    My son and I walked the trail this morning. No mug or button. Someone was early and lucky. I have a disappointed 9 year old but it sure was a beautiful view.

    Greetings from York County! Thanks for doing this video because when I was scoping out our "new state park" I was confused as to where the trail to the overlook was. The little cluster of industry you see across the river just north of the Shocks Mill Bridge is the Lancaster County Solid Waste Authority Waste to Energy garbage incinerator and right next to it is a Perdue AgriBusiness soybean crusher/processing plant. I think the dam you were looking for is the York Haven Dam. It's just north of Brunner Island right next to York Haven. It's not quite as easy to see as the other dams down river until you're very close to it or on the other side of the river from it.

    I went out there today. Vey impressive! I really enjoyed it. The whole thing with the private farm is a little ambiguous, but, anyway. . .

    The view's were right up there with some of the best you've put up so far Cliff. Really awesome, I was thinking too as you hiked, that a whole day could be spent there. Hopefully they clear some trees there at the lookout. The best thing I like about the first day of winter 12/21 (shortest day) is the days (daylight) starts getting longer and quite noticeable by the end of January.😀😀😀

    Hello from Kentucky once again Cliff. 😀
    I love those rock formations. We have many of them here where I'm from. This the county named for them.. Rockcastle 👍🏼🪨🏰

    December 21? Man, I've been there 3 times and didn't know to look for the mug, lol. Great video and way to push farther across the ridge than most of us. Schull's sure is a vertigo-inducing overlook Cheers!

    Hi Cliff, this is going to be a lovely park once it is all finished, the Schull's Rock Overlook had some fantastic views.
    Does anybody else think that at 19:30 it looks like an old grave as it has a pile of rocks with one rock standing up like
    a grave marker ????. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤

    Great one yet again Cliff! And such a beautiful overlook. The area down the ridge was even more spectacular and looks like a great spot to hike to as long as the trees are bare. Thanks!

    I parked at River Rd and walked the trails in that section of the park. Got in 9.5 miles. Went down to the Confederate soldiers grave and the Marrietta Gravity Water Co. Dan. Mine pi’s as well.

    The views are amazing and beautiful, Cliff! Please be careful; wish you were walking with another
    hiker during these risky ones, though! Glad to see that the toad man didn't get you!

    Cliff of these new parks could you provide some information on why they are being preserved- historical interest, geography, particular trees or fluids etc?

    • @thewanderingwoodsman7227
      @thewanderingwoodsman7227  ปีที่แล้ว

      Primarily for recreation.

    • @imahick5723
      @imahick5723 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thewanderingwoodsman7227 yes that will be the new use. But obviously there was a reason for these lands to be preserved whether they were battlefields or early settlements etc.

    With so many State Parks it's a wonder there are any residential areas in Pennsylvania.

    • @verdashirk9819

      There are plenty of crowded residential areas in PA!

    Looks like a very impressive overlook, however the power plants and industrial stacks really kill the vibe for me. Many wonders on the lower Susquehanna, it's a very underrated region with an impressive amount of beautiful natural areas, but man has certainly left his indelible mark upon the place. Appreciate your work, research, and preparation , as always Cliff. That second overlook would be an amazing spot to catch a train crossing the bridge!
