- video follows the new completed segement of tollroad in NE harris county. The journey begins at the east beltway at the the houston ship channel bridge or jesse jones memorial bridge to i-45 north freeway . video includes the 7 mile and 3 mile segement of TX Beltway8 Mainlanes managed by the texas dept of trasnportation.
Excellent work, your timing/synching in the first 1:07 was especially nice! As for the bridge, I crossed in 2007 and was amazed at how narrow it was considering when it was buit, I mean I could see if it was built like that in the 1950's but geez! Awesome toll booth/reader at 3:40, 5* all the way.
nice video, makes me feel like im there! interesting how the clouds NEVER change thoughout the length of that journey

i love these
1:09 rip the tollbooth.
Very cool. Perhaps a bit ironically, I found the sections featured in this video to be the most interesting along the Sam Houston Toll Road. The bridge is definitely a neat feature. I would imagine that they'll just add another deck and convert the existing bridge to one-way traffic, if the need ever arises in the future. And that interchange at Interstate 10; I'm not sure I've ever seen anything quite like that before.
you did a great job with this video :)
Great video! I'm surprised by the narrow, yet steep bridge in the beginning. Did you film the new Crosby Freeway yet?
@ScrewdUPClickV2 I totally agree that it's narrow, 1ft shoulders at best?
"Stop Ahead Pay Toll" at 0:50 used to be a blue TTA-sign that stated: PAY TOLL 1 MILE.
That first booth is awfully close to the bottom of that 175-foot bridge. "Keeping gas prices high, one toll at a time."
Looks like that bridge will be replaced
Nice job as always! That bridge and that road is a beast! One question with the rise of these tollways is if they are (or ever will be) compatible with the EZ-PASS out east?
highly doubtful.
Wow
Great video. Does anyone know the name of that sing?
@ScrewdUPClickV2 I don't know, but it ain't much, lol.
ATTENTION: The toll booth at the Jessie Jones Memorial Bridge is going EZTAG Only in January 2016.
I had to go to Baytown to start a new job so I got onto 225 and got on beltway 8 north and went over the channel , but it was dark and I didn't remember seeing any toll. I went like 7 times to Baytown without paying a toll and. Five times I didn't use this road on the way back (went straight to I 10 west), but I still got a ton of tickets in the mail. I'm bewildered as to where this damn toll is.
+FatPot G technically, you won't see the warnings from that point, but there are signs marked, "BEGIN EZ TAG ONLY" that appear before going over the viaduct to warn drivers to exit if they don't have an EZ TAG. SH 225 is technically your last free exit before the EZ TAG ONLY section begins, which is why you didn't know this before.
+FatPot G you'll know if you cross the EZ TAG reader because they're equipped with cameras that automatically flash when you pass through.
+FatPot G as for where the EZ TAG reader is, it's located in the same exact spot where the original cash plaza once stood (as seen in the beginning of the video).
wiiplayer9revisited won't be driving on this road for forever from now on.
how is the Jesse Jones bridge a Cantilever bridge?
screwdupclickv2 you passed through my side of town
