And David continued to pray to the Blue Fairy there before him - She who smiled softly forever, she who welcomed forever. Eventually, the floodlights dimmed and died, but David could still see her palely by day... and he still addressed her in hope. He prayed until all the sea anemones had shriveled and died. He prayed as the ocean froze... and the ice encased the caged amphibicopter and the Blue Fairy too, locking them together where he could still make her out. A blue ghost in ice... always there, always smiling, always awaiting him. Eventually, he never moved at all, but his eyes always stayed open... staring ahead forever all though the darkness of each night... and the next day... and the next day. Thus, 2,000 years passed by. So sad... 😭
I know there are other works by Williams that are WAY more popular, but nothing, NOTHING makes me feel emotions (even cry!) like this score, one of the best he has ever made and my personal favorite. Like yeah, the other ones are more "iconic," they are also less profound, less complex, less subtle. He really went the extra mile for this soundtrack, and it shows. Don't take it for granted.
I guess the score for AI was the culminating point of John Williams' career as a composer. I've never heard anything like that... Thank You for sharing this masterpiece....
In Mrs. Swinton's garden, it was always summer. The lovely almond trees stood about it in perpetual leaf. Monica Swinton plucked a saffron-coloured rose and showed it to David. "Isn't it lovely?" she said.
if i could bring something back, i would choose to bring the days when my mother still didn’t have schizophrenia and took me to school every day, and also, the time when she was my teacher at school.
That was such a beautiful composition that sounds so ethereal and serene. This scene in A.I. is so bittersweet and represents such a meaningful moment in the film.
The most magical movie... Where sfi theme is so dreamy, mysterious and heartfelt 💙💫💫 never felt human atachments this deeply and otherwordly like in this movie 💙 big love for steven spielberg 😢💙💙
It might be what the music did to lead you up to that point. Also, at that point, the female mezzo soprano voice comes in with no vibrato, making it sound less human, and more angelic. It's a nice section, no doubt.
^ I am so happy you made this comment. Because the slow deep and soft rich wholesomeness of the strings, the harmonies that speak directly to your soul...I have cried many times at this moment. Just, so much depth, so much feeling and longing - we can hear in the music all that David has ever wanted....which is love. Williams is a masterful genius composer who can encompass feeling for any given situation.
Music to make you soul ache. Honestly find it hard to listen to. It brings back so much sadness, makes me think about every loss in life, every regret, and is so filled, so utterly, terribly, appalingly, filled to brim with despair and melancholy it leaves me trembling. Oh god...
I loved John Williams well before this. This is the most beautiful, heart felt, score ever writtien for a film. Not something I associate with that society, That depth of feeling.

not sure I've ever come across such a perfect descriptor of bittersweet, beyond this monologue
David' s Human Ever & Forever!!!
This was the part that took me out and led to me having an emotional breakdown

@@NikiWonoto26 you’re welcome
John Williams most under appreciated score.
It has enormous depth. I never heard something so sad yet a glimmer of nostalgic and hope.
Indeed. Such a touching and deep music so under appreciated... John Williams FOREVER...
sadly true
YES!! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I might add this is one of his bests scores ever.
John Williams Is Genius - one of the most beautiful compositions ever ........

My test for A.I is this - Make it watch this movie, and see how it reacts. If it expresses grief, sadness etc, it truly is A.I

I feel such a strong spiritual connection at 3:00. Idk why. Does anyone else feel awakened or spiritualized during that part?

No thats not the reason. Its just sad music. Any sad music will make you feel that way.
thats why you should listen to upbeat music to lift you up.
@@rominn2184Beautifully written ... exactly !!! Me also ...
3.09 to 6.00 ... sublimely sad.
+frantik991 Yet 6:12 hopeful and 6:32 transcendent
Because David’s hopes are impossible.
Brilliance starting at 3:00

"If you can bring back some people..why can't you bring back her!" Ouch!-just like an E.T.! That line hurts!
Best part of the movie. Aside from The Flesh Fair with the Chris Rock robot and Dr. Know
Music to make you soul ache.

I feel you so much. And I am kind of glad to know, that someone here, in this blue planet, has the same feeling as mine about this song.
