OMG! I love this video on these wicker, rattan, raffia bags. They are a love of mine ever since I found my grandmother's 1950's vintage wicker bag that I used until it the linning fell apart. I absolutely loved that bag. I purchased a Ferragamo wicker bag 13 years ago with white leather that I still use every Spring and Summer. Ferragamo makes beautiful wicker bags. Thanks for sharing yours. I thouroughly enjoyed this video.

What an incredible collection! I am kicking myself for not grabbing the wicker Gucci when it popped up on Fashionphile a few months ago. But I had just purchased a bag, and was trying to be reasonable (which I have a problem with when it comes to handbags!).
BUT I just recently purchased the wicker Capucines while on vacation in France, and it is truly a stunner, even more beautiful than the pictures and video I had seen. I can’t believe my luck that I was able to find one. I was over the moon find it!
And coincidentally I saw a woman wearing a wicker mini Kelly at the Hermes boutique in Nice on my last day. I had never seen any of the wicker Hermes bags in person, and it sure was a beauty! Tiny, but gorgeous. A VERY French Riviera bag for sure! 😊

I have a few not as nice as yours, I have a juicy Couture one, and a few random ones, the best one I have is from Amish basket makers, but nothing as awesome as your the weaving is all similar it's always the finish details that make the difference in wicker but I love basket woven bags

Just bought my first Loewe (or rather, first luxury piece ever) raffia small tote. It’s totally making me addicted to all things raffia so this vid came at a good timing!
One thing I’ll say is that raffia definitely won’t survive as well compared to leather bags (my new bag has started to show some light wear after a few hours 😵) so these things need extra care~ totally in love with your Dior bag here
Not going to lie, the medium loewe bag reminds me of the baby in prince of egypt floating down the river and avoiding crocodiles haha

With your massive collections of bags, I’m wondering how you clean and maintain their pristine conditions. Care to share with us, please?!☺️
Hi my dear! Yay so glad you love wicker bags too. To be honest since I do have a big collection I rotate them a lot. After I use each bag and even my shoes I give them a quick wipe down with a soft micro fibre cloth and using bag inserts keep the insides clean. Also as these bags are made of natural materials they generally are quite hardy and water resistant some more than others that’s why there is a lot of outdoor wicker furniture too Xx

Hey Mel, I love your whole wicker collection! I've tried Loewe ones, but I find that they open really wide and make an easy target for pickpocketing, so I do love their designs & anagram, but have to give a miss for now. Unless I change my mind when I go to Spain next year! But out of all, the Lady Dior wicker is the best version, very classy and elegant. I saw the bag in person last week and was immediately impressed by Dior artisans weaving standards! I'm sold on it! In fact, I'm going back to my local boutique tomorrow to grab it! Wanted to make sure that I'm making a right choice, so I'm watching all the Dior wicker bag TH-cam videos now! 👀 One question though, as the bag ages, will the rattan discolour? I've browsed the Dior wicker bags from resellers and despite some being brand new, unworn, but stored for a year, the rattan does turn colour. Like some parts are whiter, and some other areas are more brownish. However the one I saw at Dior is in pristine condition, unlike the resale ones! So although it's a hefty price tag (SGD$8,800), I'll still buy directly from the boutique. Resellers can price it $1000-$2000 cheaper, but the condition is not good. Can't wait for tomorrow! 🛍️

which is the lightest weight for your wicker /raffia bag? is the dior also light bag?
The lightest would be the Loewe basket bags. The dior wicker bag is prob the heaviest of the lot but I don’t find it heavy personally x
