    Eric, thanks so much for sharing you collection and your passion. Your watch selection and the stories behind them were fun to listen to and share in. The journey is the best part along with the mishaps. We often set aside our impulse moments and only focus on our triumphs. But you let it all hang out. Those kids seem very lucky to have you as their vice principal. Happy hunting for your next great piece. Cheers!

    Rado truly makes bulletproof watches.
    My father was gifted a quartz integral some 30 years ago from his father, and the battery died around year 5. He never got the battery changed until he gave it to me a few months ago, so it went 25 years without any service or battery. We put a new one in and it keeps seconds a month. Absolutely incredible!

      I'm all in favor of this. We don't exactly shoot for a target run time, but these collector conversations are always at least 20 minutes by necessity. While we have a large number of featured guests, it's relatively tough to find one who focuses on a narrow theme. A very veteran collector like William Massena or a brand specialist like John Reardon could speak to a narrow theme. Check out my "Tim Mosso Podcast" for extended discussions with both of them.

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. I enjoyed this interview because Eric is all of us. This is an intimidating hobby given the money involved, often sight-unseen purchases, self-appointed taste police, and frequent contact with absurdly rich figures who can afford anything. The last thing I ever want on this show is to exacerbate any of those barriers.
      Best,
      Tim

    I hate to rain on your parade but McQueen wore the Monaco only for the Le Mans movie and it was the prop manager Don Nunley's suggestion cause he had a Heuer badge on his character's uniform and McQueen gifted the watch to him after the film wrapped up. In his personal life he wore a Hanhart 417 ES. He even wore the Hanhart in his movie 'The War Lover'... Just facts..

    It's weird. Every watch collector interviewed seemed to speak to Tim with some degree of respect and reverence. This one, while in no way rude, speaks in an authoritative tone that one would usually use when talking to someone who knows less of the subject matter.. 😅

      I've experienced this for short periods of time -- a week, for example. It's not impossible in the same sense that your car might beat its fuel economy rating under the right circumstances. But over months, very few mechanical watches can be *expected* to perform like this.
