    Dont make the same mistake i did when we first got our merlo. Going down the road at 40kph and reach for the indicator (being used to manitou without left hand shuttle) and put the thing into reverse and nearly got shot through the front windscreen as it stops from 40kph in about half a second🤣🤣

    Just had same size merlo on demo. Very impressed, better than the new claas liebher we had on demo. Cycle times were so quick with that revving joystick, cab suspension was very nice as we do a lot of roadwork. And it was quick on the road. Impressed.

    I think your country produce one of the best, if not the best, telehandlers in the world. You should support these products and replace the 531 with one brand new or one 542. I hope Greece were able to produce these staff but anyway we will stick again with the jcb. Great vid btw

    Another excellent video George, have you any other manufacturers' machines lined up to demo? Then it's time for the nitty-gritty, such as purchase price, warranty, operating costs, proximity of the nearest dealer etc. Perhaps if there are other contenders it could be a good subject for Torquing Point to cover if you are able to drag those reprobates to sunny Bedfordshire?

    • @bigwig8927
      @bigwig8927 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Discussing purchase costs publicly is rather crass even though some like to boast about what they pay just to impress others. The deal one dealer gives may not be the same as another plus discounts at the time of purchase vary so it’s actually fairly pointless and unprofessional.

    • @mikeclifton7778
      @mikeclifton7778 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless you're able to get a final discounted price from every dealer it's not possible to say. If we're going to get picky then perhaps I should have said "list price". However, list price is where negotiations start of course and it is sometimes considered bad form to disclose final figures.

    Is there any option to override the load monitor like on JCBs? When you're moving from an older machine to something like this it's hard to deal with a load monitor that's much more prominent so at least being able to override it is helpful. The thing that impresses with me so much is the visability from the drivers position that seems to be significantly better than that of a Kramer for example.

    • @GeorgeSaunders
      @GeorgeSaunders  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can override the load monitor if you manage to lock the boom out, similar to that on the JCB

    Hi George.. lovely work as normal.. I wondering maybe a big counter weight on the rear of the Merlo just to allow for the tipping problem caused by the weight of the Muck? And I was thinking about the traction and general control of the Merlo, Would the machine be better if they built it like the big combines are with a set of triangle tracks at the front and the normal tires at the rear? This would not only give better control and traction on wet muddy surfaces at the front, But also spread the load forces out better from the heavy load being carried, Also a HD video Camera on the front boom looking down at the area being done would help you to get up to the wall without hitting it as your own view from the cab is blocked by the load! Shame your old cow shed is not laid out so you drive straight through picking up the muck and carrying on forwards to load it on the trailer then reverse back into the shed to pick up the next load and so on! I see the cows are damn nosy they keep going up to see what's going on then run off when the Merlo gets close to the fence. Have good week George I will look forward to seeing more mad muck mad cows and fun.
