It's hard to tell from online because one is in the 6 category and one is in 5 but IMO they are about the same "darkness", but Sandalwood is very green/olive and "desaturated" so kind of gray. Amber Honey is a little more warm and lively which is what I like and many other women with dark skin like, especially as the warmness helps counteract hyperpigmentation areas!

Im olive undertone and Amber Honey matches me great after warming up. I only got a sample because I thought Chestnut was my perfect shade, but it’s a tad dark. I also got Nutmeg that was too dark.

Hello I learned about double wear while on vacation in Texas. The makeup lady used a gadget to see what color was good for me and it was these two shades. Right off back I thought amber honey but the makeup lady and my cousin thought it was sandalwood. She gave me a sample of both to try and make a decision. After wear them both back and forth for a little over two weeks I decided to go with sandalwood. Surprisingly amber honey looked like sandalwood looked on you. So I would suggest if anyone is torn between 2 shades just get samples and try them out for a week or more before purchasing.

I had the exact same experience with Sandalwood. It turned so grey on me. I tried 3 or 4 more shades and they all turned grey. I gave up on this foundation and figured I didn’t have a good match. Fast forward saw women my colour saying they wore shades in the 5 category. Got some more samples and Finally Amber Honey is my match!!

that amber honey looks good on you. Im between amber honey 5.2n and 6.1n mocha. I literally did a side by side and i couldnt choose ugh i think one will be my summer and one will be my winter. i was matched in the store. the artist told me the machine says 6.1N but it will make me look ashy and 5.2 will be better. anyway wish me luck

I think it's already been said by everyone else but Amber Honey is the better fit. It is warmer and does not grey you out like Sandalwood. I noticed that your mouth and chin area appears to be slightly darker than your cheek area, so it might be worth trying to colour conceal in that area with a reddish-toned concealer to cancel out the darkness before applying your foundation.
@@KaizenTshego I actually threw it away because when I was getting match the white lady kept telling me it was correct and I was telling her it was to dark. I bought it to see if maybe in different lighting it could work but didn't. I ended up loosing the receipt.

It’s funny because the lady who gave me the amber honey sample told me never to use the foundation with a colour corrector but me being the person I am I went and got a colour corrector and what a disaster my darling! I think the foundation works best with combination to oily skin and best to do research then go to the stall with a list of possible shades and work through those with the beauty consultant. That way you are both working within a range you are comfortable with. With 61 shades and 3 undertones to choose from even the most experienced consultants can get your shade wrong...wrt the pump- you can always get one at a stand-alone M.A.C

This reminds me when I was deciding... I went home with two shades on my face and came home with sandalwood but went back to the store day after liking Amber Honey more it gives you that glow but not much of a difference I like it. Good foundation

Hello, thank you for the video. I'm curious, why did you compare a neutral in shade 5 and a warm in shade 6? Why not try 5w2 instead of Sandalwood? Anyway, Estee Lauder has a machine that can tell you your exact shade. It works well.

Sandalwood is warm too. I believe if you have golden undertone come neutral foundations work.

I found this foundation very matte . However the shade I got, I always have to mix it with a color corrector. The pump issue also 😭😭😭
