Yume Nikki fan here. The main appeal of Yume Nikki, for me anyway, is that there really is no main story nor objective, only the exploration of Madotsuki's dreams and collecting the 'effects' Madotsuki can use to change appearance or even use for events. Interpretation of the message of Yume Nikki is also an appeal of it.
A big theme of the game seems to be isolation For example Madotsuki refuses to leave her room To me the dreams are and escape for Madotsuki I dont entirely know what events exactly led to her being like that but throughout the game you can find multiple instances of sexual imagery Particularly what appear to be depictions of feminine genitalia so make of that what you will
I love how the Yume Nikki song isn't just a reference to the game, but also a reference to the popular animations that have pretty much kept the game alive. I don't remember who made them though...
Now ik why the intro to the main song sounded like an analog horror. We really need more movies for creepypastas, and they need to be GOOD! (Looking at you, Slenderman.)

I was honestly shocked when I didn’t see Duck Season in Mario’s Madness, especially when Duck Hunt and Mario go hand in hand due to the duel cartridge for the NES, so seeing so many of these obscure but memorable Horror Games in this Mod, along with the Chainmail Chasers Analog Horror Series was phenomenal. For the longest time, Lullaby has been in my Top 3 because of my love for Poképasta’s, but Step Right Up has finally dethroned it. This Mod and many others are just awesome, and surprisingly it’s nice to have a Mod where the song doesn’t cut to a Lyrics section midway through. Edit: I understand Duck Hunt was in Unbeatable, I’m referring to Duck Season in particular not getting any representation, with that said, I love that I’ve started a trend of people telling me I’m stupid and the Duck Hunt is represented in Unbeatable, as well as a war (that I have participated in) about the use of lyrics in FNF songs and if it’s already grown stale.
@@scanchannel3259 For me personally it feels like it, with some exceptions being Hit Single, Funkadelix, and a few ones such as Sides Mods and 6 Shots from before it became the new trend. With that said, this is just my personal opinion. Hopefully some mod comes out that just gives me the same dopamine rush Silly Billy did but other than Returnal/Green Mountain nothing has done it yet.

This mod is definitely my new favorite FNF mod, it’s even managed to somewhat get me interested in the stuff the songs are based on. The best songs, in my opinion, are definitely Mortis, Deep Dream, and Mind’s Eye Squared We’re really in the era of near-constant peak FNF mods it seems
a cool detail that i haven't seen anyone talk about (because it was probably in the patch released a few hours ago) is that when you start the minds eye squared song, you get a notification that you got an email from sarah with the smile dog image attached. when i clicked on it, it just went away, so i think it was a fake notification.
little fun fact: when the credits roll the first time if you didnt full screen your game, in the bottom right of your screen a message pops up saying: Sarah Taylor Sent you a Mail (sarah taylor being the protagonist of the Chainmail Chasers horror series which is based off the original smile dog creepypasta) Edit: i may be a little dumb and wrote the comment poorly.

you should play the dead air mod and its a full scary base fnf song that everyone is scared about on some of the songs bcs the images [oh and btw michael got shot by the shotgun and michael cant really die with the cross he can only get scared]
idk if anyone else said it but you missed one song in the yume nikki level, if you go to the tv and turn the console on you will get a short song before the main one. you can also turn the tv on in one of the dimensions (maybe both i dont know)
I may be 13 days late as of writing this, but that doesn't really matter. After playing this mod, it has officially became my favorite FNF horror mod. The amazing attention to details and mechanics of each song made me so damn excited throughout my ENTIRE playthrough. I dunno if anyone else noticed the fact that most icons are actually ANIMATED and have transitions between neutral to losing, and losing to neutral but I love that detail. (I forgot there weren't any winning icons LOL) TL;DR: This mod is dope and has dope details. But ye, very good video as always Connor :D
If you press delete you get a bad ending that has a song that’s better than the others that the good ending (pressing send gives you it) doesn’t give at the very end, I LOVE IT SO MUCH it sounds awesome also nothing bad happens to your pc
I saw a lot of people commenting that the song Mind's Eye² was based on Chainmail Chasers but it's ALSO a remake of a song from a WHILE ago by blackberri called Mind's Eye, also based on chainmail chasers. I HIGHLY recommend you take a listen to the original Mind's Eye, it's a bit different from the version in this mod but it is absolutely fire (Also it's under their old channel named "Samiiwave" just so you know)
Connor you should try Dead Air! It's an amazing and unique mod that, similarly to SRU, has horror media as songs and they're incredibly original about it; I think you'd have a blast.
By the way at the one with the cross on the side when the bar got too low it turns white and so does the cross in the hands that we play as but when it goes back up it turns back yellow on the side and in our hands I think you missed it 27:49

Also there are actually 3 different Smile Dogs in the mod. In Widespread there's Husky in part one, and Demon in part 2. While in Mind's Eye Squared there's Dragon. According to lore they're pretty much the same other than their appearance and the way the kill you if you don't spread their media. Husky freezes you to death, Demon burns you, and Dragon drives you to end yourself. I also recommend you play Mind's Eye Squared again on your own after the patch, it's MUCH cooler now.

All we know for absolute certain is that its all lucid dreams happening inside Madotsuki's (the girl) head as she sleeps. Everything else is up for interpretation.
I wonder if Gobou got a chance to contribute to the Yume Nikki section? Gobou is a pixel animator that usually posts once a year, but then they do it's always a bop. (Often time with a creature named Masada busting it the fuck down new age Jackson style.)
The final song is based on the Chainmail chasers which is a horror arg based on smile dog the reimagines ot in a pretty interesting way. Its way more unique and the editing is phenomenal, some of it, i even question how they pulled it off
Everyone says it's the best fnf mod but has everyone already forgotten Mario's madness, yes the visuals are amazing and the songs are pretty good (I love mind'eye squared) but Mario's madness is a continuation of the story and has literally the best ost of all fnf (and is going to have a 2.5 and a V3)

Sara Taylor is not the protagonist of ChainmailChasers, she's original to the mod. ChainmailChasers' protagonist is Grace Ackermann.

This is a really cool horror mod for FNF. It's surprising and both nostalgic a little bit about seeing these games after years.
You should check the freeplay animations and maybe the info on the "Victims and monsters"

The final song is based on the Chainmail chasers which is a horror arg based on smile dog the reimagines ot in a pretty interesting way. Its way more unique and the editing is phenomenal, some of it, i even question how they pulled it off

Everyone says it's the best fnf mod but has everyone already forgotten Mario's madness, yes the visuals are amazing and the songs are pretty good (I love mind'eye squared) but Mario's madness is a continuation of the story and has literally the best ost of all fnf (and is going to have a 2.5 and a V3)
