I used to work as a vet tech. Several observations: 1). it’s always the little dogs that you aren’t expecting to bite that bite the worst. 2) always assume that all dogs are trying to bite you at all times. Just because you know a dog you don’t “know” a dog 3) if you work with animals you’re going to get bitten at some point. Shit happens.

If she's a professional, doesn't she realize a dog that has never bitten before can get spooked and nip at someone. Especially because it was a new situation? Doesn't mean the dog had viscous tendencies. Plus, it is her job to deal with new dogs. Sometimes there's a nip or two when you work with dogs that belong to other people. Only way she wins is if she can prove the dog had a track record of biting and the Defendant failed to warn her.

The cause of the bite was the owner..
When she swooped in the dog became protective..
Only one person should handle a dog at one time..
It's very common for dogs to become aggressive in the presence of an owner..

I've never been bitten by any dog I've sat for, but I was bit by a customer's dog when I worked for a rural supply store. The owner was a regular and a favorite of mine and his little dog was always so excited to see me. Well, one day he forgets his wallet in his car and leaves the dog in the cart with with for a minute. I notice she started getting nervous when he was out of sight and I should've just kept it to speaking, but I made the mistake of trying to pet her and she bit me. Not much, really, but I didn't turn around and demand money from her owner because I made the choice to physically interact with a dog that wasn't feeling safe. Anytime you work or interact with animals, you run a risk.

I'm also a dog sitter on Rovver. I sometimes go over to client homes and baby sit the dogs and sometimes I let the dogs come to my home. The rule on rover is if you keep client dogs at your home, you are responsible for any damage to the dog or yourself. If you were at the client's home and the dog bites you then the client is responsible. Clearly she missed that part on the rules and regulations of rover. I'm pretty sure her case will be dismissed because she didnt follow the rover rules especially when it comes to dog attacks.

If an animal is scared or threatened it may bite you even if you've owned the dog a long time & there is no history of there having been any such action before. My dog is afraid of lightning & thunder & crawls under my bed to the darkest corner because he feels safe there. I've laid on the floor trying to get him to come out so I can hold him, but he stays & if I reach my hand to grab him he might nip me because of his fear.

and some people, even those who work in a vet all have varying chances of having an experience like that. A receptionist or appointment maker who sits at the front desk is less likely to get scratched or bitten by an animal than the actual veterinarian who sees the animal. The veternarian has a more explicit, and direct risk of having a dangerous outcome than a receptionist because the vet is the only thing physically interacting with the animal. But they both carry the same base level of risk, for simply being in the building where animals mainly traffic.

NOT make you a professional. You must be highly skilled

dogs. I can't even count how many times I have been bitten
or clawed by dogs (cats, horses, goats, or chickens). When
it is your JOB you don't bring lawsuits for injuries.
The only time I could possibly see a lawsuit is when an

It's hard for me to believe when people say, "He doesn't bite". We had a dog once and as much as we loved him, we were not blinded to the fact, he did bite. He always clenched with his teeth on our legs, above our ankles. My grandma would say, "Oh it's cuz he is little, he will grow out of it". Actually, we later had a second dog, he was a puppy, he never bit any of us. The first one, we were told was a rotweiller. The second one was a chihuaha, he was nice and he was smart. He was smart because when he wanted to go for a walk, he would put the leash inside his mouth and show us, kind of like saying, "Let's go for a walk, here's my leash".

I was a dog groomer and day care attendant and whenever I was bitten I never blamed the owner. They were always apologetic and I knew they were up on shots.

Considering the Plaintive's story I could see a case here. Not that I'm disagreeing with judge Judy yet in this circumstance it seems like the defendant provoked the dog to feel insecure and alert provoking the dogs to actually bite what they felt was the intruder. Any more than if you go to a vet with You're a dog there and tell the dog to bite the doctor that could be a lawsuit. In this case the dog felt that there was an intrusion with the manner in which the owner picked it up disturbed While the pet sitter was right next to it

My dog bit 2 x - once a vet tech holding her after a painful eye injury.
Another when she escaped my house, person that accidentally let her out, grabbed her by the leg.
Just because they bite, does not mean they are aggressive. Dog sitting i touched a dog in the hip/ he turned and bit me- he was 15 apparently had painful arthritis. I didn’t even tell the owner. It was extenuating circumstance, normally a docile fella.

My friend worked at a doggy daycare and she got bit two or three times and she told me that she would never try to sue the owners because that’s what she signed up for. She said I had to come to the realization that a dog would’ve more than likely bit me, or nipped me if I work in the industry

Injuries sustained while working become a WORKERS COMPENSATION issue. Plaintiff was injured while working with the anticipation of being paid (im sure). Neither claims the income for pet sitting or carries the insurance for on the job injuries. Anyone care to guess whether she informed her home owner's insurance agent she's running a business out of her home? A pet she sitting for gets out and bites a neighbor isn't covered either.

The dog more than likely got scared, because whoever swooped in to grab the dog, it got scared and bit. The person who would actually saw I’ve seen it happen before.

My dog got attacked in a socializing class while she was in her kennel. The dog was good aggressive but not dog aggressive ( that’s what they said) and my dogs tail went into his kennel when he was eating and he latched onto her and almost ripped her tail off. It took 3 people to get that dog off my puppy and she almost lost her tail but while she was being transported to the hospital next door, she got scared and bit one of the techs on the hand. He needed a few stitches but ultimately he was fine and he said it wasn’t my dogs fault and he understands that she was in distress and scared. She’s fine and they were able to save her tail but she’s scared of men and she has ptsd and has episodes whenever we go to the vet cause she links it to her attack

Wait! A dog isn’t liable if it bites a vet?
A couple of years back I stopped by and complemented this dudes brindle Cane Corso, when I did he broke out in tears.
He said the vet tech took the dog to the back where o fired the dog bit one to the point she was bleeding pretty bad and he was there waiting for the cops since they called and told him to wait outside.
