Oregon beats #6 Cal at Autzen! 42-3
Sell-out crowd of 58,975. Televised by ABC (Regional). 12:36pm kick-off.
There's just something special about Autzen Stadium in the month of September when ranked teams pay a visit.
The Oregon Ducks came to play today. There is no one single aspect of this team that deserves more credit than another for the thrashing of the #6 ranked team in the nation.
Outstanding effort by all:
-Jeremiah Masoli had a great game, silencing the critics in the process
-Ed Dickson hauled in eleven passes and three TD's tying the school single-game record for receptions by a TE set by Duck great Josh Wilcox in the 1995 Rose Bowl.
-THE ENTIRE OREGON DEFENSE
-Defensive Coordinator Nick Aliotti
-The offensive line
-RB's LaMichael James, Remene Alston Jr., Kenjon Barner
-Autzen Stadium (In general, they say that the home field factor is worth about three points. Not at Autzen.....try about 14!)
Autzen Stadium was absolutely ROCKING, incredibly loud and simply relentless all game long. I was hoarse by the start of the 2nd quarter.
Heisman hopeful Jahvid Best was held to just 55 yards on 16 carries.
Cal only managed 207 yards of total offense and never got inside the Oregon 20.
It was the worst loss in Cal's history when they were ranked in the top ten. Ouch!
With the victory, Oregon has beaten Cal eight of the last nine at Autzen!
