- The Maestro 2 (Light) is a 'high B' wing from Phi paragliders. I tested it during the Stubai Cup.
In the extended edition on flywithgreg.com/programs/phi-..., we push the Maestro 2 further than before, with stall point tests, pitch limits, wingovers, spirals ... and gather insights in an in-depth interview with legendary designer Hannes Papesh.

I have had mine for a few months and love it, Was going to do a small walkaround review but havent had time. Excellent wing
I have the same lime color in a 22 - absolutely love the wing! Great performance and relaxing at the same time.
I got the normal version and really like it, but I wouldnt describe it as relaxing😄
@@Adr1i96yea I have the maestro 2 light in size 22, flying somewhere around 94 kg so I’m a little lighter than I’d like at the moment but I’m usually a little heavier than I am right now. Anyway I moved up from a UP Dena(high-A) so it is a bit of a jump. That being said in lighter conditions I absolutely love it and can outclimb most pilots who are more experienced than myself. In strong conditions (over 100° in Sierra Nevada mountains, high pressure, turbulence) it can be a little much, it’s very talkative which I love but it’s gonna take me a season to get used to it I think. I’ve only had 5 flights so far, a little over 3 hours, two evening flights and 3 mid day flights.
I have the "Full Fat' PHI Maestro 2 -25. I fly at an all up weight of 129KG and it flies very well indeed. I really like the 1st year warranty for factory repair or factory replacement...if pilot error breaks the wing with an oops moment. The C-riser pegs are new to me ,my last glider didn't have them and holding the wing down on a windy launch is easier, no more fumbling about. Build quality is excellent. Day one i registered my glider on the PHI website for warranty reasons and that was straight forward to do.
very nice Greg, thanks... hope you got to try the Flow Freedom 2 as well which I saw thermalling below you
thanks for sharing
I love this i have a air design soar and thinking of getting this wing as only ever got air design wings lol
Art :)
a nice appetizer
I got to get me one 😊
Do it! It’s an incredible wing! I got the 22 and fly at about 100-101 kg AUW and it’s incredible! It’s my second wing, jumped up from a UP Dena (high-A) so it was a considerable jump and the feedback was the hardest thing to get used to. I’m just over 10 hours on it and doing 10+ km out and return flights (I know that’s not a lot but it’s a pretty decent little XC in my area) and for a glider that has 76 cells, only weighs about 3.7 kg, and flying how it does is incredible. The glide ratio on speed bar is just insane after flying a high-A, the improvement has blown my mind.
Around minute 6:12 , when thermaling with deep brakes there's note saying that's not efficient. Why is that?
i guess he turned more tighter then he suppose to, just to test it. Smooth-flattened turn would be more efficient in that moment, i suppose
