But I do think that your neighbours might have been genuinely concerned about either of your safety and that's why they chose to involve the police. Either way, I feel most Swedish people avoid interfering in people's problems or confronting people. That's why they didn't approach and ask you directly.
I also live in Gothenburg. In early 2020, someone made a complaint that I have been beating up my kid or something. Social services showed up. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A KID. So this could be just racism IMO.

Swedish people don't usually interfere in other people's problems, but when it comes to domestic abuse, many don't think and out of concern they complain. I hate to say this, but in cases where there are complaints of domestic violence, the police can act in such a way. Swedish police are allowed to enter your residence and search it if they have reason to believe you have committed a crime. The police won't disclose who complained, but if you feel in any way that you have been mistreated by the police then you should definitely complain as the police do take such complaints very seriously as well.

That could be the reason they acted like that. You can complain/ give feedback about your experience and I am sure they will take it positively.

Hi Ashutosh, I'd suggest you to consult with a lawyer once. Since it happened once, It's gonna happen again. You don't know the neighbor who made the complaint. It could be that lady across the hall or someone else entirely. And, they could make a false complaint again. If anything happens in the future, the police are gonna chain these previous complaints to that. Which will end up effecting your current status in sweden. In my opinion, consulting a lawyer would be the best course of action. As you know, In sweden they take these kinda complaints very seriously. If this isn't dealt properly, and if this happens again, the only thing is gonna be in their file is that they investigated a domestic violence complaint once before.
My mother (while she was in Sweden on tourist visa) slipped on icy road and fractured her arm and the first thing the Doctors asked her was whether someone hit her. We were waiting for a doctor to check on her for 8 hours and once he came, instead of looking at the fracture, he first asked me to go out of the room and started probing my mother on who hit her. They started the x-ray only after my mother convinced them that she slipped and fell. I believe the Swedish authorities do this on purpose, specially with brown skinned people as they regard outsiders (even legal immigrants) as some third world people where these things are normal.
I'm also staying in Sweden, and I have heard a lot about such cases. one think we all should keep in mind while living in Sweden is that any of our act should not disturb anyone life here, by any mean ex. sound, violence, music , party, even while walking or driving or any damn thing. people are very smart here they don't talk to you about concern but they find it easy to call police. but I appreciate the way you both have handled that situation. nest time don't make any videos outside that apartment specially violence and noise type.
I also feel that it was wrong of the police to just barge in the apartment. Not sure about the protocol is but it just feels wrong. Also good point you raised that we could also ask Id for the police .
