This video is so cool! Deserves way more views. I started playing roblox in 2014 as a guest and (being a dumb child still) I thought you needed to be an adult to make an account lol. Only in 2016 I finally made my first account. Maybe one of my fondest memories is after I made my account playing speed run four with the kids at summer camp and no matter how hard I try I couldn’t make it past the 4th level! Good times :>
roblox is so lifeless and corporate now. it hurts. i've been playing since 2012, and seeing roblox change so much and remove so many interesting and unique features frustrates me.. i blame the shitty members that ruined the site for everyone else but also the company for caring more about investors than their players.
I blame the unsupervised kids on their mom's iphones and tablets actively playing the trashy games and incentivizing/rewarding this behavior from the company.
I was a guest before, and it was when I was playing a game called something like "Barry's Pizzeria Roleplay" (A fnaf game). The game has a well-known system in Roleplay games, where you can enter text into a chatbox to give yourself a name, and I used this to communicate with a player to ask how to make an actual account. I now have my own account and have had many over the years thanks to that guy.

Fun fact: There's a potential for there to be tens or even hundreds of game sessions that haven't closed since 2017 due to "always in-game" accounts that have existed since 2011 to ensure that certain games never properly close and still utilize the old scripting system upon entry. It is very unclear which games have them, or even if there may still be a guest in them, but nothing is impossible.

The parts are all hot swappable while the machine is on and running, and you can even perform operating system updates without truly closing the game so long as the OS has an architecture that supports running the client. Since Roblox was 32-bit back then, even Windows 11 could run it now. For a brief explanation, these machines are essentially made to copy all necessary data to keep an application running always available onto another drive on command. It also essentially runs two operating systems at once, which is why you can update Windows on it. You can then effectively just move all the app data, even temporary data, from the storage device with the old operating system, to the one with the new operating system, without losing any data or having your connection go offline. It also has the option to enable and disable specific RAM slots at will, even on the live OS, though the one caveat to that is that you need the RAM amounts to be equal unless you also want to swap the game to another OS again.

I think they also removed the feature of removing your hats if you pressed backspace, back when I was a guest I would join prison life, and head to the police spawn and head to the edge where folks for some reason removed their hats and I would wear them
knowing all the stuff i missed by being a stubborn kid who would only play one online game (animal jam) and not accept anything else makes me a bit sad. i joined in 2018, so after most of this stuff got taken out. i wish i coulda experienced the older roblox features.
I had a similar experience except it was my mom that for some reason saw that Roblox was considered a unsecure website cause of that stupid green lock that would tell you if a website was secure or not. so she wouldn’t let make a account back in like late 2015 early 2016. so I had to stick to animal jam until I got a Tablet and the Roblox app, still even then I had to play as a guest until I bugged her enough to make one for me. I can’t believe I was such a stupid goody two shoes kid and I didn’t just make one in 2015 so cause of that I missed out on a good chunk of older Roblox and a lot of the 2010‘s internet cause I was so dead set on being a good little kid. Every time I look back at my childhood internet days it pains me so much that I lost all those possible experiences to quite literally nothing.

I joined in late 2013, experienced Roblox before it really got mainstream. The removal of these features really showcased the downside of extreme growth. I think the last straw for me was the discontinuation of Egg Hunts after 2020. I only recently came back to play the Classic event but discovered it had little to do with anything classic. It feels so corporate and "professional" now. That was definitely the case when i stopped playing regularly around 2020 but it's now worse.
@@hmrdev-billnye8166 ill admit i was also pretty disappointed with the classic event. i did play for a little while, just enough to unlock the second token item since i thought it'd look cool on my avatar. i dont know when all of the games they showcased came out, but i know certain ones like that dress to impress game came out very recently because id never heard of them before this year. why not showcase games that actually came out in the classic days, like, i dont know.. work at a pizza place or natural disaster survival or something. stuff that actually kinda brings back nostalgia for people, even if im not one of them. it'd have felt more genuine. of course, i dont know everything behind the scenes, i dont even know if the games i mentioned get updated anymore, i just know they're still fairly popular. my boyfriend joined in 2011 and honestly i get a bit envious at times because he tells me about all the fun stuff from back in the day and i know that i didnt get to have that same fun and never will. but oh well, that just comes with the passage of time, i suppose.

Hello, just to correct some stuff about the forum section, back before it shut down, the forums were super chaotic, especially the off topic subforum (which I was a very active user in for years before it got merged). Every once in a while, a bad actor would post illegal material similair to what you discussed, but that wasn't the catalyst the their removal. Essentially, back in 2017 a TH-camr named Quackity raided the forums multiple times and it all went downhill from there
I remember being a little sad over no builders club and saying "I'm going to hack some free builders club" in rough translation and memory of being disappointed and my brother saying "buideg pub" for fun as a kid who didn't have a bank account yet, and my parents feared online purchases so disappointment wasn't so rare and any copy of minecraft, garry's mod and roblox could have gave me dopamine rush that is way too unimaginable also at one point, I relied on xbox giftcards to give me robux, since that was the only way because there were no Roblox giftcards available locally
oof relatable especially the parents being afraid of online purchases part 😭 i only had $10 google play gift cards to work with but one time in 2015 i somehow glitched the robux purchase system and got double the amount. not sure how that happened and ive never done it again

I ended up getting 2k robux one day on mobile, and as a joke, pressed the buy button and bought 2k more robux unknowingly. I continued to spam the button thinking it was a free robux glitch, but it was just mobile roblox's UI being shit and not showing up the "Enter credit card info" UI or whatever, causing me to max out my moms credit card.
Ngl, this video is actually really good, plus I remember the Builder’s Club stuff and guests before they got removed. One thing I would put as an honorable mention was the audio change that basically made audio over 5 second audio useless.

The one feature that I think was exploited well was being able to open the Roblox client on 2 separate accounts and you could play with yourself. Nerfed just like removing wigs :(

So if you get 25 points, then you may get the badge 17:43 This is what I was talking about Kinda makes these games untestable if you don’t find the code because it won’t find the notification systems
Hai ya folks! I'm a 2016-2017 player, and I remember a lot of these features being talked about before, and played as a guest for the majority of my beginnings. It was such a nostalgic trip through this video, and I would confirm most of these, as my oldest and first accessories are the Slime Crown from Nickelodeon, Violet Guardia, Egg Hunt eggs, an Artic Fox head with a gingerbread pal from this one winter event, and many other events, but it was really sad when events were slowly disappearing for the longest time. Until it came back with the Hunt, but it wasn't as good as the others. It was nice to see most discontinued things in this video, and know what else they had. So sad as I missed some of these because I didn't want to make an account in 2016 and just stayed as a guest. But it was nice while these lasted!
As a previous player from 2008 - 2016 this brought back a lot of good memories, you've got me reminiscing on all the stuff I took part of with some old friends that aren't around anymore. 6:08 - For the Bloxxer badge, you also had to have more KOs than wipeouts in total. This was a problem for some users (including me) who played obbies/survival games/other stuff where you die a lot, and didn't play fighting games too much. At one point, I had about 2k more wipeouts than I had KOs, so getting that badge took a lot of time.
I joined 2013. Though since i was so little at the time, i never really payed attention at these changes, until, of course, the tickets being removed. During that event, you actually could not get any more tickets from what i remember, you could only spend them.
I remember when there was a whole comment section under each game but then they removed that but there was still a comment section for each gamepass but that got removed too
I was just getting into the forums when Roblox deleted it. I played Roblox for years prior and never understood the point, probably because I was too young. But then they went and deleted it right when it clicked.
My introduction was playing as a guest, I just remember playing work at a pizza place but I don’t know if that was the game I played as a guest but I remember I had a lot of fun in 2016, I remember the player points vaguely but I don’t remember them actually doing anything. I remember seeing the builders club icons but didn’t know that’s what they were. I miss the old oof sound since it’s just so iconic. I started playing roblox in 2016 but lost the password to my first account, luckily I still got my 2017 account
good times! I remember the hubbub when TBC and OBC were introduced. also, a minor detail, but guests used to be able to talk through Canned Chat, which were a series of dialogue ranging from normal to meme-y 😢
Honestly, I think that Tix absolutely should have been either reworked or completely removed when they were. If you think the home page is awful today, imagine how much more flooded it would be if every visit gave the creator robux 😂😂

@@curepinkie1637 Sorta relatable. My parents didn't fear online purchases, but were wary of them. I ended up getting 2k robux one day on mobile, and as a joke, pressed the buy button and bought 2k more robux unknowingly. I continued to spam the button thinking it was a free robux glitch, but it was just mobile roblox's UI being shit and not showing up the "Enter credit card info" UI or whatever, causing me to max out my moms credit card.

Ngl, this video is actually really good, plus I remember the Builder’s Club stuff and guests before they got removed. One thing I would put as an honorable mention was the audio change that basically made audio over 5 second audio useless.

The one feature that I think was exploited well was being able to open the Roblox client on 2 separate accounts and you could play with yourself. Nerfed just like removing wigs :(

Hai ya folks! I'm a 2016-2017 player, and I remember a lot of these features being talked about before, and played as a guest for the majority of my beginnings. It was such a nostalgic trip through this video, and I would confirm most of these, as my oldest and first accessories are the Slime Crown from Nickelodeon, Violet Guardia, Egg Hunt eggs, an Artic Fox head with a gingerbread pal from this one winter event, and many other events, but it was really sad when events were slowly disappearing for the longest time. Until it came back with the Hunt, but it wasn't as good as the others. It was nice to see most discontinued things in this video, and know what else they had. So sad as I missed some of these because I didn't want to make an account in 2016 and just stayed as a guest. But it was nice while these lasted!

6:08 - For the Bloxxer badge, you also had to have more KOs than wipeouts in total. This was a problem for some users (including me) who played obbies/survival games/other stuff where you die a lot, and didn't play fighting games too much. At one point, I had about 2k more wipeouts than I had KOs, so getting that badge took a lot of time.
I joined 2013. Though since i was so little at the time, i never really payed attention at these changes, until, of course, the tickets being removed.
During that event, you actually could not get any more tickets from what i remember, you could only spend them.
I remember when there was a whole comment section under each game but then they removed that but there was still a comment section for each gamepass but that got removed too
I was just getting into the forums when Roblox deleted it. I played Roblox for years prior and never understood the point, probably because I was too young. But then they went and deleted it right when it clicked.
My introduction was playing as a guest, I just remember playing work at a pizza place but I don’t know if that was the game I played as a guest but I remember I had a lot of fun in 2016, I remember the player points vaguely but I don’t remember them actually doing anything. I remember seeing the builders club icons but didn’t know that’s what they were. I miss the old oof sound since it’s just so iconic.
I started playing roblox in 2016 but lost the password to my first account, luckily I still got my 2017 account
good times! I remember the hubbub when TBC and OBC were introduced.
also, a minor detail, but guests used to be able to talk through Canned Chat, which were a series of dialogue ranging from normal to meme-y 😢
