In this poem 'Small Scale Reflections on a Great House' A.K Rmanujan remembers the peculiarity of the family old house. In the house the things came into once never go out. The things come in every day but they lose themselves among other things. There are other category of things. They go out but manage to return to the Great house. Ideas which are casually mentioned by the members of the family are turned into rumours and magnified. Nothing remains outside long. In this poem serious, comic and ironic elements are mixed together.
