I always watch this channel thinking that I’m popping in on a fellow ham. Carl is an awesome dude, he does a lot of the same all hams do, always great to see hams in other countries do the exact same as I do. (I’m in US). Haters gonna hate, Carl is bad ass, id hang out with him!
Really glad the channel isn't a tutor video. We are all learning together and I very much enjoy seeing all the different things you try out. I would never have known the tent was inside out.. I've got a neighbour similar although the bridges are well and truly burned. I'm building a portable 20m moxon that will go on the 12m Spiderbeam about 7m up. It will be up for a day or 2 at time over the year. Not a thing he can do about it. As it's temporary and up for less than 28 days per year. Have fun with your set up.

I'm starting my Essex Ham course for Foundation licence this weekend.. not too late I hope at 73 !! but at the moment I'm avidly watching every youtube video to do with amateur radio. I love your style and your honesty so I am now one of your devoted followers. Regarding your audio quality, it sounds fine...maybe try a wireless mic where the receiver is on your camera and the transmitter is hidden in your pocket. I use one on my youtube channel and they are great, as well as cheap as chips. 73's.

There are lots of serious technical channels but they don't represent real ham radio to me. Most of my projects stall/fail/fall down. Some work but guaranteed to only work when the propagation is poor. It's all trial and error for me and thats what I love about it. That's when I learn. P.s. love the truck by the way, very jealous. I have a company car so limited radio wise, you've made me want to buy a radio car now!
Yes ham radio is about solving problems to get the best out of what you have. I was lucky to find the truck in such good condition for the price, it drinks diesel like it’s going out of fashion

If they think your ants are ugly, tell them not to be nosy and look over your property. People should respect other peoples Choices, as long as it is not a disturbing others. One of my neighbors told me their didn't like looking at my ant when their could look down onto it from their bedroom window, I said I didn't really looking at her in her bedroom window, but I had more respect than to tell her, I simply got on with my life and turned away. Life is too short to worry about others who have negative opinions about others. As long as you get enjoyment from your hobby and making videos that's the important thing, their will always be peopl who moan, and regardless of what many think we all make mistakes in our life , if some think their are perfect, their need to look in the mirror because they have a problem. Put a DX Commander or similar, they are 'temporary' but are so damn strong you can have it up 'for quite a while'. Funny that some people just don’t seem to appreciate the technical beauty of a modest antenna farm. I think a dx commander is much more palatable than the now ubiquitous urban trampoline. Bet the dx will do less to reduce the saleability of you and your neighbours house. I wonder if you could get a trampoline to give you a tune on 40, perhaps swop the netting for some wire -). I tuned each one against a ground plane/counterpoise system and then tested when in dipole config. If each leg is identifical fine tuning each leg to keep balance
I find it funny the one guy has a problem about you putting up a permanent ham antenna. But looks like the house other side of you has some sort of a antenna going on not sure what it's for.
your neighbour can do nothing legally to prevent you putting up temporary structures. around my neck of the woods buildings are going up in gardens without planning permission.

Thanks, one tip is to try and link the theory to your practice especially with the topics you don't like, not the ones you do and know more about.
