    At 9:23 I say 1997 - But mean to say 1977 - Sorry for that mistake.

    Excellent video! Must say I love the intro music and the hype you create around vintage Star Wars items. It makes the collecting and appreciation for it so cool! And you make it about the items being iconic,nostalgic and one of a kind and not about the investment. And you cut out the waffle and get to the point…keep em coming!

    Another informative video, thank Joey- another distributor for your list is Toltoys which distributed the Kenner line in Australia and New Zealand.

      GREAT Addition! I should have included that, but THANK you for dropping the knowledge on me! I had no idea that was also a distributer of the SW line! Thanks Kiwi!

      I am Australian and currently binging your buying run series and came here to say the same as Kiwi Droid re Toltoys even though I know his comment is a year old it is timely now with the recent AFA50 Toltoy carded vinyl cape Jawa going for an astounding US$49,000 at auction in the USA last month.
      Vinyl cape Jawas were very common in Australia when I was a kid and I was miffed when I was given a cloth one one birthday as it didn't match any of the others in my collection. Sadly none of them survived to my collection today.
      Also just an aside, as an Australian I don't recall ever seeing a Toltoy branded card here. All my surviving cardbacks purchased from toy shelves in Australia from 1978-1985 are straight Kenner.

    Insightful video. Thanks! I have the Early Bird set from Christmas 1977. My figures came late January 1978. They came with the little white pegs that would hold the figures onto the carboard display. I never thought about collecting so I tore the figures out of their card and played with them. If I buy figures I buy them loose.

      If you look at some of the country of origin stamps, they are on a raised bit of plastic (the bar). This isn’t the case with all figures though .

      Back in the day factories in Europe (& I’m not sure where else) used imported parts from Hong Kong that they would paint and assemble…hence all the variants. The “raised bar” was used to cover up the Made In Hong Kong C.O.O..

    Hi Joey, here’s one I hope no one else brought to ur attention. I have a moc of the Gamorean guard & it’s called a “mim”. Meaning, made in Mexico. Lily Ledy made figures for the American market & that’s how that happened. They do say Kenner on the front but it says on the back “made in Mexico”. Please double check urs & show it on a future episode if it happens to be a mim.

    • @thepadawancollectorofficial
      @thepadawancollectorofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a lily Ledy loose gammy but my Kenner MOC is a made in Hong Kong. But that’s a good tip to check out!

    Another term that is used on ebay is Vintage "Complete", this is usually a warning that the figure is considered complete because it comes with repro cape and/or weapon(s)

    Well Joey check that spelling on your Palitoy - 'Brittish' just the one 't'' on that matey...all these anachronisms gave me a headache too when I got back into collecting again, even some groups have 'group' anachronisms which make it twice as hard! Love your Lando, so much temptation just to rip him straight off and play with him 😂
    Another awesome episode and I'll be checking out Hitchville l8tr on 👍👌

    • @thepadawancollectorofficial
      @thepadawancollectorofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha yes all of these items I get in sealed cards I do always have that temptation to rip them open and play with them. But the preservationist in me wants to keep them MOC for other generations to see what these looked like as you saw them on the shelf. That’s why I have a loose collection as well :). These are meant to be held and played with also. And thanks for the notes on the spelling :). I appreciate that!

    MOSC -Mint on Sealed Cardback
    one thing to be aware of is regional differences. Both in NY and in the Seattle area, the clubs refer to a MOC (Mint on Card) as a cardback that is mint and the figure is mint and as new but the bubble is allowed to be open. -where a MOSC is a mint cardback and figure where the bubble is also mint and this has never ever been opened. Mint on Sealed Cardback.
    What I am wondering is if this designation of MOSC is just regional to the PNW and the NE states or if it’s a term that is on its way out of fashion?? What do you think? No longer necessary or is it a regional thing?
    Thanx for another great video, Joey.

    • @thepadawancollectorofficial
      @thepadawancollectorofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks John! I’ve seen that term on one of the Facebook groups, but only a very few times. I have to search and see what region that person was from. That’s got me wondering now! Thank you for watching brother and I hope you and your fam had a great holiday

      @@thepadawancollectorofficial lol I think its a parody from an episode of Dexters Lab. they're at a barbie convention and they open a mib toy. everyone on the convention floor is shocked in horror while chanting "nrfb" repeatedly as they are then forced into a Klingon style death battle.
