but this is your truth and this is how you are feeling, so you can't be apologetic about it. I am a nurse, and I've been at it for 6 month and I finally found the courage to move on. Nursing is incredibly hard, and there is this expectation that you need to bedside, or work at a hospital etc, I am so happy that I have found this channel, I know I've said that before, but I'm so burnt out. And I am so glad to have finally found a channel that speaks the truth about how insanely difficult nursing is and how you're not glamorizing it because we all know that its not as glamorized as social media makes it seem to be, I can say that these videos do make me feel better about where I am at, simply because I don't feel alone, which is incredibly easy to feel when you're scrolling through social media. Thank you for being you, and for being honest with your viewers.
I’m starting nursing school this fall and I love your honesty. I’m also a non-traditional student and have enough work/life experience to know that every job has its own set of issues. Please continue to do what you do, there’s thousands of us who love your content.
I’m not even a nursing student yet (just a prospective ABSN student with a journalism degree, currently taking prereqs) and I really appreciate you being so honest about nursing and being an NP. You don’t scare me off! You motivate me and remind me that there are so many opportunities I can pursue with a BSN. I especially like your honesty about the NP side of things, as I fear I will jump into NP school after burning out in my first nursing job, with a “grass is greener” mindset. You keep me informed! P.S. I love this video style!!
As someone who just graduated with a BSN (during a pandemic), there’s not enough real talk. Healthcare workers, especially nurses, are burning out faster than they can be replaced, and your videos have always made me feel better about the nursing profession because you’re always straightforward. I feel better going into the workforce for the first time since I’m not wearing rose colored glasses. Thank you for being honest with us and not trying to over-romanticize your life and your profession (like most other influencers). Whatever you decide to do, they will be lucky to have you!
Thank you for your rambling thoughts! I, too, am in that weird spot of not knowing where I’m going within nursing. Currently I’m taking a break because I’ve had a lot of doubts since I began working as a nurse and became burnt out progressively with my roles as an RN. It’s definitely not like nursing school paints it out to be and I’ve also been frustrated with the whole healthcare system. I love your content and I don’t think it’s discouraging at all to voice your opinions. I find myself being more open and honest, too, and your videos encouraged me to begin taking care of my mental health, which was suffering due to the burnout. It was really rough to help myself when I had given my all to help others, but you cannot pour from an empty cup. Thank you, Nurse Liz!
I love rambling Liz who actually says the real things that many people are too scared to say. You’re the only nursing channel I watch for a reason (also for the house updates and kiddos) I’m here for the heated and REAL conversations of healthcare. If you want to work in healthcare and be blissfully ignorant about the burn out and issues with the system, we don’t claim you
Thank you for being honest. I love you channel! I have been watching your videos since I started nursing school, and I sort of feel like we’ve had parallel journeys with nursing this past year. I have been a nurse for a year and during that time I have become more and more disillusioned with profession. I became a nurse to care for vulnerable populations who face discrimination, but I have found that the system is stacked against us. The politics involved with bedside nursing have taken a toll on me, and the long hours leave me with no time to enjoy my short time on this earth. I am looking for a different job within the field that will allow me to help others and have time for myself. Please continue speaking your truth. I hope that you find something that brings you joy. People spend years at jobs they hate wasting the most valuable commodity we have, time.
I’ve been a nephrology FNP and loving it! Straight from NP school. 7 years and going strong. We do provide very discounted visits to the uninsured as a charity. Love specialty nursing!
hi! i’m an FNP student and i work in dialysis as an RN. would you be able to tell me what you like about working as a nephrology FNP?? do you have to work on-call and have to go to different dialysis centers?? just wondering how the schedule is like! thanks!
@@taradrienne no call as we understand it. But every other weekend I round at the hospital. Usually we have 1-3 patients there and it takes me about 2-3 hours with a drive. I don’t round in the hospital on week days. My schedule is very diverse! I do go to different dialysis clinics in 4 different towns. I live in rural area. Monday afternoon, Tuesday full day, Thursday afternoon and twice a month on Friday I see patients in the office. I love to know my patients well from dialysis clinics. I love being in a different locations, office days are the hardest for me. I love to be on the road and listed to audiobooks
Five months away from finishing NP school and planning on going into primary care. I needed this! Been watching your vids since nursing school. Thank you for your honesty!
Liz thank you for making these videos! You are absolutely right about the healthcare system. I feel like social media portrays a different world than the real world. I’ve been a registered nurse for a month now. Before nursing school and before actually working in the field, I NEVER had an idea of how the broken healthcare system is. Its SAD. You’re right you did not make these videos to bum anyone out it’s just the reality and yes it’s scary.
Im glad that you are able to be honest with your updates. I can resonate with the burnout in the nursing world. I felt like when I signed up for nursing school, the idea of it was so much different than what I actually do on a day to day basis. I am so thankful i follow people like you, wholelifenurse, ritual nurse to know my worth of being a nurse and what the world offers!
Molly, would you go back and choose the field again? Do you feel like nursing school just didn’t prepare you for what the day to day would be like- emotionally and/or clinically?
@@sarahtoler5878 to be quite honest, it is hard to say depending on the field you go in and the staff you have to support you. To have a good staff, and area of interest makes it all the better. But my mental health has suffered severely from being thrown into situations that I was never prepared for but expected to do.
@@mollyoconnor281 I was an audiologist and did not enjoy it, so I started a bridge program in 2017 (no BSN to a masters in 2 years). Realized that path wasn’t for me because I hadn’t had the chance to really work in nursing and choose a specialty and you’re kind of stuck at that point. Went back to a couple of other ABSN programs but just felt the time wasn’t right. I’m just really concerned about the mental and physical toll that nursing currently takes on people but also know it CAN be a fulfilling and meaningful career. So who knows 😢 just seems like no matter how you prep, you can’t imagine what it’s like until you’re there.
I’m so proud of you. This is your journey and if you feel happier Stick to it! This is what they mean when they say nursing is a flexible career. Though these topics are hard, I feel more prepared to enter nursing and understand the good and bad. You got this Liz!
I am totally in the weird spot right now in my life as well. I've had the same thought you did in regards to a career you have chosen and that being the one thing you ever do. It blows my mind and honestly, it's so scary to let that sink in. You're inspiring me that it's okay to try new things and continue learning. Thank you for having these conversations with us! I can't wait for you to have your own podcast one day!!lol
Liz, I love your channel and I'm glad that you're finding something that works for you! I just wanted to challenge your perceptions of concierge medicine a little bit. At least in some Western states, many concierge medicine clinics operate like a sliding scale or free clinic where people choose to pay a monthly fee (usually instead of purchasing a high deductible insurance plan) in order to have access to all of the primary care appointments that they might need. The appointments tend to be longer and the providers often really get to know their patients. I understand the draw to a free clinic for sure. I used to work in insurance and started my nursing school journey 2 years ago (which is how I found your channel!). I now work in an ICU but I also work at a free clinic one day a week because it fills me up.
I love this chat! I'm going back to school for my bsn this fall. The goal is to eventually become an NP. There are so many opportunities within nursing and I'm looking forward to exploring all of my interests and options
I am at a free clinic now and it is so rewarding and with the right community supporters and donors we are able to do a lot of great work; however, there are still a lot of gaps to care and we aren’t able to do standard of care because people cannot afford it. Also in my opinion, the patients tend to be more complex because of their lack of access to care. There also is still the difficulty with FQHCs that there is still that big push to get all those complex needs met in that 15 minute time frame. This was a good format. I like to hear your quick updates. It’s interesting seeing someone who has had similar experiences and thought processes as they navigate our profession (nursing).
I am an RN and going to NP school. It has been so refreshing because I have Ben going through the same thing as a RN. Just not excited about anything and have been doing lots of soul searching. It’s nice to know we all go through it sometimes. Keep it up, really enjoy your channel.
I am almost done with my FNP, this is refreshing to hear. I feel like a lot of people butter up the nursing field. I love my clinical at a federal funded clinic.. it is great!
You took the words right out of my mouth at the end! I feel like I would be failing if I choose not to use my degree as intended, but it is something I'm highly considering
Thank you for sharing! I feel the same way about primary care in the US. It is critical for well-being and radically unaffordable for those who need it most.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! I am already struggeling with what to do after finishing my degree and feel kind of a pressure to get into a specialty I am trained for. So your words really give me a heads up to do what I like rather than what I feel I should. Greetings from Germany XX
Hi Liz! Been watching your videos for 2 years since I decided to switch to nursing. I just got accepted into a psychiatric nursing program! I found your videos among others great and realistic
Hiiii Nurse liz, I have to sayyyyy, 6 mins into your video, I smiled sooooooo biggg, because I truly see myself through you. I relate on so many level, to everything you said. I am currently i my second year of NP school while working full time in an outpatient facility. I have to say, I am already burned out as a Nurse, however burnout fron administration, protocols, etc. What I enjoy most about my job is knowing that I work for the underserve community, I educate my patient on the daily basis, knowing that I am able to convey useful and valuable information to my patient, break the barrier from health illiteracy, truly makes me wake up every morning and know that as a future FNP I should aspire to work for federal health qualify clinic. I fight daily with health insurances, even specialist offices just to get my patients to wherever they need. I absolutely love youuuu for this videooo, am glad to know that I am not alone. I absolutely love patient educations, and I will pull whatever effort I need to, just to see that the little information I provided goes such a long way.
thank you for sharing your honest feelings of burnout as an NP! i watch fromcnatonp on youtube who also expressed she is burnt out! i graduate the FNP program in december and i still don’t know what i want to work in. i just got my clinical placement in neuro so hopefully it goes well!!
I’m new to your channel, and I have had all sorts of jobs. Recently I have considered EMT and up into nursing because I want a real career. I’m sure you’ve addressed this in one of your many videos, but I look forward to your content to see if nursing is right for me.
I’ve been a stay at home mom for years. My kids are growing up and I am going to start college in a couple months! I’ve always wanted to become a nurse but thinking of becoming a teacher instead. The great thing is we have so many options. We can always change our plans.
I am so thankful that someone else has my feelings about nursing theory. I am currently in my graduate nursing theory class, with so many papers and little benefit. I despised theory in undergrad and I really despise it in grad school.
I love this video. I'm a nursing student (graduating in December woot woot!) and I came I to nursing for the flexibility of career paths. So great to see that someone with even more advanced education is also able to make changes and working to find the fit that works for you! (Also, not trying to be political, but this is why I don't want to nurse in the US, not able to provide care due to lack of coverage would be devastating to me)
I've been an RN over 35 years. I'm still happily working in home health in Ohio. I'm in my 60s and plan to continue working part time. I feel lucky to have the great income, Nursing is hard. It has always been hard. If you are looking for easy don't become a nurse. I transitioned to psych nursing 30 years ago and became much happier. You have to find your nitch. I am getting coding/billing certification now so as I'm older can do remote from home. I agree Liz about all the nonsense classes. And the insurance companies dictate what they will pay for to Drs. and NPs. I always have felt they would abuse NPs so I never pursued it. You work as Drs but are paid less. Select jobs will be better than others. Enjoy your channel!
I am starting studying nursing next year and you haven’t bummed me out at all.❤️❤️❤️ But I’m old enough to realise that any job has good and bad parts. Anyone who doesn’t think this is kidding themselves. I’m guessing you’re more burnt out by the US health system rather than the profession. I’m in Australia and I don’t know how you cope over there! I hope you find some direction darling! Love your channel. 😘😘😘
I’m not a nurse. I am stay at home mom, wife, and I’m earning my certification in personal training to run an online coaching business from home (while currently 7 months pregnant with our third). I’ve thought about nursing but it doesn’t make sense for my life right now. But I also want to help people do the things they can to improve their health. It makes me sad that there are things we can do to take care of our own health but people don’t know what to do or they think there is nothing they can do. Life is a journey. Do what works for you and thank you for sharing. Your not alone in how you feel.
I think personal training is so important to helping people improve their health. I had a personal trainer a few years ago who moved, but I learned so much from him. No doctor or nurse ever said to me hey like what do you eat and what type of exercise do you enjoy. My personal trainer taught me so much about how I could be active in a way that fit my lifestyle and how to properly nourish my body with what I liked. If this is what you love, then absolutely keep doing it because there are people who will thank you and think of you when they are staying healthy and making good choices. Also congratulations on baby number 3!
Loved this!! I am a FNP and have worked in oncology for > 15 years. I made a huge jump last year and essentially a career change using my oncology background in pharmaceutical sales. I sometimes feel like I’m not a “real NP” working in this role however what I’m getting paid now, flexibility and all the perks working for big pharma is phenomenal.
I was able to get to know NP's at a FQHC while I was in Americorps helping the underinsured get Medicaid and loved it! Patient educators very gratifying. The FQHC has its own Pharmacy, gym, mental health dept and dental office. I learned soo much about Nursing and NP life. Finishing my prereqs now, Im thinking about Women's Health and possibly midwifery. You would make an amazing instructor.
I am absolutely 💯 agree on everything Liz is talking about. Why NP students have to take so many unnecessary classes for our future role as a provider? Theory class is definitely a HUGE waste! So glad someone else shares my philosophy of Nursing profession! Thanks, Liz!
So just an idea..since teaching people important topics like blood sugars and this is important to you while you are figuring out your career path have you thought about getting certified as a diabetes educator? You would be limited to just diabetes patients but you could work in a variety of places (FQHC included) and build a diabetes education program if they don’t have one..you wouldn’t have to fight with insurance to cover it..the only downside is the insurance would only cover so many visits in a calendar year. The cost for individuals could be lowered by including them in a group (which could be as low as 3 people)..I worked with a DSME RN and dietitian while getting my doctorate and I learned so much of what goes in to a program (plus RNs with advanced degrees could do it) just saying..kind of specializing but you’d have your education piece and the insurance thing mostly taken care of and you don’t have to fix everything but if you run across a concern the patient has less likelihood of falling through the cracks because of your medical knowledge and you would know what and to whom to communicate it to and you could build it into your contract to only work a certain amount of days especially if you have a dietitian working with you..Sorry this is so long
I taught in the classroom in a BSN program for five years. There was no cattiness or bullying between professors and actually a lot of support and camaraderie. I am guessing it depends on where you teach and what track you are on (Tenure track teaching can be a different story--academia, in general, is fraught with difficulties). There are battles if you want to innovate, but I found it completely possible. It sounds like your consulting gig is great for you. You sound like an entrepreneur to me, even though you said you're not interested in business :-) There are lots of options!
many people end up working in something that is not directly related to their educational background and THAT'S OK we change and sometimes we have an idea in our head of what we would like to do, but when we experience it we realize it isn't what we had in mind. Rather than choose to stay doing something we don't like, it's better to adapt and change and find something we enjoy, because doing something we feel we 'have to' do will stir up negative emotions with a lasting effect on all aspects of our life. Also, I always say, you don't know what you don't know. Sometimes you have to experience what you don't like to realize what you do. And while it can be a bit disappointing realizing the reality of a situation is not what you had in mind, every time you say 'no' to something that isn't for you you get closer to saying 'yes' to that one thing that is. Just continue to grow and learn more about yourself and what you want and the rest will fall into place :)
BE HONEST! I am in nursing school and that is why I watch your channel. Some of my professors are either retired or active RNs and they let it all out in telling us how the field really is, especially after the experiences they've had with Covid-19. Nursing has its ups and downs, like any other job so don't hold back. I struggled with my previous career and decided to try a completely different career (hence why I'm in nursing school) at the age of 35. I am sure whatever you choose, you will be great at it! It's evident that you actually really care about HELPING people. Good luck!
Thanks for speaking the truth about nursing, people need to hear it! It's not a super fun job, and it's not glorious like the media and people who have never done it think, as a matter of fact I talk as many people out of nursing as I can. I have been in EMS for 23 years and nursing for 14, I took a full time nursing job about 7 months ago, and I am already ready to go back to EMS. I have an interview for a pediatric in patient job in a week, and am hoping to get that, as I feel that would literally be the only job that would keep me in nursing for the long term. I hope that you find your happy place as an NP and you can do it long term, especially after investing all the time and money it takes. Bottom line, for those who are thinking about becoming a nurse, I HIGHLY recommend you shadow a nurse for at least two half shifts so that you can get some feel for what the stress is like. I know it may not be possible until things get a bit better as far as the pandemic situation. I do wish NP schools and nursing schools would move towards medical education and, as you said, get rid of the BS theory crap.
Slightly jealous of your social media job opportunity as that’s what I desire to do (and have a degree in) but I lack experience 😅 but I’m so happy you found out you love it! 🙌🏼 my mom and I are both in the middle of a job transition- she really wants to continue nursing education (more in the college setting) and I’m unsure if I want to transfer with my same job or try something different. Probably still in healthcare as I don’t mind it too much. Moving states makes the decision twice as stressful 😖 Really enjoying the chats! ☺️
Yes! Civil discourse is SO important! It's ok not to agree and we can all still be friends. 😊 We all bring important perspectives to the table. I do totally agree that it's ok to go down a path and end up somewhere different than you imagined. Maybe you would have never gone to NP school if you didn't think you were going to be in Primary Care, but being an NP is vital for what you're ultimately called to do! Totally ok!
Yeah, my job just asked me to work nights and I told him nights are not healthy for me so I'd rather take the time off. It's not worth the stress. So I feel you on that
I appreciate your honesty about nursing! I think that you are right in that the media should be more transparent about the profession. I disagree with only consuming social media that makes us feel good though; it is used to disseminate vast amounts of information about the world, beyond just being used for simple social interaction's anymore. As a result, we should not censor all information initially perceived as "uncomfortable" from ourselves. I think that balance is key, and that exposing ourselves to alternative perspectives or situations can contribute to growth, understanding and empathy, and that includes feeling occasionally uncomfortable or feeling the occasional negative emotions. Humans weren't made to feel continuously happy or stable. It's perfectly reasonable though to minimize some of those interactions if they are continuously affecting mental health. At the same time though, I also wonder if this will contribute to decreased resilience when people have the option of switching something off anytime that they feel uncomfortable, rather than facing, accepting, challenging or understanding it. I am a firm believer of the notion that, "what challenges us changes us" and that has both positive and negative implications...depending on perspective. Haha, philisophical rant doneeeeee :P
I'm not sure how it works in the US, but have you considered public health nursing? It sounds like it checks off many items on your list (education, providing resources to individuals that are disenfranchised) in Canada at least. Public health is also such a broad field so you'll find something that you'll enjoy.
Can you do a video on how/where to search for different np jobs traditional/ non-traditional jobs? I’m really struggling to figure out where do you find all these jobs that you mentioned in this video.
A. Having seen some new grads who come into nursing thinking it’s an Instagram post, the real talk is absolutely needed. B. All the reasons you mention about “not being right” for an academic position are also the reasons you could be really good in that environment. There are probably more students like you who would benefit from professors understanding their concerns. Not saying it would be easy…
I'm in a concepts based nursing programs right now and some of my professors have a phd in nursing, a dnp, a professor who has a MSN and a couple of professors who have a phd in education with a BS and MNS so im sure you could get a phd in education and teach!
You should reach out. I think it was Kaplan? Maybe another company, but I know they were sponsoring a bunch of teacher vloggers like 2 years ago who went back and got a Masters. I think you and your channel would have a lot to offer them. Could be worth a shot. You do a lot of this community! I’m only on my phone right now, but I know Pocket Full of Primary did videos on it so you could confirm the company.
I’m a psych PA. I see a lot of Medicaid patients. It’s so bad my patients can’t even get a PCP let along see any kind of specialist so we are stuck treating their non-psych issues. The system is the problem
You remind me of people who become lawyers and then go to work for Legal Aid (which helps the poor and disadvantaged) instead of a high-priced law firm. That's a good thing! Most don't understand that mindset, that helping others who have no other option is more important than making $$$$$$, but that's fine. They don't have to understand!
I am finishing NP school this semester. Considering post grad psychiatry. Any thoughts ? I have 10 years of mental health experience. I am burnout there also . Got burned out in med surg .
Liz, what about public health? Is there a place for NPs? Also, I sympathize with the people who feel "scared off," but I gotta say: if the honesty of these videos scare you off, it doesn't bode well for surviving actual nursing. Yet, don't let the internet scare you off of your life decisions. Anyway, great video. 😊
Maybe this is totally wrong but what about a public health nurse? I’m a social worker and have worked at small clinics and most of them have NPs and then for the social issues, refer out to the social worker 😊
Nursing spends too much time on theory! When I graduated my FNP program I immediately thought of the classes that could have been combined into one course so more time would have been spent on the clinical management of patients !!!
Keep on being you! Nurse Liz, do it, the political healthcare sphere is everything. I'm in nursing school and find myself wanting to get out there and secure universal, free healthcare for everyone.
I agree with your assessment of kind of finding yourself in a box with other people expecting you to do certain things especially the nursing profession but I think it’s great you’re looking outside the box and getting some new experiences. I just recently got into quality improvement and looking at Dana and I know that sounds boring but it is so interesting and so cool I love it and never thought I would love it so I agree with you!
I lost my health insurance because of ACA. The government told me there would be better options with the marketplace. Wrong! So, here I am with various chronic health issues and no insurance! And no one gives a crap because I'm just one person. I think someone in healthcare who has seen patients fall through the cracks because of others' not-so-well-thought-out-dumb ideas would be great to advocate for the rest of us! For all of us! And, yes, education needs redone!
Free and medicaid is hard too. Because even if we are paying for access to everything they still won't take care of theirselves!!! Then, you are struggling to get paid too because medicaid doesn't pay well at all. Sad but true!

I love rambling Liz who actually says the real things that many people are too scared to say. You’re the only nursing channel I watch for a reason (also for the house updates and kiddos) I’m here for the heated and REAL conversations of healthcare. If you want to work in healthcare and be blissfully ignorant about the burn out and issues with the system, we don’t claim you
Rambles are good. Honesty is good…and, sweeping anything under the rug, is never good.
Oh! Also, finding your voice, unashamedly, is really good!
Love this girl so much for her honesty and blunt opinions🥰
@@Pizzapasta123 that's good to know! thank you for sharing!
Loving the audio-journal format. Please keep it up!
People can’t handle the truth. Too many aspects of life has a filter
@@sarahtoler5878 are you thinking of becoming a nurse?
I love it. Your honesty is refreshing and I'm a happy to see someone that is confused as myself when it comes to nursing. Keep the contents coming! 👌🏽
I'm loving these talks. Opens my eyes to a lot!
Yes, I like random rambles because people speak from the heart during random discussions
I appreciate your honesty Liz!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! I am already struggeling with what to do after finishing my degree and feel kind of a pressure to get into a specialty I am trained for. So your words really give me a heads up to do what I like rather than what I feel I should. Greetings from Germany XX
Thank you for being real and honest with us!
Thanks for this post. We need to hear different perspectives. So thanks for your authenticity.
I admire your principled approach and very noble rationale!
Its ok Liz im a new grad RN dont feel yoy have to cater to everyone. I understand and still listening to you regardless bc its good to hear it all
I’ve been a stay at home mom for years.
Thanks!
somehow just seeing this but thank you for the super sticker!!
I am absolutely 💯 agree on everything Liz is talking about. Why NP students have to take so many unnecessary classes for our future role as a provider? Theory class is definitely a HUGE waste! So glad someone else shares my philosophy of Nursing profession! Thanks, Liz!
I like them! Refreshingly honest!
Just survived my second week off orientation at cardiac surgery imc floor! Bout to have 4 off and I’m so happy for a break
I like this style of video! More than VLOGs.
Hell yes, Liz. You’re awesome
Yep. Burn out is very high in the medical field in general. I'm a medical assistant and phlebotomist.
many people end up working in something that is not directly related to their educational background and THAT'S OK we change and sometimes we have an idea in our head of what we would like to do, but when we experience it we realize it isn't what we had in mind.
Moving states makes the decision twice as stressful 😖
Really enjoying the chats! ☺️
Having just made the move between states, I feel you on that one 😫
Totally ok!
Loved the video!!! ❤️
I love this, thank you for sharing! I feel the exact same way!
Love the “rambly ramble”!!!
Thank you for being honest
I so agree let's get rid of theory or combine it with another course
Keep up the great videos, Liz :)
Hi Nurse Liz, I like your content. I love watching your videos.
I'm an OR nurse because I love surgeries.
Love your videos. Stay healthy!I 💝⚕
You should reach out.
Are you talking about Capella University?
@@juliamoyer9 oh, that sounds correct!
I’m a psych PA. I see a lot of Medicaid patients. It’s so bad my patients can’t even get a PCP let along see any kind of specialist so we are stuck treating their non-psych issues. The system is the problem
Thank you from someone who is on Medicaid
I would like to hear your thoughts on nursing school education 👀👀👀
You remind me of people who become lawyers and then go to work for Legal Aid (which helps the poor and disadvantaged) instead of a high-priced law firm. That's a good thing! Most don't understand that mindset, that helping others who have no other option is more important than making $$$$$$, but that's fine. They don't have to understand!
I am finishing NP school this semester. Considering post grad psychiatry. Any thoughts ? I have 10 years of mental health experience. I am burnout there also . Got burned out in med surg .
I love the GI specialty more specifically Hepatology.
Hello friend🙂 I look forward to your videos. Ty Liz.
Holistic/complementary/functional nutrition focus?
I agree with your assessment of kind of finding yourself in a box with other people expecting you to do certain things especially the nursing profession but I think it’s great you’re looking outside the box and getting some new experiences. I just recently got into quality improvement and looking at Dana and I know that sounds boring but it is so interesting and so cool I love it and never thought I would love it so I agree with you!
Have U ever took a vacay by yourself? I would suggest it!!!♥️
I can't say I have. Having two small littles complicates that lol
Would you ever give up the NP certification and just use MSN?
I lost my health insurance because of ACA. The government told me there would be better options with the marketplace. Wrong! So, here I am with various chronic health issues and no insurance! And no one gives a crap because I'm just one person. I think someone in healthcare who has seen patients fall through the cracks because of others' not-so-well-thought-out-dumb ideas would be great to advocate for the rest of us! For all of us! And, yes, education needs redone!
Community health nursing may be what you’re looking for!
Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)? Currently going for BSN
Whatever you're passionate about, but CRNA makes twice as much and it's much easier to find jobs than as a NP.
Have you considered an outpatient clinic job at a VA hospital?
Free and medicaid is hard too. Because even if we are paying for access to everything they still won't take care of theirselves!!! Then, you are struggling to get paid too because medicaid doesn't pay well at all. Sad but true!
