Local happy peoples!! We moved to Fairbanks this past Saturday and are currently staying in a temporary living situation while we wait for escrow to close on our house in North Pole! The family that has taken us in is amazing and very helpful with the adjustment, especially with our 8-month old daughter... we would love to give back to them with the gift of heating fuel

He’s use to it. It’s like summers in Arizona, we still go out and play, ride bikes, and do anything when it’s 115 degrees. When it’s 27 degrees for me I’m cold, but I’m use to high dry heat temperatures. I would imagine anything above 75 is hot for him. 🤣
Since you have plenty of land, why don't you build another shed? With 2 sheds you have a better buffer, and you can rotate between the (odd year/even year).

It's so inspiring to watch your family! We JUST moved into our home in Fairbanks and ran out fuel last week when the temperatures were -30 and we were just getting our stuff moved in. Our fuel lines went dry and the inside temperature of our house fell under 40 degrees rapidly! It was very scary! Especially when you are new to the area and all the fuel companies are booked out for two weeks. I work at a non-profit organization (Resource Center for Parents and Children) here in town and they helped me out so much to get connected to fuel ASAP (Shout out to Crowley Fuel!). I'd love to give back and give heating fuel to a random family that comes to our organization that is in need of it. Now that I know how frightening it can be to not know if you'll be able to heat your home, I never want to see it happen to anyone else!

I used to ( for many years) am 77 now, bake tons of different kinds of cookies and home made fruit cakes everyone loved. I started 1 month before and my dining room looked and smelled like a bakery. Gave them to neighbors, friends, people I worked for plus relatives
Found it a way to say Merry Christmas and give a gift with no strings .Every one liked my baked goods. A way to give a gift and no one thinking they have to give too.

You know what? You guys amaze me with all the wonderful things you do for people. You really do. You guys are such a blessing to this world!! I hope you do realize that. During this trying time with that virus we're all dealing with, its really nice to know there are good people on this Earth. Oh, and high five to Evelyn!! I'm a crocheting person too. Its my happy place. This year I'm making crocheted Christmas ornaments to hang on trees and use as gift tags. Its little extra something that can be used for years to come. The theme is "A Country Christmas"! Crocheted bells, stars, angels, trees and hearts that are made with variegated yarn in colors that are earthy....possibly faded in tones....anything that looks vintage. I use vintage looking ribbons to tie on them for hanging too. And.....BUTTONS!! I love old looking buttons, and you can use them to embellish ornaments. Ok, I've ran my mouth long enough. You guys have a blessed day, and once again....THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH LOVELY PEOPLE!!! From the crew in the hills of Tennessee.

I'm a quilter, in the past few years, I have pieced and quilted tree skirts, table runners, pieced and quilted hot pads, bowl cozies, wall hangings. Love the fleece blanket you made. My daughter made one of those during a gymnastics party. I usually keep it in my trunk and it has come in handy during camping or needing something for a passenger to snuggle up under.
Every year my mother in law puts in all the kids stockings a picture frame ornament with the year and a picture from the year. It's our favorite gift every year! The frames are like $5 at a local craft store, and a small picture is under a dollar. So fun!
You guys are wonderful. We are having a bad time. I got diagnosed with Covid the day after Thanksgiving. Still feeling sick but have been cleared to go out now. We aren't doing Christmas this year. We have a broken furnace, broken stove, broken fridge, and no water. So far we are doing OK though. Still listening to Christmas music and trying to be happy! Merry Christmas to you all.

He hasn’t been online in a while (I think he may have had to cut internet to save money) but he’s awesome and has tons of stories about his military life. He cares for his disabled wife and I know if you could find them he could use this (if he uses heating fuel and not wood). His name is Dwight Lane (his wife is Vicky and is a better fisherman then he is). He has a microwave and minions for a mail box.
i crochet a LOT i mean every day and i make slippers, socks, hats, neckwarmers, scarves, blankets, cowls, mittens

My favorite craft is a candy wreath. You need curling ribbon cut into 5ish inch pieces; a bag of assorted wrapped candy and a childs wire coat hanger with bottom part pulled out into a circle. Tie candy onto wreath and curl ribbons with scissors.
I have been making sweet hot mustard for Christmas gifts for years. Everyone says they look forward to getting them. 🤗❤️

Our weather in Southeast Missouri has gone crazy. The highs have been ranging from low 50s to low 70s. Tornado warnings for tomorrow evening (Friday) into Saturday. Its December and I want some light snow. 😩

It will be a very hard year for many folks out there. The fuel prices are outrageous! We, living in Memphis area, have milder temps, than there in Alaska. But, still...the costs keep rising! I just thank God for down comforters! We turn our heat WAY down at night and stay warm under them. Merry Christmas ALL! Praying we all get through this!

We make baked goods alot but this year I've made a framed memorial for my sister because her cat passed away a couple days ago and I made a similar framed quotes and photos for my step daughter....I wrote down things she said to me during her pregnancy put that down with different fonts and a photo of her pregnant and then her and the baby and framed it....we also did photo collage ornaments and a christmas flag garland that says "merry" across it for my best friend that is hung on a string of clothes line clip s that are lighted. It's been a fun, crafty Christmas. :)
I think this was the video where you asked about homemade gifts - Wellll - I make ornaments on slices of wood - I personalize them for family and friends - and most recently, have done orders for people out here in internet land!!! I also do them for pets. My Mom was an artist and always wanted me to do my artwork - now I do! Thank you for asking! LOVE the blanket you made!!!
Each year I make decorations for friends. I also make all my gifts. This year I'm needle felting everything. I made a unicorn yesterday and have 17 little birds.

I made no sugar added jam this year. It's made with stevia. I used fireweed with Oregon blackberries and blue plums. Yum yum!

I live in Texas. Probably won't turn on heater until late January possibly February. Lol we are very heat sentive so I won't need heat until it's less than 20 out... just need a heated blanket. Lol
Yes fuel is high. I have yet to buy propane. I heat with wood now, but need a propane heater when I am at work so my pipes wont freeze. Love your kindness during the holiday season. Those fuel gc will go a long way for people that receive them. Also, just a hint Jessica on the cutting of your tie blankets. I use low tack masking or painting tape for the 1" strips to use as a guide for cutting. Makes it easy peasy!
Other homemade ideas: cookie mason jar kits, hair/headband holders for little girls, diamond painting. This year my daughter bought a small wooden cross for her grandma and decorated it with diamond painting beads. It’s beautiful!
I do homemade gifts every year. This year I made resin containers and then turned them into candles. This is the first time in a few years that I haven’t done edible gifts. Jams, pickles, cookies, breads. But I wanted to try something new this year. They turned out great!
Those blankets would be much appreciated at a homeless shelter. Being homeless in those temps, they need all the warmth they can get!

I have a tradition with my grandkids that they make homemade gifts for their moms/dads. Last year we made small pocket sized leather notebooks for dads and a command center message board for moms. This year is wing rubs for dads, and fancy seasonings for moms.

I love making homemade gifts. I have made crocheted items, sewing items, crafty items, but I think my favorite thing I did was one year I had some extra oak boards and decided to make my kids photo frames with matte board for three photos. Then I printed photos of them that I took. I love doing things like that! 💚

I feel like we are blessed. It usually takes us about $600-800 for heating fuel (propane) the whole winter. But we also have a dual fuel heat pump so some of our electric bill is heating related in the winter too.
Someone I know makes molded bird seed but it makes an interesting gift. The Christmas wreth ones are so neat!

Used to have oil but when it was time to get a new oil tank switched too propane . A lot cheaper . I live rural and we don’t have natural gas lines. Get your wood in the early summer as it is cheaper usually.

This year I made homemade vanilla extract in September for my neighbors ❤️ I just have to say that you guys are great and I look forward to your videos. I was a gymnast and had a full scholarship to college so I love watching Evelyn progress! So cool! Also I just love your kind heart and happiness toward people. It’s been a tough year for my family so it’s so nice watch your videos and feel your genuine positivity towards everything that you all do! I’m working on that too :)
I make homemade jelly's and jams and homemade goodie baskets like smores on a stick, cookies, chocolate covered popcorn..
I have been good with having the wood stove going because electric furnace can run the electric bill up. I absolutely cannot imagine the cost to heat a home in the colder states.

Oh wow I am so happy for whoever gets those certificates for the fuel! It's horrible how much it is to heat your home. I thank my lucky stars I live in an apartment complex and my heat is included in my rent because I would be in bad shape if I had to buy fuel for my home!!

We r propane here definitely not cheap thankful we r on a monthly payment that locks in price but I'm sure it will go up a ton next yr. So glad u r getting the snow u need wish we could get the snow I want, doesn't feel like Christmas when its not pretty
