I wouldn't say "must haves" get a pulley reduction, shorty header, exhaust, intercooler (meh), and a intake. You'll be golden. And you'd probably be beating your douchey wrx buddy.
If you get a reduction pulley don't forget to put a tune on it. Also colder spark plugs are a must. Intake air temperature is going to increase. I always advise getting an upgraded intercooler when reducing the pulley on a supercharger. I have a 2006 r50 with a 2006 r52 convertible engine and motor swap. Megan racing everything man I love that car. The good thing about snatching a convertible for a parts car is you get all the extra reinforcement that you can add to your r53 or r50.
@@daysend1341 I had a 17% on my JCW and never tuned it. About 40k miles later my buddy owns it with no issues. Back the I wasn’t huge into understanding cars so I never found a tune or knew of an OTS option for them. Maybe there is one now. Also, the stock intercooler is the best option for the car even with a pulley reduction. Only thing that has tested better was the GP intercooler. So I don’t think it’s a huge deal. These cars take mods really well.

When you wax your car (assuming you may) wax your tail/headlight lenses too to help protect them as well.
You could wet sand/polish de taillights for the same result, much cheaper too!
