outside my house it is 105 degrees today and after taking a ride in my Honda PC800 motorcycle I felt without energy and came home to rest a while in the a/c. Then, I find this video in youtube. I've been watching youtube for many years, but this is the first video that really touches my heart. You reminded me so much when I was 6-7 in my country and my grandfather would walk out of our house in the farm, walk to his biplane and take off, fly around, land and go to deal with the day's work. It really is an inspiring video.
+malanga13 Hi Friend. I was very happy to know you appreciated the video. I understand very well what you reported about your grandfather. My father was, also, a pilot of the romantic era and I was very young acompanishing him at the small airclub to fly with him. Keep in touch. Good flights. Salles
Hey! morkbov. Just how many planes have you built? So, what was your first? Please let the world know. We are waiting for your video of the plane you built. But, there is no airplane is there.
Hi Marcello, just came across your video and wanted to say well done, and to ask if you have to get clearance from your government to fly aerobatic manouevers?
Hello Marcelo, I am considering building a T15 and I keep coming back to your post. Yours is the nicest one I have seen so far. A great looking job and beautifully displayed and filmed. (Military background?). It gives an excellent impression of what the aircraft is capable of, at least in your configuration. Very good vertical penetration. (Enough to keep me happy!) Not unlike the Steward mustang that I saw demonstrated at Oshkosh in 1998. A beautifully designed aircraft. A great pity it proved impractical (too expensive) to have the kit manufactured. We have a T15 dealer here in the UK (in England at least, I live in Scotland). But before I talk to him, I wonder if you could answer two questions: which engine and prop reduction drive are you using? The performance looks excellent and also, the prop is the right scale, which makes all the difference in looks and, possibly performance (?). My second question is about ease of trailering. Can the wings be removed and remounted reasonably easily? I don't have an airport nearby with hangar facilities. Thanking you in advance, Dick Oostindie
Hi Theodor. The T-51 is a nice plane to fly. You will have 90% of the pleasure to fly the real Mustang, at 10% of the cost. Jolly Julia has a 185 HP Suzuki Gran Vitara engine. I replace the original belt drive reduction and electrical pitch control. Now, she has a geared reduction box and it permitted the use of hydraulic pitch control (constant speed). Titan is offering the Honda 230 HP, saying the relation power/weight is the same of the original P-51. Yes. The big propeller is a must. It improves efficiency and appearance a lot. I will ask you to pay attention at the short exhaust pipes. I had to open the heads of the engine to replace valves and seats after 120 hours burning AVGAS. The Suzuki engine was designed to burn MOGAS without lead and with long exhaust pipes. When burning AVG with short exhaust pipes, valve operates bellow 900ºF and lead deposits will appear. They are corrosive and the valves will be destroyed. I designed new exhaust pipes but still have no time to install them. The left side 3 port motor exhaust will be connected to the right side 6 port exhaust exit. The same for the other side. This will increase the length of the pipes, keeping the valves hot. Meanwhile, I am flying with MOGAS. This brings me some troubles to refuel at other airports and I have to use a richer misture to compensate 25% of álcool Brazilian MOGAS has. Power was reduced a little, but I still can do aerobatics very easy. I do not recommend to remove the wings and trailer the plane every time you will fly. It is too much work and time. Soon you will give up and you will increase the change of some damage during assembling/disassembling the wings. I live 2 hours by car far from my plane. Also because I have no airport near my house. Be free to contact me if you have any other question. Nice flights
Hi Marcelo, Many thanks for taking the time to give me such a full answer to my questions. There is a lot of very useful information there! I haven't flown for a long time and only sporadically light aircraft, since I came to the UK.Now that I am retired as a commercial pilot I look forward to get back to 'grass roots' . It's expensive here, so I do need to build something first, particularly because I like aerobatics. A lot to be learned and relearned! E.g. about MOGAS. I believe it's approved for most homebuilt aircraft here, depending on engine, probably. We don't have as much as 25% alcohol or other fuels mixed in, but I believe there is some. I have to build a workshop yet, so some time before I can start the building proces. I'd better get a move on! I'm impressed with your exhaust system design. Sounds like an interesting little (but not that little!) engineering project. Good luck with that! Meanwhile, I am grateful to know that I can approach you again with further questions. I suppose TH-cam is as good as any other medium for that purpose? (I haven't used it for that until now, but obviously it works!) Best regards, Theodor
+bomrafinha Não vi sua pergunta antes. O projeto é comprado em Kit, da Titan Aircraft. Foram montados dois pelo Roberto, em Amarais, Campinas. Eu fiz algumas modificações.
Nice plane. I am just starting to build mine. I can’t wait to fly it. Will be using the LS3 V8. Feel free to follow my build and share any pointers. AV8AK

Sounds sweet and strong, my Dad would be so happy for you, God Bless you and your dream !.
Many thanks James
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!.... BEAUTIFUL MACHINE AND EXCELLET PILOT....
Precious flight, the music theme perfect!!!! 👏👏👏👏 Greetings from Argentina.
I love the airplane. Beautiful job. With the music I kept expecting The Rocketeer to fly by.
I thought the same, in fact might go watch the movie now....lolol
THAT is why we all want to fly.
WOW. Beautiful aircraft. This will be my next build for sure.

Very nicely done, great energy management. I own Sea Horse (kit 112) - also a Honda powered Mustang.
I also like that it is choregraphed to the music.
I am Brasilian , "She" is a beautiful machine👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great vt, Marcelo! Beautiful scenery and nice flying! Congratulations on the T51!
Thank you mate!
Great video, I would love to fly that one, but the music kills the video effect (which could of been awesome)
Agree 100%! Why the music at all???
Increíble cómo mueve el avión. Buena canción empleada en el montaje!
Bom ver vc voando!

Very nice aircraft Sir, Blue skies and fair trade winds happy flying!
Trade winds are for boats not airplanes!

A escala é 1:1?
3:4
Amigo, essa réplica é em tamanho real ? Tem motor V12 Merlin?
Vídeo muito legal!
Beautiful plane, but video wrecked by the background music! When will videographers get it? We DON’T want to hear anything but the aircraft.
Parabéns pela aeronave e pelo vídeo! Sds
Gee that's nice:-)
Builder factory ???
Homemade using a kit
..there are a 80 or 90% scales?
Blecaute he hasnt a full scale one. Ok, everybody here in Brazil also believes I look like Putin. Nice flights
repost please without the music.....PLEASE...
Buon giorno a tutti gli youtuber, che ditta costruisce queste repliche?
Buon giorno Massimo.
Questo è un kit prodotto negli Estati Uniti da Titan Aircraft. È stato assemblato in Brasile.
Why is Vladimir Putin flying a P-51 replica?
qual motor usado?
+Mestre Bruno Bom dia. O motor é do Suzuki Grand Vitara, 6 cilindros, 185 HP. Está com redução 2:1 e hélice com passo variável.
nice Spitfire
Is this a full scale replica p51?
It is a 75% replica scale
Marcelo Salles ah, ok cool. Really awesome video, love seeing these replica videos
So.... Marcelo, do you think you could repost this "WITHOUT" the stupid music that covered up what I can only imagine was a great sounding flight....
I like the music. 😊
quien los hace que vale una replica
You can tell it is a replica the landing gear is not right . Never the Less beautiful airplane
I think the video would've been better without the piano music
Not quite big enough, but I like.
The piano music is lovely but would have preferred to listen to the music the engine was making. The piano was unnecessary. Beautiful aircraft.
Love it but less music please
Sonofaguninmo b.
Felicidades por esta hermosa aviones
happy ladings and my best greetings from germany

GRAET!!!!
Because he hasnt a full scale one. Ok, everybody here in Brazil also believes I look like Putin. Nice flights
Screw music when the sound of flight is not enough, then flight is not for you.
Just look how he flies his plane. A bad soundtrack choice doesn't mean flying is not for him. You're just being a jerk, and flying is not for jerks.
Because he doesnt have a full scale one. Ok, everybody here in Brazil also believes I look like Putin. Nice flights
You mean to tell us that every single person in Brazil knows this guy. Must be a drug dealer!
Hi Theodor
In spite communication by youtube works, you may prefer to contact me by marcelosalles51@yahoo.com
Pony Mustang ))
Would've been nice to hear this bird instead of that awful background piano ....it's everywhere! Tv programmes and TH-cam too...😡
Another video ruined by loud obnoxious music. Why would anyone make a P-51 video and cover it up with music? I will never understand.
What's with the awful disruptive piano crap
Kill the music don't need it
ruined it with music
nice vid but the piano sucks
Damn that music.....shit get rid of it.....
Nice plane. I am just starting to build mine. I can’t wait to fly it. Will be using the LS3 V8. Feel free to follow my build and share any pointers. AV8AK
STOP THE STUPID MUSIC.!!!
Because he hasnt a full scale one. Ok, everybody here in Brazil also believes I look like Putin. Nice flights
