The ground crew waving and bowing at the gate when the plane is leaving and when you're in the air with a nice shot of Mt. Fuji was a perfect ending. Very nice, so relaxing!

Your Tokyo series has made me want to go back so much. I have a tendency to run wild all over Tokyo seeing as much stuff as I can. Your videos make me want to slow down and enjoy the district you're in more fully. In my two trips, I've yet to even see SkyTree close up.
I'm going to definitely make note of all your konbini foods.
    Great series!
Edited to add that I've always wanted to see Mt Fuji from the plane! My flights are usually in and out of Japan in the evenings and nights.

Generally people can have alcohol with breakfast, but usually champagne, I think. But in Germany, specifically Bavaria there is a breakfast which is white sausage, mustard, pretzels and thats served with beer. I wouldnt have imagined its a thing in Japan. But maybe they came in for breakfast after a night-shift... thats a situation where I could also have beer in the morning😊

Also the beers in the morning thing: I grew up in Germany where my dad would have breakfast beer with breakfast with friends once a week. (Much to the displeasure of my mom.) @skatingcanuck9837 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

That is a good question seeing as both countries are famous for both. I think it depends on your taste in snacks, meals, and which convenience store. I haven't been to Japan, but I do notice that there is a layer of convenience like having microwaves, tables, cutlery, boiling water, free ice that I haven't noticed in videos of Japanese convenience stores. I have also noticed self-serve convenience stores in Korea in random places like on the beach that people can access 24/7. Please anyone correct me if I am wrong.

Your comment on the lacking "sitting or resting" accomodation was something I've asked many times. someone has taken the time to explain it to me; this is the best explaination i can convey.
Considering the work/life balance in japan and the popular (or the unpopular) opinion on lazy people. Putting down benches was an invitation to waste time, occupy real estate (even for a fraction of time) thus preventing/removing (workers) ease of movement as to properly (and in a safely fashion) to circulate.
Now that tourism is a proper industry in Japan, they have had to break away (extremely reluctantly) from this belief. They have started since the 2000's (big ramp up😂) to install them in the most obvious areas such as temples/shrines, nature trails/parks, look out points but are extremely rare in city centres/areas. As to prevent large potential assembly of stationary citizens for large groups; take kabukicho (tokyoko plaza) as a prime example/problem. If benches were available, it would invite and promote a larger gathering and disrupt the flow of urban design and passage.
I know as a Canadian, we have established other locations as to peacefully remove these people but living in a free country, our hopes and dream of safe spaces are limited by the limited amount of these site (halfway house, homeless sanctuaries) and the willingness of people to follow the society expectations and norms. As an extra layer of protection, our (various) communities have enacted laws/by-laws to minimize these such as: by restricting "open hours" of public parks/sites and enforcing loitering regulations, just to name a few. Japan has managed to keep this situation extremely low for decades and all that was necessary was to omit "park benches" installation.😅😂😂😂
There is also the inherent belief in japan that "hurry and wait" - aka as waiting for doing something (very similar to the pali-pali culture of Korea) is an active state (Canadians, brits are amongst the best in the west as we have mastered cueing/waiting in line - activily waiting to do something) whereas the western perspective (USA mostly)!waiting is a passive akin to doing nothing. Where the expression of: "if you're not doing anything you might as well sit down...and shut up"😂😂😂

    • @robert-antoinedenault5901
      @robert-antoinedenault5901 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

Your surprise on the consumption of beer in the morning is quite troubling. As a professional in the manufacturing industry, this is the very least that one thing a society will never limit. All large facilities (+200 workers), tend to offer (at the very least) 3 shifts per 24 hour period. Why would the morning and evening have the right to enjoy a beer after their shift but restrict graveyard shift workers? That's completely nonsensical!!! Here in Quebec, the down time (time during which cleaning and deliveries are required) 3 am to 7am is the only moment where the sale is restricted. Therefore those that finish 14-17 or 22-1am or even 6-9, have the time to make their way to these locations, order their food and beverage. As for the beer formats availability that varies from country to country. Here in Canada there are the classic cans (355-500ml) and small bottles (341ml), medium cans and bottles (750ml) and the large (1,18L) and there is also the single glass, buck and pint format followed by the half pitcher (32oz) and the (full) pitcher (60-64oz) and my favorite format the 2.8L tower (to share in the early hours of the morning) with work colleagues while devouring a full Quebec breakfast (blood sausage and creton included) with a 10oz blue rib steak.
As for missing Japanese draft beer in Séoul. A colleague of mine has a recommendation. It is called "Rest pub&bar", can't speak of it since I've never been but coming from a Japanese it must be good.😅😂

When Kyuho was talking about middle aged men dribking beer being 40-50, he looked like he had a depressing realization it will be him in a few years. It was hilarious.

Fun fact about the Bamboo chocolate snack.
There's a Mushroom version and the two have been battling it out for popularity since their inception.
    Bamboo(Takenoko-no-sato) vs Mushroom(Kinoko-no-yama)
And for the longest time Bamboo has been dominating.
Personally, I prefer the crunchy biscuit texture of the Mushroom
over the flaky cookie texture of the Bamboo.
    They're both delicious tho.

Calpis exist in Canada under a different name: Calpico....because Calpis sounds like....
and about the beer thing: it is possible that they start their work early like from midnight (especially if you work in the fish industry), and then it's 9 AM is simply like their "end of workday".

Lol, the bamboo shoot chocolates Kyuho loves are also my favourite snack from Japan. 1st time I had them I stupidly didn’t realise they were bamboo shoots & just called them bullets & ever since they’ve become known in our family as the bullet chocolates. So that’s what we ask for whenever I ask my brother to send some over. The best though!

I know you said the matcha was bitter, but I'm betting that was some premium premium good stuff right?
Last time we were there, we went to a restaurant every morning like Matsuya and had that same type of bomb breakfast stuff. So good! Also remember seeing Mt. Fuji from a train I think going back to the airport as well. Very beautiful!

Oh we’ve already tried 😅 very few of our favorite Japanese snacks are available here. Rarely, some import snack shops will have them, or we can order some on Coupang, but they’re usually super expensive.

It's extremely rare for someone to drink beer in the morning in Japan.
One possibility is that he worked in a 24-hour factory, and was drinking beer after working through the night. Or maybe he had just finished work repairing the subway.
Or maybe he had been making bento boxes at the station since early in the morning, and was drinking them after work.
This is a scene that you might see especially in downtown areas like Asakusa.
Either way, someone is working 24 hours a day in Tokyo.

Beer is cheaper than water in some Asian countries. I'm not a drinker, but I drank a bottle of cold beer on a hot summer day when I was in China. Definitely beats the heat.

I watch an American TH-camr who lives in Japan, he has beer/canned cocktails with almost every meal. He married a Japanese lady & has 2 son's wuth her. The son's also do beer/cocktails with meals. They are young guy's (19 and 22 I believe). The oldest son lives in California now but visits. I was shocked at all the beer's & cocktails at first.😂 Now, I'm like saying " Cheers & Beer's" with him.😅😂 I wish you'd meet up with him, EricSurf6 or Sharla (Sharlmeleon & Sharla in Japan). I've watched her even before I discovered Y'all year's ago. I watch her fiance Chris now to (Abroad in Japan). Sharla loves cat's to. She has 2 Air B & Bs which are cat themed in Japan. I could've seen Y'all staying at 1 of them.😻😻😻😺

My best guess is these guys are coming home from working all night long. It's just like when you get off at 5pm or 7pm you go and have a beer and snack before going home.
