- Mutton Chops Masala -My grandmother style :
Before more than 100 years my grandma use to cook this simple, but at the same time mouth watering delicious dish. I guarantee you will lick your fingers.
Ingredients:
Mutton chops. 1 kg
Onions. 500 gms
Oil. 70 gms
Salt to taste
Garam masala powder. 2 Tspoon
Red chilli powder. 2 Tspoon
For ginger garlic green chilli paste:
Ginger. 25 gms
Garlic. 25 gms
Green chillies. 25 gms
(If you eat less spicy cut down quantity of green chillies)
For ginger garlic paste:
Ginger. 25 gms
Garlic. 25 gms
Method:
1. Wash and clean chops
2. In a kadai (wok) heat oil.
3. When oil is hot, add chopped onion.
4. Add salt to taste
5. Sauté till golden brown. It may take 8-10 minutes
6. Add ginger garlic green chilli paste
7. Add ginger garlic paste
8. Add 2 Tspoon red chilli powder
9. Mix and sauté for 3-4 minutes
10. Add mutton chops
11. Mix and sauté for 10 minutes. If needed add splash of water.
12. Add 1 cup water or as per consistency you like.
13. Cook for 5 minutes on high flame.
14. Cover the lid and pour water on lid.
15. Put weight on lid.
16. Cook for 1 hour on low flame.
17. Open the lid after 1 hour.
18. Check the mutton. Most probably it is tender. If not, cook for some more time.
19. Add 2 Tspoon Garam masala powder.
20. Mix and simmer for 5 minutes on low flame.
21. Grandma style Mutton Chops Masala is ready
22. to be served.
23. Savour the taste with Jovar rotli or steam rice.
