    Dave I have single cav mold husky valve gate we can't get the gate to cure we add more cooling on A side front still not luck any suggestion

      Not sure is the valve gate shutting off correctly if not it will leave a high gate where the valve gate is. Water temp is one way or taking down the manifold heats as well. Not 100% sure without looking at a part. I hope this helps, if you had a picture to look at the issue, I might be able to help you better sorry. What is the correct term for a key that switches which cavity in the mold you want to fill? I find the shop I work at kind of makes up terms on the fly and I’m looking to change that for ease of communication. Love the channel

      The correct term is (Switchover or Transfer position) this is also called 1st stage to 2nd stage on older machines. The way is you fill the part to 95% to 98% in 1st stage the transfer to hold after you get to 95% or 98%. I hope this is what you were asking & I hope this helps you out. Can you guide me to set the correct opening and closing time of the valve pin? Calculator time setup open-close valve pin????

      It deepens on if it a sequenced valve gate. Most valve gates open at start of injection. If you have a big part, you are filling. You open the gate & watching where the flow is. 1st gate must past the next gate before opening that valve gate to the next one. If you want, I think I made a video over it. Thanks for watching & the support.

      @@injectionmoldingskillsmore1064 Do you have the formula to calculate the valve opening time or not?

      @@tuhoctiengnhatvaanhchuyenn1727 The best way to get a starting point for the settings would be through simulation. You would need to match your flow rate between the simulation and the press, but also remember the analysis software assumes your press and material are perfect and in real life it won't be. Calculating it by hand would not be worth the time since material flows radially so if the width of your part is changing the speed would also be changing.

    The company i work for just got a hot runner mold. How can i determine if the mold has valve gates or a different type of gate?

    • @injectionmoldingskillsmore1064
      @injectionmoldingskillsmore1064  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The valve gates are hydraulic or pneumatic hook ups. If you don't have this then they are regular gates.

    I have one doubt where we are using valve type and for which type components we are using sprue type gates in hot runner system?

      We run ultem on a couple jobs at work and is our highest melt material, and not the funnest to run. We have one tool that has a valve gate and hot runner. It took a while to process in but have been able to produce quality parts.

      Using reprocessed material that may have metal or other junk can cause these issues. On start up if heats are not up to temp and valve gates are turned on before heat up, hardened material may damage valve pins.

      @@joehart103 Sorry if I confuse you, We are buying new presses that have the valve gates intergraded in to the press PLC. We have a lot of older presses from 1954 & up. So we use portable units to control the valve gates. This is what I was trying to relay to you sorry if I miss understood you.
