One quick correction on rune of shattering(2:48). You can use rune of removal as long as you have forging potential, but you don't need crafting potential to shatter. So it is almost always better to start with removal if you really need the shards. Keep in mind that runes of removal are a lot easier to run out of compared to runes of shattering.
Good stuff. Like you say, I'd always thought of the rune of Removal as a way to free up a slot, not to reclaim shards. When starting a fresh toon during 1.0, this will be very useful during early game.
I use removal rune of key affixes - crit chance, Hybrid Health (hp+hp%),skill lvl+1 and some special for my class like "Increased Spell Crit (Doubled If You Have Over 300 Max Mana)".
I wonder if it was because a new rune of shattering was put into the box, but im not sure. Otherwise maybe it needed 2 runes to get all of the shards out 🤔
Just in case you were wondering the difference and how to get as many shards as possible! especially good for solo or new cycle chars!

why do u always have empty idol slots?
