Thanks for the GREAT tip! I had the base model Weber kettle for years and just looked underneath for the vent positions. When I upgraded to the Premium model with the ash can that method didn't work anymore. I used your methodology but I ditched the Sharpie and drilled holes to mark the settings I measured.
Also an effective way of marking. Wr appreciate the kudos. Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
Once you have the marks for fully closed and open you can just measure the center point between the two for 1/2 open. Then find the center point between the 1/2 mark for 1/4 and 3/4 open.
In a perfect world, that theory would like up precisely.
Also, if you find a perfect world... Let is know 😂
Thanks for watching Capt!
You guys are funny but putting out great info for us. I went a little and made permanent marks with a drimmel tool. Exactly same idea as you are passing along to all of us. Thanks!!
Thanks Mark. We may make it permanent once we agree on how we want them positioned. CHEERS!!!
Great tip for vent setting levels, and a dram does sound good when doing BBQ but unsure about Ardbeg smokey coffee. Cheers!
Thanks Mose. We're hoping it helps some people. CHEERS!!!
Awesome tip!!
We appreciate the feedback Corey.
Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
Perfect... This is actually a great tip. 😎
We're glad you appreciate it Copywriting.
Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
I’ve got the cheapest 22”, I anchored a piece of cedar onto the legs using sheet metal screws and just touching the handle and marked that with a wood burner.
Very interesting! My new Weber 22” kettle has different bottom vents than yours! The vents aren’t just straight like yours but have a bulbous bit on the end, almost like a P shape. I’m enjoying your videos and learning a lot!
Klaus
That is exactly how mine is too. I think the newer ones see like that.
They have made a few tweaks in the last 5 years. The one we used was bit older.
Makes sense. Thumbs up!
Thanks John.
Good tip
Thanks Chad. CHEERS!!!
Thank you
You're welcome.
Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
I hate having to open the lid, trying to see through any smoke, ash all in the way, and trying to decipher where the blades are...kinda feel dumb for not already doing this lol. Great video ya'll
Glad you like it. CHEERS!!!
Nice video
Thank you Dan.
CHEERS!!!
so as usual I have questions. 1 is this a 22 or 26"? 2 I just bought a 22" a few months ago and the bottom vents are different now. Can you guys come to my house and help me set my vents up too? It's just a real quick ride on Evans bike over to San Diego. Two up on the crotch rocket no problem right?
Sure thing David, we'll be there for Cinco De Mayo! 😂 This video was on Evan's 22, pretty elementary method, but effective.
Looking forward to the Ardbeg/Coffee video..lol
Hahahaha. The cook isn't. Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
He just might be surprised. Cheers!!
Your wizards
Mine is set of on little more difficult scale.

Good measurements. I hope the little trick is working well for you. Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
You have officially marked your Webber one too many times. 3 is unnecessary but, for the purpose of this video I'd say 👍
Thumbs up for you and shame on Weber
Thanks Lurch. The cook loves his Webers but there are just a couple things that can make them more perfect. CHEERS!!!
Why shame on Weber? They've made the best low-cost grill in existence for over half a century, with an ingenious ash-cleaning system... All us zeros have to do are make a couple of hash marks. Is that so much to ask? LOL
@@MrVara411 lol so true.
You guys act like siblings! 😂
I'm the favorite child.
Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
@@WhiskyandBBQ Thanks for the reply, it good to know, I’m not commenting to a bot. 😂
wtf
Yup. Pretty easy hack to make things easy.
You guys talk too much.
We get that a lot.
Thanks for watching and CHEERS!!!
