Please please keep making recaps, especially when there’s chess like this. Enjoying your work Levy, and appreciate the piece of yourself it costs to do this on this scale.
People acting like he suffers to make videos which make him so much money, like it's a real struggle having 1m subs
@@Sinnegeiets Levy clearly grinds really hard to make this much content while also improving at chess for our amusement. Seems like a lot more work than the vast majority of people are willing to do.
Shak always plays something ridiculous and doesn’t give a damn about anything and that’s why we love him. The second blitz game was just insane
@@doniamer2009 Well, he's been in top 10 for many years, soI wouldn't call him underrated :D
He crushed Fabi with black pieces in classical format 3 months ago...
Insane game
the second blitz game is one of the best games I have ever seen in blitz format
2:10 got scared for a sec when Levy said “Statics and Dynamics”, I thought I was in an engineering video on the kinematic of materials
would very much appreciate the continuing recaps. As long as the games are interesting, the results are not as important. Besides, even without the bonus points, I'm pretty sure that Magnus at #1 and Wesley at #2 isn't a hard thing to predict...
I like the recaps. But I kind of only care about the most savage games. If our schedule reasons he wants to skip it... Fine. But if there's any particularly good games I'd love his insight. Plus I always follow MVL in tournaments.
@@ecooper7081 I love the slow positional games as much as I love the savage attacking games. One of the positional games I love most is Caruana v Tari in Norway 2020. Caruana sacced a pawn early on and just suffocated Tari. It's hard to see where Tari even made a mistake. But I love those kinds of games as well.
I want to add that, on chess TH-cam, Levy invented the whole-day recap and created the demand for it. We didn't even know we wanted it. This is how Levy blew up. Someone else will supply it if you stop. You don't understand the format? During classical recaps, you complain about all the draws! Levy, this is my meal time viewing. Sometimes beer is involved. I need this!
Omg I can’t believe Magnus Carlsen would get in a fight I’m literally shaking and crying rn
@@bobkreme2175 the "omg i cant believe x i'm literally shaking and crying rn" is a very old meme :/
"the guy whose pushing his pawns is probably gonna lose his pawns and the guy whose pushing his pawns ends up losing his pawns" - Levy Rozman 2021
"There is something you'd call statics and dynamics, if you're below 2000 you don't need to know what that is, and 98% of my audience is below the rating of 2000, you don't need to know what that is. So basically I just said something that you don't even need to listen to.
Welcome to my videos!" - Also Levy Rozman 2021
I like the recaps. Always good to see super GMs play, regardless of the standings. Appreciate your hard work 🙏
Hikaru: "Yeah, so how about we play some Blitz instead, chat???"
"Trust me, the guy with 2 extra pawns is going to win, unless that guy is a Gotham subscriber"
Now I will cry. Truth hurts
Bold of you to assume just 2 extra pawns. I'll probably be up 69 points of material and get backranked.
Simple solution; if being a subscriber makes you bad at chess, unsubscribe. :D
Hey levy You make my day everyday. Hoping that I see a title like "I became the 15th world champion!" or "I beat Magnus Carlsen". Hopeful of seeing you on the stage
hi noob(a person who dont play chess but comments on chess video)u know that it wont happen, but levy is special for us more than magnus even though he isnt world champion
Levy makes these games so much more intense
Ikr. Like other successful chess commentary is mostly just explaining the position and commenting on the beauty of the tactics, while Levy treats the game like a fist fight in a back ally.
Levy can we expect a video soon about the nimzowitch-larsen attack opening. I really wanna try this out and there's no better yt than you in chess and your the best in explaining these stuff so plz make a video on it if possible
My opponent once played that but I crushed him by opposite-side castling . Basically in that opening , it almost feels like black is playing white
Gotham: I don’t want it to be a 40 minute recap
Video: 37 minutes
Please keep on making these recaps Levy. They are so entertaining and I always look forward to watching a recap
I just want to thank you Levy for always working hard for us and keeping our chess interest alive. You made my day Levy, thank you so much once again!
@@fuoco7594 Do you not thank the waiter? Do you not thank the people helping you at the store? Just because someone is getting paid doesn't mean their work shouldn't be appreciated.
The way you thank him people think he does it for free. I mean he is the biggest chess channel. Its basic requirement of every big chess channel to bring quantity and quality content otherwise he wouldnt have more than 1 million subs.
Please keep doing these recaps! They are extremley instructive and your enthusiastic explenations are awesome!
Love the recaps. The tournament might be a bit dumb but the games and your analysis of them is always worth watching!
32:27 guys here you can see how his journey towards GM takes place, he’s beginning to look away from the screen to find tactics/mate in this case, it’s gonna take a long time before he stares at the ceiling but we’re getting there
i really liked this style. it's just like happening live between magnus vs memedyarov and you made these games so intense it was so exciting
I must say, your recaps are my favorite videos of yours, so I'd like you to keep doing them and I wish there were even more events for you to cover :)
25th day of translating Levy's titles into Neapolitan:"Magnus Carlens finisc rind a na riss"
@Kyle Callahan if there is someone who really does this I want to thank you and I'm really happy you like my translations so much
As Magnus steps up his game when there’s a need, so does Levy with his thumbnails!!!
Levi :- avoid early queen attacks
Carlsen :- I don't care what he is saying, I am the world Champion 😅😅
Dang Levy, you out here making not only tournament recap videos, but also opening videos every day. You da real MVP
Love the recaps! Please keep making them so the rest of us can understand what the GMs are up to!
I love the recaps, would definitely appreciate if u kept doing them. For your stronger viewers, a lot of your series like guess the Elo and rating climbs are mostly entertainment, but I learn quite a bit from the recaps.
Somebody put Levy on an Olympic team. Soccer, basketball, you name it. This need to happen.
Recaps, opening/tactics, and your GM training videos are my favorite content from you Levi! Guess the Elo and long-form streams for title Tuesday type of events are fun and are probably the next best IMO. Less of the historical games.
I do appreciate the recaps. Watching them live takes too long, and I lack understanding to get much out of the eval bar moving around. When you point out crazy computer ideas that people shouldn't be expected to see, it helps me get a feel for how the game is actually going compared to what the eval bar would say.
20:12 Levy : "GF might actuallyscrew up your advantage "
My Brain : "Wait A Sec Doesn't He Have One"
🤣🤣🤣
These recaps are fantastic content. Keep up the good work!
More recaps please love seeing the games regardless of standings. I will give a like and comment for every recap u make.
As per your request, I would absolutely love for you to continue making recaps.
I know this episode was a little longer than most, but I really enjoyed that about it! I loved seeing all of Magnus and Mamedyarov's games.
Levy you have become the only TH-camr whose videos I wait for on a daily basis. Really makes my days a little better.
Yes please, continue with the recaps! Rapid and blitz allow for crazy fun games, we wouldn't want to miss them.
Please continue to do the recaps! It's my favorite part of your content.
please keep making these recaps. I have no idea what's going on with this format, but i love watching this high level play!
Is beating Magnus 3 times in a day a new record(not counting bullet matches)
I love your recaps but also try to watch anything you put out. My personal favorites are always “how to win at chess” and recaps
Your manic brilliancy driven by an unapologetic fearlessness is an inspiration to behold. Thank you sir.
Levy - for me, your recaps is the main reason I watch you consistantly. Agad covers some games, you cover the tournaments.
It is a great day when Levy uploads. Essentially my whole life is great!
8:22 - "I gotta get through this game, I don't want this to be a 40 minute recap"
Goes on to make a 37 minute recap!!
reading the title made me imagine Carlsen with boxing gloves in a ring lmaoo
There's a fire...
Nobody:
Levy: Let's pour some gas on this.
GothamChess always bringing the energy love itman!
Thank you so much Levy I improved from 1100 to 1592 in 2 and half months by watching your videos ☺
Artemiev must have seen Ryan Letourneau's famous Knight Fianchetto not but a couple months ago. What refined taste.
"Trust me, the guy with 2 extra pawns is going to win, unless that guy is a Gotham subscriber"
:(
8:26 "I don't want this to be 40 min recap."
Total length of video : 37 min
Leavy : Mission Successful !!
I feel like watching the 19th century games. Shahkriyar's playing style is insane.
Day 56 of translating levy's title in Bengali 🇧🇩 "ম্যাগ্নাস কার্লসেন মাইর শুরু করল"!
17:58 " When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object"
Happens to be from the movie The Dark Knight
Maybe pure coincidence.
It’s not a coincidence… the channel name is literally gothamchess, he’s a Batman fan
Levy on a youtube post : My audience mostly are below 18
also Levy in the video : If your children are watching with you
18:37 Bd1 is a very quiet and professional move
12:04 my hearth melted, wholesome Levy
Be honest: don't you just love it when Gotham does the Slavic accent? I do.
Tbh, recaps are legit definitely keep doing them. Especially if we get more sequences like that Magnus-Shakh set 😂
Please keep making these recaps, it's more about the beautiful chess than it is about the standings.
PLEASE make more of these. Thats just some wild but very unique and fun games which are very rare on the tournaments with the players of the highest level
15:30 “he plays H6; which is kind of H5, but not” - a philosophical masterpiece.
11:54 yep.. That's why I don't get the way he walks after the match because it's really weird and funky
I love the recaps of this event, with the weird format the games are just amazing!! And even though noone understands the format the chess is the same so atleast for me, I'd love the recaps to continue💛
These recaps are great. My favourite way to easily keep up with chess while still being in depth.
32:22 Levy just saying Mamedyarov's first name five times in a row...
7:33 " (singing) Rook b1 Rook b1... except this time makes sense "
Glad to see Vladislav is an actual Gotham suscriber and saw the class on fianchettoing knigs with NL
Those four draws by repetition felt like they were splitting cookies in half and sharing around tea peacefully, while all the others were having a blood bath in the battlefield
Pls keep doing recaps its digestable and i like how you explain the crazy strats and tactics
Any hockey fan would relish such a chess game breaking out during this fight. Well timed and balanced recap. "Are you mocking me son" - Hikaru
I adore the recaps, it makes me feel more involved in GM-level play :) it was a great idea to have Carlsen vs. Shakh be the focal point, it's fresh and exciting!
"it makes me feel more involved in GM-level play". Without people like Levy, well he's one of a kind, but the idea is there really is no reason to broadcast GM games to anyone except other GM's. You and me might as well not watch the Twitch broadcast of the world championship and just wait for Levy's take. Hope he does recaps at least of the wins.
Gotham: yes all grandmasters sounds Russian
Hikaru with a Russian accent: Well yis but you know the beeshoop on b seix
We love the recaps levy keep doing them! :)
I love the recap content. Never stop. Lol. I know you work hard and have a lot on your plate, but I think you're the best at doing "perfect length" recaps (i.e. not too short, not too long) of top chess tourneys. (Also, most streamers/TH-camrs just don't recap chess tourneys).
More recabs man we love your explanation and we are learning good stuff from these GM
Really enjoy the recaps it's about the only way I can follow these tournaments
Magnus and Shak woke up that morning and chose violence.
It's always nice to see this Magnus recaps, no matter the format.
levy: *uploads*
me: Hmm what do I comment
Man I love the fact that you brought up anish giri and said that hikaru and mamediorov drew 4 games
The format is exactly (well, almost) like soccer: 0 point if you lose, 1 if you draw, 3 if you win. I think it makes sense! What doesn't, however, is the bonus points. You could do it soccer style and use the bonus points at the end to decide a winner if there is a tie (bonus points would be like goal difference in soccer)
Giri-Duda sounds like the name of some meteor hurtling towards Earth
That Game 6 might’ve been the most wild game I’ve seen from Magnus in competition. So sick.
Please continue the tournament recaps it’s my favourite 🥺
levy i love your recaps.. but can you do a live commentary of any of the next rounds..would really love to see that
Please keep making more recaps! Even if the result of the tournament is known, the recaps of the individual games are compelling. I personally think this is your best content. (well, maybe second best now that you've rebooted your opening videos).
Please continue with the recaps . I feel like chess misses that and you make good ones
More recaps sounds like a great thing!
Please keep doing recaps. I really enjoy your take on the games. It's much more interesting than watching them myself.
Gotham: I dont want this to be a 40 minute recap.
Video length: 36:56
Gotham: Mission Accomplished.
Levy: Don't get winning positions against the world champion. You're probably going to get nervous
Me: Ah, yes, that's what I was doing wrong. Thanks for fixing my chess Levy
Recaps are my favourite videos after your computer chess videos but those are so rare
29:25 if you go bishop c5 isnt there bishop c3+
We definitely love to see ur recaps!! Keep it up
If you don't understand the system of the tournament Levy, maybe chess isn't your thing. Or is it because you're jealous Carlsen / and Hikaru is a mediocre chessplayer, and only a Twitch-showman❓
lol, I was thinking the same. Yeah, more recaps, if the tournament isn't too advanced for Rozman 😆
Pin of Bitterness
Jesus christ, go touch some grass
What does this even mean?!
No I think he does understand it, but much like everyone else no one has the fucking faintest clue why they did it or what in the world it adds to the normal tournament experience
