Great stage effects, but lacked energy. Jet - I liked two of their songs, but they just seemed like a bunch of wankers on stage. Hated it. Almost walked out, but friends wanted to stay.
@@ericrobertson2024 Totally understandable. I liked Fly On The Wall at the time, because I pretty much liked EVERYTHING they did. After Nostradamus, I wasn't expecting Redeemer to be any good.
I had tickets for Iron Maiden on the massive Powerslave tour at Radio City in NYC and it was one of the only shows cancelled because they all got the flu. A letdown but not their fault. I think the bigger letdown was some of my friends at the show the night before where Bruce was constantly running offstage to throw up. I'd rather get the refund!
If you go to see Maiden you are not supposed to have fun. It's a battlefield. Prepare to survive or stay home. If you can't handle Maiden shows better go to some beach boys concert.
Actually I saw KISS on the Psycho Circus tour. It wasn't bad. I also saw the first and only IMHO farewell tour for KISS in 2000 and again maybe I caught them on a "good" night but both times they were good. The best of the "reunion" tours was in 1996. That was fantastic. It took me back to 1979 and my first concert on the dynasty tour. That was the let down. The opening band was Judas Priest on the Hell Bent for Leather tour and they were on fire. That was the night I graduated from KISS to real metal. Now for myself here are some diapointments: Aerosmith- any album after Get a Grip. Total sucksge. The "rock" really left the band. Metallica - the Load/ Reload era. Very underwhelming hard rock. A few good tunes but man it paled in comparison to their first 5 albums. Death Magnetic got me back into them. Thank God. Venom live- maybe it was a bad night. They were the headliner on that tour in 85 with Slayer and Exodus. Slayer was really awesome and Exodus was so intense. Another band that I went to see live that was disappointing live was Saxon. That was in 1986. Maybe it was a bad night but man they were flat. The opening band was Raven. They were much more energetic. 1987 Megadeth on the Peace Sells tour. They were really messed up on drugs and booze. Mustaine was over during the gig showing Chris Polland how to play the songs. Sad show. The opening bands were Metal Church who were awesome that night snd Anthrax. Very tight live band. I saw Ozzy in 86 with Metallica opening at the UIC Pavilion. Jake E. Lee was so wasted that night. Jake passed out behind his amps. Meanwhile Metallica with Cliff on the Puppets tour. A+ show. So that's a few off the top of my head. Classic Grant on a rant and Phillip on those bizaro world Fripp videos. Very odd videos.
I think Cronos was on heroin and Abandon was on cocaine during the 85 tour , according to Mantas lol...Metal Church opening for Megadeth , that makes sense , on paper ...as far as notoriety ,,, maybe , but not in reality.
Great show and panel. Here are a few of mine. AC/DC: The “trilogy” of Fly on the Wall, Blow Up Your Video, and The Razors Edge. Fly is easily the best of the three, but the production really puts a damper on was actually a good set of songs. The Cars: Door to Door. A very lackluster album. Def Leppard: Everything after Pyromaniac. Maiden: No Prayer and Fear of the Dark. Rush: They were never the same after Power the Windows. Clockwork Angels could’ve been a return to form, but the production is awful.
Not a total band letdown, but there's a video when Rob Halford joined Skid Row on stage to sing Delivering the Goods wearing a grunge outfit of rolled up jeans, flannel shirt and backwards baseball hat.
Van Halen, DLR was drunk at the concert I saw, turned it into one of the worst concerts I ever saw. 1982 Diver Down tour. Have struggled to listen to DLR Van Halen since
I saw that same tour, Queensryche opening for Ozzy. Queensryche was great but Ozzy was a disaster; singing off key on every song, or so it seemed. Wanted to leave because I had gone really to see Queensryche. So disappointing.
Van halen. Jump. When 1984 came out i expected this killer album. I love women and children first and Fair Warning. And VH 1 and 2. Then, here comes Jump. What a huge bummer. Everybody loves that album but i dont. Sellout .
One of my letdowns is Rob Halfords book. Judas is my fav band and i expected his book to be about making all those great albums and cool tour stories. Nope. The whole book was abt him banging dudes. Couldnt care less abt his preferences, but i expected stuff abt albums and concerts
Good show , Grant and panel 👏
I like your HammerFall-shirt. I have already seen the band six times. They would deserve more attention, especially obviously outside Europe.

Wow. That sucks … I was at that concert but in Cleveland. The biggest letdown was the opening band, Twisted Sister! 😮
But I had 6th row center stage so all was well!!! 🎉
Catching this on the replay gents.
I love what Dickinson did. Animals burning down the stadium when people are trying to watch a show and have fun. Good for him.
I agree. They are animals and this behaviour is unacceptable. But putting the nationality in front of such a heavy word went a bit too far.
If you go to see Maiden you are not supposed to have fun. It's a battlefield. Prepare to survive or stay home. If you can't handle Maiden shows better go to some beach boys concert.
Genesis after making Dentist office music.

I disagree about Robert fripp. Those are great and fun to watch
Of course, maybe just not my brand of funny videos 😊
Great show and panel. Here are a few of mine.
AC/DC: The “trilogy” of Fly on the Wall, Blow Up Your Video, and The Razors Edge. Fly is easily the best of the three, but the production really puts a damper on was actually a good set of songs.
The Cars: Door to Door. A very lackluster album.
Def Leppard: Everything after Pyromaniac.
Maiden: No Prayer and Fear of the Dark.
Rush: They were never the same after Power the Windows. Clockwork Angels could’ve been a return to form, but the production is awful.
And to think: Psycho Circus was only half way into KISS’ career. They still had another 25 years to go…
Van Halen, "Balance." I think the material is weak. I actually prefer "Van Halen 3" and I really prefer "A Different Kind Of Truth."
I’m with you but we are in the minority. Balance is boring.
It was ho'ible, ho'ible, ho'ible! (c) Grant
ADKOT has been really hard for me to embrace…it’s so hot and cold for me. “Balance” has a lot great songs. VH3? Well…
Love Beach by ELP lmao
This panel should have been called "Crybabies on a tension"😅
Guns and Roses: “The Spaghetti Incident”…🤮
Theatre of Pain and The Pack Is Back, being a mid 80s metal fan did have drawbacks.
Every Motorhead album
Not a total band letdown, but there's a video when Rob Halford joined Skid Row on stage to sing Delivering the Goods wearing a grunge outfit of rolled up jeans, flannel shirt and backwards baseball hat.
On one of those MTV shows I think...Most Wanted or Total Request maybe...I've always disliked that song anyway ,, and Priest are among my favorites.
Danzig 5. It was awful.
Metallicas haircuts and image change seemed to horrify people at the time.
Morrisey appears to have upset Smiths fans with his views these days.
Van Halen, DLR was drunk at the concert I saw, turned it into one of the worst concerts I ever saw. 1982 Diver Down tour. Have struggled to listen to DLR Van Halen since
A shame aboit the Afghan Whigs. Dulli was an arrogant punk in his youth, much better these days.
I saw that same tour, Queensryche opening for Ozzy. Queensryche was great but Ozzy was a disaster; singing off key on every song, or so it seemed. Wanted to leave because I had gone really to see Queensryche. So disappointing.

this is whining...
