@@AngeloMontilla i take this opportunity to ask you for a technical explanation. Once the file is created, what format should I export it in? Interactive PDF or EPUB? I'm trying to understand how to exploit a file like this and insert it into my site, or propose it to some clients. Thanks again for your immense work
@@alexanedda3960 Either EPub or Publish Online for this example. A lot of the interactive elements (animation, media, object states) won't work for PDF. Always ask clients what their end goal is so you're not wasting your time creating projects like this tutorial and only to discover the client wants a PDF. Hope that helps!
@@AngeloMontilla Thanks for the reply Angelo. Unfortunately, customers want a PDF because it is a convenient file for sending and reading even on WhatsApp or read it on the smartphone. Here in Italy small businesses don't have a website. Even epub files don't have much space due to issues with incompatible reader apps. And the privacy law does not allow me to have a web space to publish other people's works (I need to find out more about this)
You can't add an open and close action to the same button because you'll confuse InDesign lol To achieve what you want to do, you could create two invisible frames over the button you want to have clicked. Set one as open, the other as close and use Show/Hide Buttons and Forms to toggle between the two invisible buttons.
Hello Angelo. It is a real pleasure to watch your videos, all the information is extremely valuable for those of us who follow you and the effort in the production of your materials is admirable. I have a question, I hope you can at least guide me... I need to make an interactive recipe book for mobile, for internal management of 3 restaurants where I work. This must be able to be viewed offline and on both Android devices and iPhones. I tried to do it as an epub, and it turns out that on iPhone I have managed to view it with interaction with the native iBooks application, but on Android nothing has simply worked for me, I have already tried many applications including Google books, and none of them have worked for me, I don't know if Is it about the OS or do I have to do something different when exporting the file. Or failing that, will there be the possibility of doing my project in another way? I thank you in advance for your time and your response. Greetings from Mexico.
Do you create all your interactive magazines in Indesign or use services like Flipstack? Isn't it the same thing but you have more control in Indesign? Are there limits to how big a file you can publish online with Indesign? I am creating an interactive magazine standard magazine size(8.5x11) interactive pdf and my images are all animated (short reels).
Hi there! There's no limit, but you will be able to choose your image quality settings prior to publishing. The higher the quality the images, the slower load time can be. But it sounds like your document should be just fine. Remember, the InDesign interactivity you create (animations, interactive buttons/menus, adding media) won't carry over to the flipbook platform. More times than not, you'll have to use their platform and tools to add those interactions/animation/media.
Hey man, after effects motion designer here. i want to get into live interactive presentations for my clients and my question is what is best method of final export for live use if i was just using a clicker mouse or touch screen. thanks your videos are great!
Well these are HTML/javascript so they can be hosted on a website. You can go to File > Publish Settings and choose HTML/JS to export the assets (html, js and images) which you can hand off to a developer to help with getting it hosted to your site. Hope that helps.
Great, thanks, but how save it for working correctly? I tried to save in interactive PDF and it's became broken. Maybe you have some video to share with me?
Hi there. I don't suggest PDF Interactive for any animation, because it will no longer work. Publish Online or E-Pub (Fixed Layout) to view in an e-reader are you best bets. The Email buttons will work for PDF, as will the Rollover effect. But the interactive timeline uses Animation so it will not work.
The best teacher there is online. No other words are needed.
Thanks Angelo
Thank you! 😃

We cannot thank you enough for your effort 🙏 This is exactly what I need 💪
hi angelo, thanks very much for the good work. question, can you set the «reverse animation» on the same button (trigger) instead of the close button?

excellent. You said with all the details. Thank you🙏

Gorgeous and distinctive as usual, I would like this color number please
Light Purple: #6d49f2
Dark Purple: #341792
They go well in a gradient too! 🙂
thank you 😀@@AngeloMontilla
Is there any InDesign-related marketplace where we can sell our designs or services?
You can try Creative Market.
Grazie mille!
good job
Thank you!
Really informative 🙏 Could you please post a tutorial of a full magazine design
