      A lot of people don't see freedom that way. In perspective of the villagers it means a less properous future because of one's selfishness.
      Even today, I see families guilt tripping each other into obligation and making someone else responsibile for their happiness. Freedom is seen as death to dependents.
      I don't blame Maria in context as the village community was awful. The village will have to adapt or starve when grandcoat is gone.

      Yes, some people make choices at the expense of others livelihoods.
      All comes down to context and people's values.
      Dependants naturally value security and structure over freedom.
      Those who have aspirations, seek improvement, cope with the realities of nature value freedom over security.

      @@whiteRiceSupremacistexactly. For example, the color red is present in EVERY story, and its symbolism is clear. What changes is how it's displayed through the characters, how the insanity is rooted in them.
      I think Gretel did exist at some point, but due to an old japanese superstition of twins bringing bad luck, the parents, in the anime, must have killed her, leading Hansel to create his own Gretel. But then he travelled to another world (which I'm starting to think might be ground 0 for a future adaptation of Peter Pan), and unable to let her go, especially because he was the only child there, he created a split personality, leading him to become that woman in Pied Piper. The question now is how he got the cloak, which must be the explanation as to how he acquired that form in "Pied Piper".

    • @Radio-97
      @Radio-97 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

      No they aren‘t.
      Pied Piper isn’t connected to Hansel and Gretel and vice-versa.
      The the theory is far to convoluted and stretchy to make this even work.
      It’s just an anthology series made of six independent fairy tales but with a darker twist to them. That’s that simply
      And CLAMPs previous works don’t really interconnect aside non canon promo appearances and deliberate nods to the original work.
      And the color red is just an intense signal color that is used for various effects;
      Mostly for blood, but also if you are under an influence of something. But just because two works use the same visual cue, doesn’t mean they have to be connected.
      Again, the theory has no basis and is too overly complex to make it work. They are separate just characters with their stories having a different focus.
      Besides;
      There were visual cues that make it pretty clear that Gretel never was real and that Hansel is projecting in certain scenes as if he wasn’t actually alone. None of the children address Gretel nor do the ‚parents‘ or anyone actually do that.
      Besides… the settings on both fairytales are very different and thus impossible to have any interconnection.

    Speaking of "KH", there are two fics of it that may interest those in this fandom who know that saga:
    "The Twilight Will" - a Roxas centered fic in which he refused to merge back with Sora. Gathering all of his power, he escapes, travelling to realms beyond "KH" that were unnafected by the war, as such, maintaining light, darkness and nothingness together. Worlds include "American Mcgee's Alice", "God of War" and "Bioshock";
    "Sea-Change of Fate" - this one is a fic series. Kairi deviates from the script predicted for her, choosing to accompany Sora, Donald ("Ducktales" reboot version) and Goofy on their journey after "KH 1". Now, the author uses mostly the manga elements (making fights more violent), along with exploring the sexuality of the cast more, it's true. But they integrate it well in the story. Plus, it's refreshing to see Kairi, Sora and Riku behave like actual teens whose hormones and emotions are all over the place. And seeing Maleficent, though a bit unwillingly, bond with the likes of Riku, Vanitas and Naminé is very cute. The cast may feel kinda dirtier, but also more sincere than in canon.
    So yeah. I suggest these stories here, because like the "Grimm Variations", both explore a dirtier side of whatever it is Nomura may executed more poorly in canon. I highly recommend them.

      That‘s way too farfetched to make this even believable.
      The more likely answer is that the Pied Piper and Hansel aren’t connected and thus separate characters.
      There were hints that Gretel was never real like the lack of eye shines and that the stories‘ settings and themes were vastly different;
      Hansel and Gretel has a Sci-Fi setting while The Pied Piper of Hamelin takes place in a closed-off village

      @@JabamiLain Maria became sorta ‚Pied Piper 2.0‘ after soon she arrived in the modern world where she tells the tale to others like to the little girl in the end
      And did you noticed in Hansel and Gretel that no one actually addresses Gretel personally, but to Hansel?
      • Hansel always follows up to Gretel‘s lines, which is then given a reply, but none to Gretel‘s
      • Gretel doesn’t get reprimanded while sleeping in class
      • Gretel doesn’t eat in any scene when the children are on the table
      • No one directly replies to Gretel‘s lines, but react to all what Hansel says; the ‚Witch‘ doesn’t, the ‚Parents‘ don’t and neither any of the children, like in the scene where the Witch hands out hot cocoa, she only brings one and doesn’t react to the answer Gretel gave, but to Hansel.
      • The ‚Mom‘ only scanned Hansel‘s heat, but none of Gretel and the parents only react to what Hansel does
      • Gretel never displays eye shines even in scenes when Hansel has
      • We never see Gretel‘s bed when it is supposed to be pretty much more front when she cones from that direction. But since she doesn’t actually exist, she doesn’t have one
      • Gretel is never shown in any photograph
      Besides… given how it is presented, Hansel is an unreliable narrator when it comes to accurately recalling the actual past, like Gretel actually never wore a jacket, nor was she eating the cake, nor did she took Hansels hands. That was all Hansel projecting his missing courage into an imaginary sister, basically a tulpa.
      These hints are minuscule at first, that many wouldn’t notice them right away. I myself double-checked to analyze and deconfirm said theory to be proven realistically

    • @JabamiLain

      A few questions:
      -What are the rest of this season's stories ?
      -Do you think Charllote Grimm is just into dark stories, or do you think she might be a bad seed ?

      And the ‚Ground Zero Peter Pan‘… I‘m sorry but I don’t see how that is suppose to work
      Peter Pan is a story that is about that everyone has to grow up and that nothing is stagnant and stays forever the way they are.
      Hansel already has gone through that arc by saying goodbye to Gretel, acknowledging her existence as part of his own imagination.
      And how does Hansel change his entire physique to become a +17 year old girl with a different colored hair and entirely different motivations and even a drastic change in character and personality?
      That’s too much of a stretch and doesn’t fit into the design if the anime as it is an anthology series about fairytales collected by the Grimm brothers with now a darker twist, each tale is one dedicated separate episode
