@andrewmills9353 that's why we rip so deep here. Our tile lines are 6' to 6 1/2' deep. That way our clay soil will drain the salt from the ground. I remember a 1/2 mile long field would take 20-30 minutes to get to the end pulling a three shank ripper 5 1/2 feet in second gear in a Cat D8K. Those were loooong days!!
I presume this was filmed in North America? That would be interesting, because the Howard paraplow was manufactured in the UK. in the early ‘80s. Apperently Some were exported.
Yes, Southeast Michigan. It’s the only paraplow I have seen in person. The newer Tye Paratill uses very similar shanks ( some of the wear parts interchange) and is more common in the US.
It was a good match in this field. Exactly one mile east of this field I have 25 acres of solid clay… worked the tractor much harder in that field. I eventually had to take the 4th shank off to finish the field, one got damaged, the ground was so hard this year.
Nice one Thanks again

That is just pretty cool. Never seen a ripper quit like that. Don't see a lot of 6588's either.
Interesting shanks were in line like moldboard plow
Yes., back in the early 80s I seen a few put chisel plowing shank on mold board plows ,reduced tilling
Get in there nice and deep like
Cool tractor. Deep ripping???? What18 inches??? We here in the Imperial Valley, deep rip 5 and one half feet with Cat D8s.
Oh my. 5 1/2 feet would rip up all the tile and rocks here.

Neat ripper. 6588 isn't paying very much attention to it.
