Telling the truth saves everyone's time. People think protecting you with a lie is going to help. In the long run it's more harmful. As hard as it is just tell the truth.

Dishonesty is just in some people's dna. They'll lie at the drop of a hat, sometimes for no reason.
Being rewarded for being honest is a beautiful thing, but it can also backfire. But overall honesty brings people who practice it peace.

In general lying is draining and compromise our soul, I avoid as much as I can, but sometimes I lie to don't hurt ppl, silly lies, when I feel saying the truth would be more harmful.
Sometimes ppl don't appreciate honesty.
The other day I respectfully told a friend she needed to let a bad situation go for good in order to have different experiences in life, she needs to learn with the situation and let it go. She's been blaming and talking badly of an ex for almost 4 years and doesn't take any accountability for the bad relationships she had! At first she cried and agreed with me, but now she is distant. I thought we had intimacy for me being honest with her. I'm giving her space, but if she doesn't "come back", I don't regret being honest, I did to her what I expect my friends to do to me. Having honest friends is a bless.
