The Shadow, Zorro, Lone Ranger & a good few others before his time would like a few words about that. Not to mention a vast variety of DC superheroes came out long before The Phantom.
God, I miss this franchise. Both the original comic series & the 2040 show were phenomenal. It had good wholesome values jam packed with major buttkicking action & even an educational flare to it. The story telling, the art the originality this is what true peak fiction looks like.
God bless you for uploading good quality episodes of this series‼️its one of the few I missed in my youth & now I get a 2nd chance to 👁️👀👁️ it... May the Phantom protect you 💀💜💜💜
Back in the day, I think the thought was that the colors, the flash, the action, those were the things that would keep the kids entertained, but also, older kids and onward could appreciate the deeper story, as well. Nowadays, it’s more about just shoving the stimulation at kids, without bothering to try and give them something deeper to appreciate.
Thank you so much for uploading this fantastic series! I was always a big fan of the Phantom and when this cartoon came out I tried to catch every episode but the airing schedule was too inconsistent to do so. Now that I’ve found your channel I plan on catching up on what I missed back then. So again I say thank you very much and take care!👍🏻😎
Phantom 2040 seems to be inspired by Batman. With his Phantom-computer in the Phantom-cave, along with the Phantom-jet and his Phantom-mobile (which come later), he is about as well equipped as Bruce Wayne. Goran plays the part of Alfred; Sparks becomes his Robin. In the way of the Batman TV show, there's even a devoted aunt to chaperone everybody.
Actually, it's more likely the other way around. Bill Finger wrote the first Batman in 1939. Lee Falk published the first Phantom in 1936. When Goran talks about the long history of the Phantom, he's not just talking in story.
@@andrewanderson6849 Thanks for your reply! Considering the other ways that we know Bob Kane "borrowed" from others, I shouldn't be surprised if he did the same with Lee Falk's work.
@@misterlyle. Lee Falk invented the blank white eyes (which I always understood were inspired by the then current conception of classical Greek and Roman statues as pure white, with blank eyes. Also, he seems to have invented the stretch bodysuit superhero suit. Bob Kane and lots of other people stole/copied/were inspired by that work. Of course, all of them could have been separately inspired by circus acrobats, tumblers, and athletic singlets. As for the concept of rich guy with secret identity fighting for the right, everybody stole that from The Scarlet Pimpernel and Robin Hood -- including the guy who invented Zorro. There's not that much new under the sun.
There's 3 things about this cartoon, 1 kit looks like a very young Michael bay, 2 most of these robots are as tacky as hell & 3, the animation looks almost like aeon flux from mtv
In the 90's cartoons became "woke". In the 80's cartoons had moral/ethical lessons at the end of each cartoon. Silver Hawks had a astronomical lesson. the 90's became more political and more "earth centered". It is a shame that happened. I miss the 80's ethical/moral lessons.
