Great wrap up! So glad you loved No Exit, I’m still trying to find a thriller that makes my heart race as much as that one did! Kill For Me Kill For You was good too, I did not predict any of the twists, haha. I’m reading The Only One Left right now, about 80% in and the twists are twisting 😂 Loving the ominous setting and very curious to see how it ends! And I appreciate hearing a different take on Bride, I’m very curious to see where I’ll land on it, I feel like I may not like it 😬😂
Thank you, Chelsea! I will look forward to your review on The Only One Left. And I’m definitely an outlier with my opinions on Bride, so you very well may like it! Will be curious on your thoughts if you do ever decide to pick it up
10 books, get it!!! Immediately putting No Exit on my TBR! It would be a perfect winter read!! I’ve heard mixed reviews about Annie Bot but I definitely want to read it! You read more non-fic books than I did and I need to make an effort in 2025 to read more non-fics! Oh no!! I loved Bride BUT I feel like this is a book that people either like or don’t. Loved hearing from your perspective though! Just another reminder that reading is subjective!
AH I hope you enjoy No Exit! Always seems strange to use the word "enjoy" for a thriller, but you know what I mean. I think Annie Bot is still worth it- I can see why people have loved it. YES to more nonfiction! There are some good ones out there! I'm hoping to keep up with the practice in 2025. And absolutely, reading is so very subjective. I went into Bride hoping I would love it, but alas. It's fun that we can all have such different takes!
I hope you have a great time with No Exit! It's a RIDE. I did now about the movie version of Boys in the Boat. I have to watch! Thanks SO much for watching 💛
No Exit sounds SO scary and intense. I might have to add into my TBR for a thrilling book (and track my heart rate for it) because not a lot of books gets me scared 🫢 Kill For Me Kill For You reminds me of an episode on Criminal Minds, I kind of want to pick it up but I've had so many not banger thrillers/mysteries 🥲The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was one of the books that I read when I got back into reading again! Definitely was a great pick with so much depth to her as a character. But the BRIDE SLANDER (jkjkk)😭💕 But I totally get what you mean with it being similar to FW, now it makes so much sense why I didn't like the banter/romance with FW. I might have ranked it lower if I didn't grow up loving Twilight so much. Because I was VICIOUS towards FW's writing
I would 100% pick up No Exit when you’re in need of some thrills! It will deliver. And yes same for me with 7 husbands! It was def part of my return to reading journey. Lolol the bride slander! There are a lot of Bride lovers in the comments, and you all are being so nice about it 😊
my book club read no exit in 2024 and it was interesting to see how we all reacted to the gore differently 😆 some of us barely noticed it and others could barely get through the book. ALSO have you heard of people comparing the last mrs parrish to the housemaid? i read the housemaid and saw that there’s speculation / controversy that it was plagiarized from the last mrs parrish which is so crazy to me because the housemaid is so popular and is even being made into a movie now
I cannot even believe that some people didn't notice it haha, but again, I'm such a scaredy cat 🙀 and YES I did know about the allegations regarding the housemaid. I talk briefly about it in another video. It's the reason I chose to read The Last Mrs Parrish instead! I didn't know it was being turned into a movie! People really do love it
No Exit would be perfect read for me rn in this snowstorm! You know I loved Bride but I respect your opinion 🤭 idk what it is but Ali Hazelwood books are like crack to me
No Exit is probably too scary for me, there is a lot of driving in dark winter here and I do not want to make it worse! 😅 The Boys in the Boat sounds interesting though. I read The Mare by Angharad Hampshire in December, which starts out in the same time period but follows a woman who ends up working as a guard in a concentration camp. It’s fiction but based on / inspired by a real person. I usually don’t read a lot of war stories, but that part of history is fascinating to me, the question of how does it get there? The Only One Left is on my 25 for 2025, my first Riley Sager, I’ll go in with levelheaded expectations! 😊 I also read One Dark Window last month and had similar experiences with the writing in that, the most unnecessary things just not making sense and it takes me out of the story so fast! 😂 It doesn’t have to be amazing writing, but like… let it make sense! Appreciate the reviews!
definitely don't read no exit if that's the case! or save it for the summer haha 😆 I have never heard of The Mare, but that sounds fascinating and right up my alley. oooh I just watched your review of One Dark Window, and it sounds quite similar to how I felt about Bride 😬 LET IT MAKE SENSE. thanks so much for watching!
Loved hearing your review for Bride. I did enjoy it, but I really appreciate hearing other perspectives. I love that you brought receipts too 😅
I'm glad you liked it! I really wish I had. I appreciate your openness to other opinions ☺️
@@mansreads of course! It was really a fun watch for me :)

@@mansreads Haha exactly! 😆 I don't think we're asking for much here!
Real question is where did you get that mug.
You’re right, that is the most important. I thrifted it maaany years ago. My mugs are all gifted or thrifted
@ Oh I see! It’s very chic and cavernous!
I'm going to try to guess what book has the unpopular opinion I think its no exit
Not quite!
