Love poem songs are all gems. You should listen to LULLABY if you haven't since you're a big fan of Dear Name. As for IU's lyrics, you're really gonna have a hard time finding a good translation for most of her songs since her lyrics in Korean are so poetic it's quite hard to convey the message when translated in English.
And all lilac songs are good and the meaning
"Bad Day" and "Lullaby" i think is up to your musical taste coz you once said that with IU's songs, you tend to lean on the darker, melodic side...
Plus Voice Mail (kor ver), Secret, Searching For A Star, Taking A Train, maybe Cruel Fairytale too. Kinda dark but in melodic side. Some of it have that intense ballad.
@@jieunggg1107 "Voicemail" yes, i just listened to it the other day and it was so good plus Morning Tears. "The things I do Slowly" is also kinda sad song. "Secret" definitely! I love how her team dont want her to sing that song again because of the heaviness of the song.. "Child Searching for a Star" is also nice and "Ugly Duckling" and "Zeze"...
@@jian3579 yup.. i love the vibe of The Things I Do Slowly and Ugly Duckling. Also Daydream from Modern Time's album 💜💜💜. All of them have that melodic side.
Its not your everyday IU song, but it kinda grows on you the more you listen to it.
Actually Unlucky IU wrote it for herself, to consolation everytime she has unfair/unlucky things in her life, but I think it related to everyone
Jieun-i is a normal or casual way of calling her name, also I read somewhere that it's also translate to "author" which was also included in the lyrics of blueming. The "jieun-i, that's me" (blueming part), it's a play word for jieun-i (as her name) and jieun-i (as the author who will write the part 2 of their story, based on the lyrics of blueming).
Plus, love poem album is like a book, that's why she used jieun-i (author) - IU

For me, I really recommend The Visitor, Lullaby, Bad Day, Taking a train, Ugly Duckling, and Teardrops in the morning. She also sing an ost from a famous kdrama, the song is I give you my heart. And also a beautiful unreleased song called "The station"

In this song, there is a fun element to feel the charm of IU's lyrics.
There is a song called "Red queen" from the past songs. The song has the lyrics "Hey, why are you angry?", "Hey, why are you doing evil?" And there are lyrics that seem to answer the question in Unlucky. IU writes all the lyrics oneself, so the lyrics related to the past appear often and it's fun to find them.
지은이 is normally used as "written by" but here it can also be interpreted as Jieun-i as if you are calling her name

Coz IU said that she would choosed "writer/song writer" rather than singer/producer/actress. So that why she always focused on words. But it doesn't meant that she ignore the music. Coz as we know her taste of music is can be acceptable for all
Not all her b-sides are alike, you will have to consider the track placement in her album as well .. for Unlucky and her other first track of the album Dwlrma, it is often more light and simple in melody - like a theatrical introduction/ warm up to her album and not a normal song I would say haha
IU is a great singer and I am proud of being a Korean. I made the most donations among Asian under 29 donors. They helped people with poor family conditions and those who did not have surgery. .
I love the meaning of the lyrics more, i want to know the song is meaningful, thats why i cant get into any idols that has more of a catchy tunes than the lyric side. Its one of the many reason i fall for IU more and more🥰

Not all IU songs were for everybody. Her music kinda unique, so i as fan understand if ppl don’t like her songs. But to me, you can never find someone create songs like her. She not like taeyeon if want to compare. Taeyeon have vocal have singing style that we used to it, but iu not, kinda boring but that’s her. I appreciate iu much more bcs she knew her capability n do what she comfortable with. She is indeed indie singer songwriter

Aaron, I think you will like her b side song called "What I'm doing slow". I will recommend listening to the live performance during her "dlwlrma concert" in Seoul. Also, it is not her song but she do a live performance of "Dear Moon" in Yui Hee chul sketchbook. Its one of the OST used in My mister.

No. it's wrong. 'i (이)' here is a noun. The suffix '~i' is totally different from this one.
When you use 'i' as a suffix, there is no space between the name and 이 (ex: 지은이, not 지은 이).
'i' here is a noun, indicating 'a person'.
When you use it as a noun, it indicates the person described by the phrase/word in front of 'i'. And there must be a space between the describing phrase/word and 이.
ex: 손에 꽃을 들고 있는 '이' ('the person' who is holding flowers in the hand)
Maybe ‘Secret’ or ‘Child searching for stars’ are some of her melodic ballads. I like how honest Aaron is always 😂 For IU songs and mostly B-sides, you really need to choose your taste since IU’s music are mostly not the “trendy” or “cliche” types and she likes playing around with diff genres. And like others said, the song positioning in the album is important for IU when she produces her albums. For IU produced albums, you can observe that she puts songs like ‘Shoes’, ‘dlwlrma’ and ‘unlucky’ to start the album, the sparkly ones. Tho she kind of changed it a bit for the Lilac album but its still similar.

If I understand your musical taste well, I recommend Blackout. It's the sixth track on palette album, and it's a energetic song about drinking alcohol. Personally, I liked the serious guitar solo, which is opposed by the playful bass rhythm. (the lyrics are soooo cute...😆) I always appreciate your video in Korea!! sorry for my bad english😂😂
