That has aged very well indeed, lovely boat. It’s interesting to see the evolution of boats in even a decade. Most boats have a high/low platform now negating the need for a crane, and the bows now have more seating and are used for more than just sunbathing.
The interior still looks immaculate though, the owner has taken very good care of it. Kudos to them and to you Nick for another great tour

I always find it interesting comparing earlier models with modern boats. The one area that always stands out for me, especially on boats around the 60-80ft mark pre 2006, is the bow area. This actually has quite a modern bow seating area, but most yachts from around the early 00s just have a small sun pad on the front. Perhaps it’s a result of modern technology or a chance in customer tastes, but I think it’s great to see the unique and far more practical bow areas on modern boats, such as the Sunseeker 76 or the new Sunseeker 87. Great video as always!

We should all play a game? How many years operating costs = the total yacht price now? I think surprisingly that is the biggest consideration in this type of purchase, that and how much can Chartering bring in. The yacht is unbelievable condition, super well cared for and the price is nothing in comparison with what the latest equivalent would be. This yacht looks to have been professionally managed.

@@Bedrock1966 According to several other 'Captains and Yacht dealers - as a VERY broad brush annual cost (covering crew costs, running costs and maintenance), you should be looking at 10% of the purchase price of the NEW yacht price! A Captain, Engineer and Chief Stewardess will cost an average of £300,000 per year alone.

    • @dickkingswell5249
      @dickkingswell5249 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Bedrock1966 Now that depends on what you consider as servicing and as maintenance? If you mean just changing fluids in the engines (main engines, generators, RIB, water toys???) then probably no more than a few thousand per year - BUT do you consider 'filters' as maintenance or servicing. Water maker filters, engine fuel cleaner filters, oil filters, air con filters engine air filters etc, etc, etc. Will you be using the boat for charter, in which case there will be, (I imagine) much stricter regimes of fire extinguisher servicing, smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm servicing, life jacket servicing, life raft servicing etc., etc., etc. In my simple opinion it is difficult to separate what is maintenance and what is servicing - but again I fall back on my experience with some well known dealers and Captains - in very general terms - in a 100ft private yacht used as a charter yacht, with eight to ten guests and six to eight crew (such as 'AWOL') you would expect to pay perhaps a minimum of £1million per year, of which one third would be crew costs, one third would be maintenance and service costs and one third would be running costs, (fuel, food and mooring fees etc). The you have to consider the ten year service requirement, chart servicing, amendment and updating, Satellite costs (Internet and telephone will cost many thousands per year) but are absolutely essential requirements. I am an absolute amateur on this subject but again, in my opinion, unless you have very deep pockets, you will need to consider recouping money by means of chartering - and that means additional insurance costs and perhaps better qualified crew members - BUT there are a lot of super yachts out there so there must be a demand. I just wish I could partake!

Another nice yacht at a "reasonable" price. I don't get the huge AV screen though.

Lovely boat a bit dark inside but I could get used to it, what is interesting is the cost to charter these things against there value ? So this is about 2 million pounds ? You can rent a 2 million pound apartment in London for about 3k a month and that's on the top end I know these thinks need crew and maintaing but they sound like a good investment if you are going to charter it out for say 3 to 6 months of the year ? Is that what drives the Industry or are they all one month a year private boats. Would be interesting to hear your views, maybe a video on the Industry to give us more insight. A friend's father sold his business about 20 years ago and bought an 800k used Cranchi as an on going charter business it's gone now but seemed to work for him.

It varies a lot. Many owners keep them totally private, some charter a little when not on board to keep the boat and crew busy and offset the costs a little and a few are commercial charter operations.

Looked good up until the Bosch appliances, I entirely expect every boat to have Miele gear

If you can't afford a 'walk-in-wardrobe' try this money saving tip:
Don't open the door, just walk into your wardrobe !
Now it might hurt at first but you soon get used to it.

Stopped to write this quite early in video because was struck by the claustrophobic feel of the cabin areas due to small portholes and dark wood effect. Do not like the hemmed in feel.

I wish my boat was as claustrophobic as a 95ft superyacht! 🙂

Being a single Man with no kids I just may retire and live on a yacht and leave land behind 15 yrs to go

While this yacht is still beautiful, do yachts depreciate like automobiles?
    It seems like anything over
25-30 years old is scrap material.
Not a very good investment. Certainly not like real estate.
